One of my favourite ABBA songs. This is one of those songs that has the ability to make me both happy & sad at the same time. The key change towards the end is amazing.
This is one of my early favourites. Fab song, inspired by Phil Spector's 'Wall of Sound' production techniques. I agree that it would work stunningly well in a movie setting. It would be a real tear-jerker!!
one of the first bands to harmonize with themselves. Singing the highs and the lows by multi tracking their voices ove the main voices. It gave them a full sound.
extremely underrated song.. Think it was on their first Greatest Hits Album which came out about 1976.. I know because they played the album all night on my primary school leaving party December 1976.
Very good song,I havent seen anyone else doing a reaction on this..its not one of the most talked about ABBA songs either, for some reason that I cant understand, I really think its a very strong and good ABBA song...its for sure a hidden gem song...one of many from ABBA...I hope that youtube can give great gems like more attention that it deserves...
Oh my god, this makes me so nostalgic. Agnethas has the voice of a goddess. And at 07:06 you came in just a little too late for a detail that always made my heart jump, where she sings "why did things turn out so bad" where it sounds like she "rolls" on the d in "bad". it is so subtle, but it had such an impact on me. I have spent hours listening to those kinds of details. Of course, this was back in the 70's when I was a teenager.
This is my absolute favourite 'old' abba and brings memories from childhood. Pleasant singing both verses by Agnetha and chorus first B&B then with girls, get's stronger through the end. Did You review 'So Long' from this album?
Jay I love this song I knew it from abeing a B side of the f 45 I Do I Do I Do (I think it was that One) When I first discovered it I Fell in love with it Nobody knew it as it didn't get airplay, but i used to play it when ever I was playing music It is one of those songs I never got tired of Listening to it know and seeing your reaction bring back my initial love of this I'm so glad you liked it I always loved the key change ( and there are 2 LOVE IT !!) There music is sort or melencholly and uplifting at the same time Definatly sounds nostalgic and it did in the 70's when I discovered it Thanks for a great review and reaction Bill
no doubt about it lol this is my fav track off waterloo. this was never a single a side in america but was a b side. should have been the hit side. it would have been a hit/ the half step modulation i now always use when i write my own songs. made quite an impression on me when i first heard this incredible song
Thank you again! Their first period is for me "the music of happy people", it is jovial, full of lightness, almost carefree, people in love, happy with their lives, too repetitive, a little, before they evolve without limit means of production. Their musical periods are evolutionary. and Also in this period there is also "suzy hang around". 😘
I am so glad you liked this song. One of my favorites. It's from their first album, undeservedly underrated. Listen to My Mama Said from the same album. Thank you!
Perceptive review as usual. Try Another Town Another Train, and Santa Rosa, two more overlooked early songs. The latter I really thought was a Monkees song. Abba never disappoints!
Hey everybody.. Hello from New Zealand.. Loved abba from a very young age.. Lovelight is another underrated, excellent song.. Its the b side to chiquitita
I think with the younger generation they only know the hits (not all of them but the popular ones) but with over 100 songs in their catalogue it goes to show the magnitude of this great band (2nd only to The Beatles)
It has such a lovely melody. One of the best from Waterloo. I've been Waiting For You from the Abba album has a similar flavour. Ditch your advisory council of Abba selections. They recommended Watch Out above this!
Jaybriel, I've never payed too much atention to this track. Now, listening with headphones, I've noticed how good the arrangement and the recording were,e specially if one considers the year... Greetings from Brazil
hello Jay, so nice to see you with another ABBA reaction "Dance (while the music still goes on)" is a beautiful song, it's nice to hear it, it has a very nice introduction by Agnetha and a very catchy and adorable chorus it's true from the album Waterloo you only did two, this is the third I could suggest: Hasta mañana (lead voice Agnetha) Gonna sing you my love song (lead voice Frida) Suzy hang around (lead voice Benny) and Honey honey (they alternate verses them and them) and I allow myself a very special request on other occasions you made two reactions to a song and its video (and three with "Summer night city" live) why don't you do a second reaction just to "Waterloo"? long ago you made the official video now I ask you to see the presentation of ABBA competing with "Waterloo" in the Eurovision Song Contest in England 1974, when they won and the door to world knowledge was opened it is a historical moment to ABBA, and you are going to enjoy it, all the ABBA videos and songs that you saw have their origin in that unforgettable night that I invite you to see the link: th-cam.com/video/Vp1_OKawHYw/w-d-xo.html my best regards to You from Buenos Aires Argentina
Out, Does Your Mother Know, usw. anhört!!! Dance ( While The Music Still Goes On), war für Agnetha und Björn,wie gemacht. Harmonie Pur💯🎼🎶🎵👍👍👍👍
I discovered ABBA at the age of 12: their Greatest Hits album had come out in the UK a few months before, and it was cheekily titled, given that they had only registered 3 Top 10 hits at the time, albeit two of them (Waterloo and Mamma Mia) had reached number 1 - the other (SOS - far the best in my opinion) got to number 6 before Mamma Mia, off the back of a run of 3 flops. This track, Dance (While The Music Still Goes On) was on that Greatest Hits album, which - incidentally - was the UK's 2nd-best selling album of the 1970s. Even to my young ears, this was a stand-out track, and why it was never a single, given the options on the Waterloo album, is beyond me. The orchestration, the lyrics and the vocals are so far ahead of anything else that they were doing at the time - it's great to hear someone else appreciate this track!
A similar track of ABBA would be "Move On" from The Album. Super descriptive and motivational, kind of. Their harmonies there are amazing, as always, and the lyrics superb. It comes along with a Spanish version Al Andar
You should react ABBA's "What About Livingstone" which is also from their 1974 Waterloo album. It's one of those tracks most people don't know but it's really good in my opinion (though very different from their later work).
Thanks for the ABBA. Yeah it's a good one. They really weren't very big before Euro-vision. I think they were bigger in their other bands and Agnetha as a solo artist. It's all kinda tied into the Polar Music story. Benny and Bjorn were the new blood there. They wrote and produced all the new bands as well as the bands they were in. They were trying new things and wanting to break into the world market. But the knew the best chance was with what had become ABBA. But they all stayed pretty safe with their other carers too. Agnetha was huge in Sweden as a solo artist. You hear stuff like this and realise what good song writers both were. But they had to kinda invent ABBA to do their stuff. I wish you would react to Benny's 2010 RRHOF speak ---> th-cam.com/video/5jFQLItqFhg/w-d-xo.html It's very touching and he tells where the music came from. Again thanks for the ABBA you do a great job.
You should check out Bruce Springsteen's "The River". It's very different from what most people think of when they here Bruce's name. I'm pretty sure you'd like it based on your previous videos.
yo, i see you like barry manilow well heres one you may not know. New York City Rhythm, i grew up in NYC for 42 years, this song is real life. i left the apple at 42, i'm 64 now but i still miss every beat of those streets. sorry abba not so much.
I'm sorry 😞...I'm an ABBA fan but everytime the men sang I couldn't help but think "bubble gum" music; or even Alvin and the CM's at one point...don't hate me. 😪

