The little boy was talking pretty fast but I believe he was explaining some of the plants around him, he was like a cute little tour guide haha 😆

He was talking about the medicinal uses of the plants, but he was difficult to understand. I think it’s because sometimes indigenous people still speak their native language and Spanish is their second language, so your Spanish has to be really good to make sense of what they are saying if they don’t pronounce the words clearly or correctly. He is so cute thought!

Right! The indigenous have an accent when they speak Spanish. If you live or visit Mexico frequently and especially if you have family there, you will recognize the accent quickly. My aunt sang an old song, called "Borachita me voy," it's sung with an indigenous accent, she sang it beautifully.

Those pastel colours on you were beautiful! Really enjoyed this video, it’s great to be gradually learning about all the diversity & history of Mexico, I can’t wait to visit. Ps, fried plantain is pretty popular here in the UK, it’s so easy to make too, however we do have some upmarket restaurants that charge around £4-7 just for a few slices🤦🏽‍♀️. But to buy 1 whole plantain here is around just £1.

    I think the boy says:
Para nosotros el río le decimos "niar" (creo que está dicho en lengua que hablan en ese pueblo)
Casi todos los hombres y las flores se riegan con ésta agua
Éste sirve para regar todas las flores
Acá adentro hay pecesitos pero no se ven
Ellos salen cuando le metemos migajas de pan y maíz
Ésta flor se llama "siempre viva"
Sirve para los arreglos de bodas, Bautizos y primera comunión.
Algunos la conocen como la suculenta.
For us we call the river "niar" (I think it is said in the language spoken in that town)
Almost all men and flowers are watered with this water
This water is used to water all the flowers
There are little fish in here but they can't be seen
They come out when we put crums of bread and corn in it.
This flower is called "always alive"
It is used for wedding arrangements, baptisms and first communion.
Some know her as the succulent
