IDK why but I prefer the Chimera Shadow even though the Project BMX looks more like a bike I had in the 80s.... There's just something about it and I'd love to see the Shadow w/ mag wheels. 😍🖤
Building homemade e-bikes is fun and actually pretty affordable if you go with the kinds of hub drive setups you see on most ebikes. However, it gets pretty expensive to achieve this kind of performance/power-to-weight ratio. The only DIY kit on the market that can come close to competing with us is the CYC X1 gen4. The starting cost is $1250 for just the motor system and their cheapest battery is an additional $480. The motor prices for us and them and anyone else trying to make light bikes move fast are mostly an economy of scale issue. High performance lightweight ebikes and ebike kits are still somewhat niche. Manufacturing costs on low volumes are high. So the stuff is expensive. Hopefully it'll catch on.
I dig the project bmx glad the paid attention to your video & will implement those updates u mentioned. The only other thing they need to do is a way to add another battery for extra range. How comfy is the seat

I'm not even into the mags 😪 - the spoked out ones look better IMO but I'm not a fan of how the battery and seat look