From Voulez Vous album i guess one song was missing: I Have A Dream did you already react to it?
An ABBA classic !
And to think this was one of abbas greatest hits.
This song slowly became one of my favorites by ABBA. I really like the sad lyrics and how the entire song is essentially one long chorus.
ya I'm just surprised nobody mentioned this one before
So awesome talent,yet so humble
I love how the key changes get higher and higher thru the song. Only ABBA can do that with their incredible vocal ranges.
One of my favorites. Told you about this ages ago, lol. I love the key changes at the end. One of their most underrated songs.
One of my favourite ABBA songs. This is one of those songs that has the ability to make me both happy & sad at the same time. The key change towards the end is amazing.
Why never heard on radio ever?
This is one of my early favourites. Fab song, inspired by Phil Spector's 'Wall of Sound' production techniques. I agree that it would work stunningly well in a movie setting. It would be a real tear-jerker!!
one of the first bands to harmonize with themselves. Singing the highs and the lows by multi tracking their voices ove the main voices. It gave them a full sound.
See all that technical recording stuff I'm not familiar with.
Thank you Thank you..How could I forgotten this song...?
ABBA has a vast & great catalogue of gems
extremely underrated song.. Think it was on their first Greatest Hits Album which came out about 1976.. I know because they played the album all night on my primary school leaving party December 1976.
Another towm another train is another gem.one of ABBA song that still rings in your ear for a whole day after playing it.
Yeah this song is amazing. I love just about every ABBA song and this one is definitely in my top 5, maybe top 3
What a great sound.
Never heard this before.
She has a incredible voice.
This truly is a great little early number. A wonderfully rich, full wall of sound. Don't forget to listen to Move On.
Very good song,I havent seen anyone else doing a reaction on this..its not one of the most talked about ABBA songs either, for some reason that I cant understand, I really think its a very strong and good ABBA song...its for sure a hidden gem song...one of many from ABBA...I hope that youtube can give great gems like more attention that it deserves...
ya this one is totally great. Totally surprises me all the time when I find these gems.
Never heard this song before. Exciting!
I really like this song, such a happy and peppy song.👍👍💖💖💖💖 good onejay. 💞

