  • Acceleration test with the Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.2JTDm delivering 240hp and 520Nm of torque through a 8-speed automatic by ZF and rwd.
    Stage 1 tuning software by Squadra Tuning in The Netherlands. They took the car from 136hp and 400nm to 240hp and 520nm.
    Rear Wheel Drive on stock 17" wheels with 225/50 R17 Michelin Primacy 3.
    *Filmed on a German Autobahn with no speed limit.

    What a great transmission those ZF. It knows that the torque of a diesel engine ends after 4000 rpm and it shift very agressif when needed true the gears.

    I love the way it drops back from 4000rpm to 3000rpm but when it's just having that gear change just before 100kph it drops straight onto peak power at 3500rpm to push it through with a better 0-100kph time.. Funny.

      Best 0-100km/h time on stock tires 6.21sec, on semi slicks 5.92sec. Timed with dragy box.

    It goes very nicely! I don't find much pleasure in this short fast shifts, or the noises that the engine makes, but its definitely a nice car

    How did you do it? I have a 180hp Giulia and would want to tune it too. But I never did anything like that, so I'm afraid to do/purchase smth wrong.

    Accelerazione a dir poco fantastica, un 0-200 complessivo sotto i 21 secondi. Fino ad ora l'ho vista salire su 25 secondi circa. Comunque per non far rompere la turbina (un rischio) forse sarà meglio cambiare Downpipe, la turbina potrebbe avere uno shock termico ed infine la rottura, sapendo che il motore per le sue componenti ha il massimo della potenza. Che ne pensi?

      Argomento poco conosciuto e poco consigliato! Spiegando la seconda ; molti preparatore,alla fine ,spiegando valore tecnico problemi dopo rimappatura,non lavorando più in questo modo facile ..Vai rimappi finito la! Sono quasi 20 anni,ho capito che la mappatura non serve a nulla ! Sulla giulia,ho fatto scarico completo 76,partendo dal downpipe,non solo una questione per rullare 257cv ,una questione per il motore,problematica dpf..Temperature olio stratosferico! Dopo questo lavoro ,temperature olio quasi sempre stabile 4/5 tacche ,visto che la pompa variabile..consumo pari ad un 1.3 mjt..Rimuovere il dpf,egr,significa inserire nella coppa olio ,4.3 lt olio ,non il classico 3,6 lt olio ,dovuto al mancato fine rigenerazione..

      @@jorglopezsilva5451 he is saying that if you remove the DPF, then you can fill with 4.3 litres of engine oil instead of 3.6 litres, because without DPF the rigeneration doesn't start and the oil level doesn't increase (so, you can fill in more oil).

      It’s definitely a great car! I don’t exactly recall the fuel consumption, I don’t own this car anymore and I didn’t really pay attention to it. The car was way to good to drive slow ;)

    Hi guys, I have a tuned `16 150HP RWD auto Super. Dyno showed 219HP/460Nm after the remap. Though I have a feeling that it limits the power in the 1st gear and then shoots after switching to the 2nd and up. Cannot get such a quick acceleration as in the video. Anyone experienced similar stuff? My rear tyres are 225 wide and not 245 or 255, maybe this is the reason?

      Try to change the clutch . Some vendors like JTDM have reinforced clutchs and also reinforced turbos.

      There are one Guy with an GIULIA 2.2 MT (160hp) upgraded to 270 HP that drive in nurburgring

      @@mariok3222 it's an automatic. Some time ago I had an issue with e brake and traction control went off. It launched like a rocket. I am sure they all are electronically downpowered in 1st and maybe 2nd gear. Unless you install race mode. Cheers

      The first gear is simply too short to spool up the turbocharger.. try with brake boost.. push the brake pedal and reach 1500/1700 rpm listening the turbo’s spooling.. when it starts to whistle go full gas and release the brake at same time. You will feel a different pushing 😎

    Is the engine and accessories all the same through the diesel models? Like intercooler and turbo? This remapping potential is exactly why i bought the 150hp version also

