Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi (1137-1193), also known as Saladin, was a Kurdish Muslim leader and founder of the Ayyubid dynasty. Born in Tikrit, Iraq, he rose to prominence during the Crusades. Renowned for his chivalry and military genius, he united Muslim forces and recaptured Jerusalem from the Crusaders in 1187 after the Battle of Hattin. Salahuddin upheld justice and tolerance, earning respect even from his Christian adversaries. His legacy endures as a symbol of heroism, leadership, and Islamic unity. He died in Damascus, leaving behind a legacy of honor and devotion to his people and faith.
