They could've slapped a Spin-Off name on this game, similar to R: Racing Evolution on the PS2

It's kind of sad that the main Ridge Racer that tried to do something different is also considered as the worst one. We really more games like this. Pure chaos and destruction.

Yup. Split Second, Blur, Ridge Racer Unbounded, hell, even Burnout Paradise to some extent marked that the late 2000's-early 2010's were then years when people tried doing something different. Funny how all of them didn't sell well, yet still are regarded as future classics.
I don't care what people say. I love this game so much.
While I like this game for at least being different from the traditional Ridge Racer setting with it's own gritty and industrial atmosphere and feeling, This game is what FlatOut 3 should've been.
And this game wouldn't receive much hate if they slapped a spin off name to this game, like, Ridge: Unbounded or probably R: Unbounded or something else, similar to R: Racing Evolution on the PS2
Even the other name couldn't really saved this game from problems like way too repetitive gameplay.

I hope Namco made a Ridge Racer Type 4 Remake, 7 Remastered or Ridge Racer 8. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Ridge Racer. If did Klonoa, Pac-Man, Baten Kaitos, Why not Ridge Racer? Some people say arcade racing games won't sell, but Hot Wheels Unleashed has sold over 2 million copies.
i don't think we'd need a remaster of 7, that game aged flawlessly. sadly, it seems the series is all but dead, thanks to namco just not caring. or maybe we aren't screaming loud enough that RR needs another mainline game, which we haven't had in nearly 17 years.
I found it! The only Ridge Racer game where cars actually sound like cars!
we had some good sounds in V, 6, and the PSP games. vita to an extent aswell.
hope that they will do Full Auto 2: Battlelines car sounds soon.
