I f'ing love this album. Its recording/mixing/mastering is better than the previous albums. Having two guitars made a huge difference at the time, and this one is more in your face heavy rather than slow stoner heavy. I dunno, I just love it. Probably my favorite EW album.
I think you have a false perception of this album. It's not unsuccessful or unliked. It's just probably too heavy for alot of traditional doom fans, unlike electric wizards s/t or dopethrone. This isn't going to appeal that much to someone that is strictly into like saint vitus, solitude aeturnus, black sabbath, cathedral, etc.
Would have been the perfect song back in the day playing the undead on World of Warcraft. You started any new undead character in a "coffin room" rebirth having died and become the undead.

I like We Live, but it is for me not as well composed as the first 3 LP's, and of course the rhythm section is not as good either

Wish the second half of this song had a nasty solo in the tone of the chorus riff. I feel like it really needed that after the last chorus
