I am fairly certain that the lowest passing grade is still a D. D grades require a minimum of between 65 and 70% correct answers depending on how the teacher grades, in most cases. My argument against affirmative action all along has been how it creates the perception that minorities / women / gay people, are incapable of succeeding at there jobs without the White man allowing them to. To me affirmative action is the most racist public policy we have ever passed into law! It forces employers to hire individuals based on broad percentages of the general makeup of society instead of how many individuals of their particular group that are qualified for the position. Some would argue that if you make it based on qualifications then they can just continue to run the same as always. I disagree, because the entry level positions have the same low standards for all and that is a much more appropriate application for the general demographics to be applied. Then you look at individual hire between equal qualifications and who was hired. If a pattern of discrimination exists in these instances than the government could take action, however even here the government should listen to the rationalization used by the hiring manager before making a decision. At one time in my career I felt I had been the victim of reverse discrimination in a job that I applied for. In part because the person I knew who worked at the company said that I was. About three years later I worked with the man who that job had been given to without knowing who he was. I formed my opinions about his abilities based on how quickly He picked up new skills and knowledge of the new equipment we had to repair. When He and I discussed our work histories I realized He was the man who got the job I applied for. I told Him how I thought that I had been the victim of reverse discrimination at the time. I let him know that if I had been the hiring manager I also would have chosen him over myself, in that I believed He was in fact more intelligent than myself, primarily because His capacity to memorize new information quickly was better than mine, and I had a better than average memory myself. Intelligence is the ability to apply what we know to solve problems and his analytic ability was as good as mine. This was why I told him I would have hired him over myself as well. In addition to these factors He was already an employee of the company with strong references and work history that could be verified, whereas I would have been an outside hire with only my resume' and references. Just to be clear this man I am referring to happens to be a black man and I happen to be a white man.

The thing is I am not going to fly with any airline that has this policy. Full stop... I do not wish to ever think if the pilots have been adequately. Same as jumping on a Boeing aircraft after the Alaskan Airlines issue. It is better to simply book an airline with the appropriate airplane that will get your from point A to point B... "SAFELY"!!!
I'm reminded of an episode of George Lopez, where he was headhunted by the owner of a rival company to his employer. He went to the interview thinking he was qualified for the VP position but heard that he was only selected because of his Mexican descent. He walked out because he wanted to be hired on merit, not ethnicity.
Are you qualified? Are you qualified? Are you qualified? Melanin count has nothing to do with being qualified. Delta Echo India needs to Delta India Echo with a India Echo Delta.
The part that always makes me chuckle about "diversity is our strength," is that the same people who say it are the same ones who talk about how a significant vehicle by which European colonization destroyed Africa was drawing borders without regard to the ethnic/cultural compatibility of the peoples who lived in those regions. Why wasn't diversity *their* strength?
Why are small high schools, generally unable to compete against large high schools in sporting events. Why are they classified based on the enrollment? It's because a larger the applicant pool translates to more high qualified athletes available. If the applicant pool for any industry is reduced to achieve diversity, less qualified people will be hired.
Idgaf, what race or religion someone is as long as they are skilled at what they do. Thats literally all that matters especially if my life or my families lives depend on it.
Diversity derives from the word division. How can division be our strength? United we stand divided we fall. Also his dad may want to demand a DNA test because there is no way in hell he is genetically half African. Unless his father is from South Africa. Also according to him I'm basically black too! My genetics are 100% European but I grew up in a black neighborhood. I didn't realize there was a difference between white and black until I went to school and other white children told me about it in the '80s. You know what that makes me? White.
"Diversity is Our Strength"....I can remember this requirement was pushed by our company's HR department starting in 2010. I worked for a major beverage company and I was told that my next three sales reps hired, should be non- white female regardless of their experience. I can sadly say that we had to increase our quota at the cost of having a now revolving door of people being hired on and being terminated within a few weeks to months as they can't meet expectations.
As i recall, the old model of AA back in 80s said that if all other things were equal the minority candidate would be selected, which reflected the make up of the population in the area. That sounds fair and makes sense to me.
My insurance company tried to give me a new doctor. This doctor was named after a mass murderering Pee Dough File. I refused treatment and demanded an actual doctor.
It doesn’t lower standards, it changes them to unimportant ones, for certain people. In certain professions (MDs, Pilots, Ship Captains, Officers in the military, …), it doesn’t matter WHO you are, it matters WHAT you do and HOW WELL you do it. There are certain jobs where it doesn’t matter, and there are others where it does.
Sorry but in the medical field it does. The DEI students and hires have lower admission scores and lower overall academic scores that medical students did previously. Same in nursing. That being said, there have been and still are some people of color who have always met and exceeded the standards.
I’m not saying that all else is equal. I’m saying it shifts the standards to unimportant ones. Whereas before, merit was the most important criterium, DEI places more importance on optics (or melanin shade, or sexual preference…). In life or death situations, optics don’t matter.
