JK doesn't usually sing in this register, I was so surprised how good he sounded here. I do hope he works on the English pronounciation during the full recording. We know he is so capable of that, his English in Waste It On Me even sounded better to me than RM which was totally unexpected. I can't wait for the full song.

This song is so beautiful!! He released this as a gift for Army on his birthday and I could not be more excited to hear the full song. It's such a different side of what we usually hear from him. We never hear his lower register which is a shame. It's what I've been wanting to hear from him for AGES because his lower register is gorgeous!! The fact that this is also an original song from him makes it even better.
He did sing in a low register sometimes so I'm not surprised at all, he always did it so well. Like on Arirang, Otsukare, his first line on Fake Love, on some of his covers like Lost Stars and Only then, even If you. But it's true that he hasn't much opportunities to show it on BTS' music.
@@antitocba07 right. I'm not surprised about his lower register. It's always been gorgeous but Jungkook rarely if ever sings in his lower register. In BTS, his lines dont go very deep. All the low notes go to V. But I knew his lower register was beautiful and it was always my wish for Jungkook to explore his voice more as an artist. Releasing Decalcomania which is him mainly singing in his lower register is one of the thing I've always wanted to hear from him. I'm so proud of Jungkook.

My heart smiles so so big when you talk about Jungkook like this. Jungkook is such an amazing vocalist and he is just a star. Lately he has been experiencing so so much with his vocals and he is only getting stronger. Our main vocal is coming through.

I agree with you. As times passes by I can see more and more of Jungkook's big potential for Western music. The type of music he likes, his singing, his color voice everything matches perfectly for it. I remember how even on Billboard smn said Jungkook is the one he thought stand out the most and who more people would vote to be a star performer. I seriously think he born for this, he's amazing at everything and that big sensitivity of him will make him take good choices musically if he someday goes solo.

This song makes me so sad for him. It so clearly expresses how he struggles with his persona as Jungkook, BTS member and Jeon Jeong-guk, the boy from Busan. He's spent his formative years as Kookie "the golden Maknae", so it's understandable, but I wish that they had more freedom to be themselves. There is so much pressure on BTS to be "perfect" but they're just young men who should be allowed to live a normal life too. Why can't they go to Paris and drink and hang out with girls without having Antis come after them? Why can't they leave their dorms to get a quick bite to eat without having Saesangs chase them down? Why can't they shop or hang out with family and friends without having their privacy violated? I get it. I know the answers, I do. It is what it is, but...it makes me so sad nonetheless.

I agree, I always thought that Jungkook was more so fitting towards western pop...but like you said, he does it really well! It's interesting that you noted his new vocal tone/range because we noticed it too! I feel like this new tone is also really close to what he did in heartbeat. All in all, this song is really beautiful, I managed to cry to it for two hours 😂

Young K from Day6 has a really good English accent but he did go to high school in Canada so idk if it counts but Sungjin (also from Day6) has pretty good pronunciation and he like Jungkook is trying to learn English but is not fluent. I also know EXO has some really good English covers.

Totally agree with what you think respect to Jungkook. Personally, some time ago already discussed it with someone that I would love to hear his voice, his tone, his stamp on the present. I think it's fair and necessary to be oblivious to what is molded for vowels within BTS. Interestingly, I love the sound of the English language of JK and I love this sample. Kookie's voice is so beautiful and this song on the surface is too, but the lyrics just stab me right in the heart. It reminds me of when he inferred that BTS' Jungkook is everything, means everything while Jungkook himself means/is nothing. 🙁 I just want to hug him.
This song is very much Kookie's style. If you look at covers he likes to do, he likes these really kind of soft and understated, almost melancholy in your feels type songs. Or EDM. He really likes that too. 😜 But, honestly, I'm personally not worried about a beat coming into this song in particular, it feels to me like Kookie would keep this same soft, introspective sound throughout the whole song as it fits the theme of the lyrics.

I remembered during an interview, Steve Aoki talking about Rm and Jungkook singing "Waste It On Me". When they sent him their 1st recording, he liked it very much and didn't want to change anythings. He liked their way of singing and their accents which were as authentic and original as they were. It's appropriate to speak or sing with proper English pronunciation but I feel that Jungkook will lose his Korean authenticity as a non-English singer and becomes like many other English mainstream singers. In fact, his English has improved tremendously and on many occasions, he always talked about learning English. Anyway, he sings and sounds good here. Just my thought... Thank you!
I was about to comment the same. For me personally would prefer him to sing in English without losing his Korean accent, maybe with a clearer articulation than this sample, but still i kinda want him to sing in English with accent the way he sang it in "Waste it on Me"
I agree. What makes him unique is his Korean accent and I personally enjoy the different pronunciations. To me it's so much more interesting and I prefer this over perfectly pronounced English. This song is very haunting to me and Im curious to see how it will continue lyrically.

I think his pronunciation in this song is actually really good for the song. Because it just adds to it's rawness and it's smoothness.
I love how Jino sees through Jungkook and how he applauds his talents. It's sweet how people love him because he is cute and just the purest soul out there but it's also great to hear someone appreciate and acknowledge how amazing and impressive he is, especially by someone who knows what he is talking about. I think Jino's words weigh more to me because I know that he is only being objective and honest.

the reason i follow bts because i hear western pop in their songs and that's mostly from jk's parts. his falsetto is my fave, but when he does vocal cries it became my fave too...and now he is adding rasp and i'm so loving it!😊

I also want to add, we know Jungkook is super talented. But i'm glad years ago he picked Big Hit not the other bigger company, and meet the other members. It's like destiny.This journey with his team members is what makes him the man he is today. They taught and inspired him a lot.

I'm not sure about his whole pronunciation, but I find his very good. He has a done a lot of covers of songs. I wanted to point out most of the time not just in English, but a singer can sing a language that isn't their own better than they could speak it. Not always and it depends on how much they practice, but I think that is a commonish thing among singers. Maybe this was a style choice who knows. I agree that I can't wait for the release of this song.

Regarding the perfume and your investors, I am sure you have already thought of this, but I would also show them the way everything BTS touches sells out (Jungkook mentioned a fabric softener - sold out, he drank a wine while trying to cover the brand - sold out, V wore a handcrafted paint palette pin - sold out, JK and V wear bracelets - sold out, BTS advertises for Hyundai Palisades - back order, etc.) and the fact that currently V's perfume is sold out everywhere in the world.
