My grandfather bought one of these new when they first came out and drove it until 1965, when the highway speed went up to 55, the old car was too slow and danger to him and others so he went and sold it for 725.00 which was a 100.00 more than he paid for it brand new. He of course bought another Ford, this time it was a Ford falcon which he drove until 1994, and he at a age of 101, he passed it on to me, and then in 2000, it was stolen and never seen it again since
Why did they use wood and vinyl to cover the rood instead of a solid metal roof like what they use today?
I believe the reason was that they couldn't stamp and form such a big peace of metal in that kind of shape.
