This knife is kind of like if the Military and the Delica had a baby. It really doesn’t feel much like a Police model to me aside from the handle shape. They’ve completely changed the blade grind to the same full flat as the Endura/Delica, and that unique grind on the Police model is what really distinguished it from everything else in the line. This feels to me more like they just took an Endura and stretched it a bit and added a finger choil.
Great review, thanks! I recently picked up a Delica to see what all the fuss was about. I was quite surprised with how much I liked the design, ergos, and how solid it feels despite being FRN. As a result I just preordered the Police 4 LW in K390. It will be my hiking knife, for shorter hikes, when I don't have a backpack w/ a fixed blade. I normally EDC ~3.5inch blades so I'm not anticipating a lot of EDC use, but I will certainly give it a go!

looks like a great knife for a farmer/rancher--not likely to get lost in the pocket, and not threatening to livestock. with the vg 10, i can see it being sharpened on the bottom of a coffee cup, or an old worn sharpening stone, or maybe an old file. then there is police 4 lightweight in k390, my choice.

I handled one the other day and closed it the same way I do with the Delica and Endura by dropping the blade. The extra length almost bit me too!

I tried one at the store and it’s detent was rather stiff, certainly didn’t flip right open with a thumb press. Do these take a while to loosen up?
Not really. Backlock will stay stiff like that

It's nice to compare with old police. Not other knifes.
code 4 is not a large knife