Everyone thinks this way, the question is the amount of time they spend doing it. Woke people don't think about it very much, people like Charlie take a reasonable amount of time to consider

Because they don't even know what a crux is, let alone who died on one.
Unity is strongest.
I want the best doctor
You can't have it. you have to accept one that only got half the answers right on the exam. other wise you will be portrayed as a racist. don't worry there is a fifty fifty chance you will live.
D. E. I=Didn't Earn It.
He'll yeah Charlie 🤙🏾
My eyes!!
USMC 97 to 01 here. I cannot get over the BS of how some of these guys get medically discharged. The dude's MOS was that of some sort of aircraft mechanic, how the hell does he injure out?
As long as there qualified great, if not then there is a problem pure and simple.
Diversity could be our strength… but not if any particular group always plays the victim card. If most every racial group chose to adapt and work through hardship instead of blaming their problems on someone else then we’d become the strongest nation on earth… but that doesn’t seem to be on the agenda.
I can't believe this is even a conversation.
Diversity of interests, skills and talents are what a society needs to flourish. The demographics of skin tone and gender are meaningless.
Regardless of DEI, when has ANYONE experienced Excellence in any level of government??
Excellence will “short-circuit” the growth of the government’s administrative state and cost to taxpayers.
At least he was civil.
I appreciate the video title. Many titles attack the speakers as woke or liberal for asking good questions, like this man did.
How can I identify as an aircraft and be hired by united airlines?
You can't paint a Lead Bar Gold then Sell it as GOLD!
Forced diversity is leading to downfall of this country. We need most qualified for the task. Imagine forced diversity in NBA (13% blacks, 4% Asians and 19% Hispanics on every team)
Retired at 7 year's? Pretty sure you're contract was up
"I was born a poor black child" Steve Martin in (The Jerk).
His sweatshirt says it all!
Why does EVERY person that was in the military that SOMEHOW has a "Disability" manage to tell you that in the first few seconds of speaking with you? Why?
Because it’s really easy to receive if you want out.
Chair force ?
Medically retired???
Got it........
ARMY STRONG💪🇺🇸
Funny how he basically proved Charlie's argument by pointing out that he's able to identify as white and get a different response.
funny when someone suppports DEI but when you call them a DEI hire they are offended like??!
Idgaf, what race or religion someone is as long as they are skilled at what they do. Thats literally all that matters especially if my life or my families lives depend on it.
Charlie is one smart individual who isn’t afraid to battle and answer sensitive woke questions from anyone.
When skill is replaced by DEI, we're in big trouble.
If you see a black United Airlines pilot you have every right to question his or her credentials.
What Charley is saying is simply logic.
He is a very beautiful black polite gentleman
Diversity derives from the word division. How can division be our strength? United we stand divided we fall.
Also his dad may want to demand a DNA test because there is no way in hell he is genetically half African. Unless his father is from South Africa. Also according to him I'm basically black too! My genetics are 100% European but I grew up in a black neighborhood. I didn't realize there was a difference between white and black until I went to school and other white children told me about it in the '80s. You know what that makes me? White.
Conditional probability
"Diversity is Our Strength"....I can remember this requirement was pushed by our company's HR department starting in 2010. I worked for a major beverage company and I was told that my next three sales reps hired, should be non- white female regardless of their experience. I can sadly say that we had to increase our quota at the cost of having a now revolving door of people being hired on and being terminated within a few weeks to months as they can't meet expectations.
The Air Force is like the Army for smart people.
No, the AF is for the ones who can't cut front line combat or any hard physical labor.
Same with native people in 🇨🇦 they only need 60 % in most programs i was rejected from engineering with a 95 average
I wish there was a study of the demographics of the doctors and surgeons DEI advocates select to treat themselves.
Charlie Kirk knows his stuff and can argue perfectly. This is the best way to disarm the loonie left 👍🏻
???
Sorry but in the medical field it does. The DEI students and hires have lower admission scores and lower overall academic scores that medical students did previously. Same in nursing. That being said, there have been and still are some people of color who have always met and exceeded the standards.
It objectively lowers standards.
@@noelward8047They are clueless. Some liberal probably explained it to them.
I’m not saying that all else is equal. I’m saying it shifts the standards to unimportant ones. Whereas before, merit was the most important criterium, DEI places more importance on optics (or melanin shade, or sexual preference…). In life or death situations, optics don’t matter.
Diversity is a strength when is achieved based on merits..
This dude literally said “because im white “ 6 times. Yo im black
If you are my pilot and you are dressed like that, I worry.
If diversity is so important/equal, why does one particular race of people pay 85-90 percent of All Taxes?
Everyone pays taxes dingbat
Everyone thinks this way, the question is the amount of time they spend doing it. Woke people don't think about it very much, people like Charlie take a reasonable amount of time to consider
People need to understand bell curves, sample sizes, medians, averages, etc. If I said I'm only going to hire 6'5" and above cooks at my restaurant, how many qualified cooks am I going to find who are 6'5" and above?! So there will inevitably be some randos hired because of a superficial feature rather than anything else that actually matters