      TigeroL42 They all have the same tuning potential. The 136,150 and 180hp are identical. The 210hp Veloce diesel has another intercooler (liquid cooled vs air cooled for the normal versions). The only difference that makes is when you push the car very hard for a long time in warmer weather. The non Veloce versions will limit the power and torque for safety, while the Veloce will keep going a bit longer (theoretical). But on the public roads I never experienced any problems with heat, only on the Nurburgring she slows down by the end of the track. The tuned rwd versions are significantly faster than the awd cars -in dry weather ofcourse-, so you made a great choice 👍🏼

      @@juanbugatti490 Wow thanks for the info. It's awesome Alfa went with this approach and just makes me think more that this is the ultimate sedan by all attributes. I guess the gasoline versions are built the same way? The diesel engine is really nice, very revvy and smooth at anything over idle.
      Have you had experiences of the different audio upgrades? I have complete stock audio, not even the mid version and still it beats the shit out of e class audio especially when talking about BT quality. I mean how much better can the HK audio kit be? 😁

      È la temperatura dell' olio, comunque su Giulia anche sulle stock se tirate arriva a 6 tacche, oltre non va.

      La casa madre consiglia un olio per un andatura regolare, quando si rimappa e si rimuove il fap di regola va rivisto anche l’olio, uno 0w20 che sta sempre a 100/110 gradi che durata ha? vabbè fate voi !

      @@borceeeeeeee in the Netherlands we have Sqaudra tuning nunspeet. they do a really good job. You have to search for an professional tuner who knows what he is doing.

      transmission is officialy rated for 500nm so 505 would be fine

      The ZF transmission is very strong. Don’t worry about it. The manual transmission can bring some problems. I brake boosted mine all the time, with a lot of launches. Never any issue with the gearbox.

      Stock exhaust, like the entire car. Only software remapping from Squadra was done.

      To my understanding it’s the 6MTI300 gearbox, and it should be good up to 350nm. Squadra tuning claims on their website it can handle up to 440nm.

      At the time I owned the car there was no hardware available for those things. Everything stock, just remapped software.

    I just bought giulia too
    Its the cheaper 150hp version and i would like to tune it. There is one site here in Finland u can check your cars potential, it says to giulia from 150 hp -> 237 hp :O :O
    But there is one thing: i have manual transmission, what u think will it suffer?

      Hi. I can’t find the right information anymore. But the manual gearbox can not handle the horsepower and torque of a full remap. I thought they limit the power at 220hp and the torque at 450nm (not sure). Check the website of Squadra tuning in the Netherlands. He is a real expert in Alfa’s and he has all the technical info very well explained on the website (in English as well).

      @@arberilir6764 Squadra advises not to go over 220hp and 440nm, Although the 6MTI300 gearbox is just rated for 350nm so the stock torque already a little over that at stock 380nm. I've heard of 3 people with (early cars) stock MT cars who had gearbox issues. So, be careful.

      5 bars is normal. 6 bars is over 120 degrees and it will cut down the power to 136hp. 7 bars is alarming. No worries 👍🏼

      My average fuel consumption went up with about 0,5L/100km, but that's because of my right foot. On the highway with 120km/h on cc the fuel consumption is exactly the same as before. The shifting is the same, there was nothing done to the transmission software. But it's great the way it is, it doesn't need anything done to it.

      Blaso Racing It doesn’t need a transformation or anything. The 136, 150 and 180 are identical to each other. The 210 is also the same engine, but there are some differences in the cooling of the turbo. This means the 136, 150, 180 and 210hp versions have the same results after tuning. The only difference is when you take the manual gearbox, this manual transmission can only take up to 220hp and 440nm after tuning while the automatic is factory rated at 500nm (+10% margins of course).

      ​@@lucablasotta3059 No, there was no hardware changed on my car. A intercooler is something i'm planning on in the near future. But only for the purpose expending the lifespan of the engine/turbo, not for extra power. At this moment the only limiting factor of power is the transmission, the engine/turbo configuration could easily handle more power the way it is.

      Lo zf che monta la giulia 2.2 (non so la 2.0) tiene fino a circa 650nm se non ricordo male. La mia giulia ora ha 220cv e 540nm di coppia ed é tranquilla, di base aveva 150cv e 450nm

      la teoria è una cosa e la pratica è un'altra. Se vuoi farla durare a lungo, stai sempre sotto ai 500 Nm . Nel breve termine può sembrare che le rimappe oltre 500 vadano bene, ma le sorprese arrivano quando si iniziano a macinare km. occhio
