Great story! I would like to learn more about Miki's visa situation. I assume that when she came here for the second time it was on a F-1 student visa (to study English at CCNY), which forbids full time employment and has limited options for financial self-support. How did she manage that? After her F-1 status expired, what other visa did she apply for?

There’s a special visa classification P1 for artists and performers.
