Yep basically the only way Jack can record with them is because he more or less lives on NYC time if his tweeting and tumbling hours are any indications.
Here are some tips I used when I played this game which helped me survive quiittee a while.
1) Make your base somewhat near a pig village. That way, if you happen to come across hounds, etc., the pigs will help you fight them off, which is an awesome bonus. Make sure your base isn't too close to the pig village though, as they will eat your food/seeds and if there is a full moon, the pigs will turn into werepigs and attack you.
2) Once you build your science machine, and then make your alchemy machine, hammer your science machine so you can get a decent amount of the resources you used back. There is no need to keep the science machine, it is just a waste of space.
3) If you are lucky, place your base pretty close to a spider den and pig houses so the pigs will attack the spiders, providing you with silk and spider sacs. This is very useful, and you can also plant spider eggs if you take down a tier three den.
4) Don't make your base too close to a cave entrance when opened, as batillisks will come after you.
5) If you happen to get a beefalo horn, use it around a herd of beefalos and drag them into a closed space blocked off with brick walls. This is useful because you can now farm the beefalos, providing you with manure and beefalo woll/fur if shaved.
6) Gather many butterflies and plant them to provide you with flowers. This is useful for the bee boxes and your sanity.
7) If you happen to have a pond near your base, it is nice to have pig houses somewhat near them as the pigs will kill the frogs providing you with frog legs.
8) Don't use logs to fuel up your fire. It is a waste. Don't fire up your fire unless it is in serious need of igniting. Simply use the extra pine cones you can gather from chopping trees or any item that is flammable and stacks up quickly.
9) Make sure you are somewhat near the rock terrain, as gathering gold nuggets and rocks can be extremely useful.
10) If your base is near a desert(ROG), make sure there are no hound mounds near. In the summer or spring (I forget which season) you can gather cactus flowers which provide a pretty good boost in health, and if cooked in the crock pot, you can create flower salad (easiest is cactus flower, carrotx3 or cactus flower, mushroomsx3) which gives you 40 health points if made.
11) If you plant berry bushes, make sure they are near corners so if a gobbler spawns it will be easy to murder.
12) Rabbit holes are useful but don't last forever. There is a mod to plant rabbit holes which is extremely useful, but isn't very necessary.
13) Catcoons (ROG) are nice to have nearby as they kill butterflies, birds, and most other small creatures. If you destroy one of their homes, they drop many items. 9 catcoons live in one tree hole, so if one dies another will spawn. Catcoons will kill each other, though. If you feed a catcoon a certain amount of food they will stay beside you for a while, aiding you through some troubles, but they are pretty slow.
14) It is nice to have a separate farm of everything; berry bushes, saplings, trees, grass, beefalo, etc.
15) If you burn a tree, you will get charcoal which can help you make a crock pot and a drying rack, which are important items to survive in Don't Starve.
16) I think it's a bad idea to have your base IN a marsh area, as merms and tentacles are everywhere. It's nice to have one pretty close to gather reeds and tentacle spikes, though.
17) It is very useful to have a fridge/freezer as food takes up a lot of space. You need a small amount of gears to make a freezer, though. You can get gears from clockworks which are scattered around the map, and for me, they are pretty hard to find!
18) If you get wet goop or rot, use it as fertilizer! Don't waste manure for fertilizer when you can use the easiest resources for your crops.
19) If you have mushrooms and aren't too fancy of them, feed it to the pigs to provide you with manure. There are decent crock pot dishes for mushrooms, though.
20) When I first start off with a new world, I immediately go looking for grass, twigs, and flint. Make sure you make your mining pick BEFORE your axe (unless you see a lot of flint) because when you mine a boulder, you will earn more flint, that way you can make an axe. Then, you can chop your wood. But if there are no boulders around, then don't bother making a mining pick first.
Okay well I'm brainfarted and I wrote a lot so I hoped this helped some new beginners or anyone that needed tips! :)
*Oh, and the backpack does NOT make your hunger go down faster!

A reminder to all those who don't keep up with Klei, Don't Starve Beta is in Closed Beta. If you have not applied during the application time, you will not get a key. You can however gain a key from one of Klei's Livestreams. Don't Starve will get DST sometime in the future. The game is currently $15 and will go to $20 once multiplayer is out. It is on Steam and on their website.
I wish the console ports would get some type of beta, but oh well. Hopefully, when it is finished we can get console MP.

It would be simpler to divide inventories, I'd assume. I haven't played, yet. I'd have one player go for rocks, and trees, and another go after food, and everything else.
Unfortunately can't really do that at the beginning since you need basic supplies to last the night (sticks/logs + grass to make a torch/fire), food for the night, flint and sticks for tools, etc. so you don't want to have each person focus on one thing. First few days you should try to cover as much ground as possible though. Gather as many logs, rocks, sticks, gold and such, try to find beefalo and settle down with an Alchemist Machine and crock pot and go from there. Craft a backpack and a shovel to dig up berry bushes, then you're free to do whatever once you have a steady supply of berries, meat from spiders, then your option of bee boxes, farms, and/or bird cages for food.
I still avoid spiders... and all things mean. lol I always end up fighting a crowd. That is, assuming I don't have a pig village, or an eye plant nearby.
Spiders are actually really easy to handle. You can just make traps in order to lure them in, just make sure you do it during the daytime. Step on the edge of the web to lure them out. Have three traps ready and plop them down as the spiders come out. If the nest is tier 3, do it three times, then when you're going to break the nest, put two as close as possible to the nest in order to capture the Spider Warrior that comes out. It's a lot safer than trying to melee them down and it also doesn't trigger the spider warriors to come out (except the ones "defending" the t3 nest)

This game would have gone in a far different direction if I knew you could use traps on spiders... I thought they were only for small animals.
Haha, spiders are considered small compared to a lot of things like Beefalo :p Worse case scenario, you can always kite the normal spiders! They can get stun locked if you focus one, just be sure to not get overwhelmed by them. Doesn't work on the warriors though. Good luck if you play more~ Also, another tip if you have issues trapping rabbits, if you plop the trap as close as you can to the top of their hole, when they come out in the morning they'll be caught almost 90% of the time.

My channel has been around for so long, and I'm only now finally getting it to grow more and more. >< It takes so much effort- WHICH I LOVE, DON'T GET ME WRONG, the process is amazing and editing sometimes is just SO damn exciting and my viewers are SO DAMN LOYAL and AMAZING- but it blows my mind and kinda makes me so jealous that Bob was able to grow so fast and so quickly. He got to skip the grueling process of being small and putting SO much into your channel before seeing a change. I love every minute of it, and I know that later I wouldn't give this time up for the world, but sometimes it's SO demoralizing TTOTT
Also, I completely understand that 9 hour difference between LA and the UK. I have loads of friends over there that I never get to play with because by the time I wake up, they're like, about to fall asleep. It's kinda sad TTOTT
Anyway, enough complaining over here. I love watching these two ^_^ They work so well together.

In reply to your description of the process: I am so jelous, that you have passed the initial stage of invisibility already and it must have needed incredible effort to get where you are now so kudos to you!