'Honey Honey' and 'Hasta Manana' are 2 other good tracks from this album.
...and "Hasta Manana" has an unforgettable music video th-cam.com/video/PrQSJ8z3dZg/w-d-xo.html ...
Also "My Mama Said" and "Gonna Sing You My Lovesong"
This is my absolute favourite 'old' abba and brings memories from childhood. Pleasant singing both verses by Agnetha and chorus first B&B then with girls, get's stronger through the end. Did You review 'So Long' from this album?
Honey Honey is another track for the Waterloo album that you should react to. I think there is also a video for it as well.

Hey - thanks for the review - and for exploring their catalog - one of their hidden gems 💎 from the early years
Thanks for the reminder. This was probably my favourite when I was, like, five
If you liked this you may like I Do I Do I Do I Do. Great Sax accompaniment on this one. Keep up the good work. I always enjoy your reaction

hello Jay, so nice to see you with another ABBA reaction
"Dance (while the music still goes on)" is a beautiful song, it's nice to hear it, it has a very nice introduction by Agnetha and a very catchy and adorable chorus it's true
from the album Waterloo you only did two, this is the third
I could suggest:
Hasta mañana (lead voice Agnetha)
Gonna sing you my love song (lead voice Frida)
Suzy hang around (lead voice Benny)
and Honey honey (they alternate verses them and them)
and I allow myself a very special request
on other occasions you made two reactions to a song and its video (and three with "Summer night city" live)
why don't you do a second reaction just to "Waterloo"?
long ago you made the official video
now I ask you to see the presentation of ABBA competing with "Waterloo" in the Eurovision Song Contest in England 1974, when they won and the door to world knowledge was opened

Benny wrote the lyrics and sung as the lead voice in "Susy hang around" for only one time in all ABBA songs
While you are exploring their early songs @Jaybriel Akoi please do Gonna Sing You My Lovesong, beautiful vocals from Frida.
So you are a Abba fan. Great choice =)
There was a story behind it. Bjorn had written the song after his and Agnetha’s fallout in their relationship.
Move on is very good ,also
ya someone else was recommending that too.
Wow everytime I hear a new Ong I realize just how talented they were...can't wait for the 2021 ABBA music drop

It's awesome hearing stories of your ages when you first heard abba. My experiences were def different singers and groups.
Check the reggae song from this album
Tropical loveland. 👍
Reminds me of Don't Worry Baby by the Beach Boys
I don't know enough beach boys to agree or disagree
@@jaybrielakoi7747 next song!

@@jaybrielakoi7747 Really excited for your reaction on that!!! ^o^
i don't know why bjorn shied away from his vocals he was pretty good imo
... But nothing compared to Frida and Agnetha.
You should react ABBA's "What About Livingstone" which is also from their 1974 Waterloo album. It's one of those tracks most people don't know but it's really good in my opinion (though very different from their later work).
They use the word Dance as both the end of a sentence and the start of a sentence.
didn't realize that. It's a strong word.
Thanks for the ABBA. Yeah it's a good one. They really weren't very big before Euro-vision. I think they were bigger in their other bands and Agnetha as a solo artist.
