I met her at the NCAA last year. She is a special woman; polite, educated, intelligent. I dont care much how she compares to CC. Ill just be glad to have another fine woman diluting the toxic wnba culture
OK, but we’re not gonna pretend like she’s as popular as Clark let’s not be foolish there’s a lot of people that have no idea who juju is and that’s OK but let’s not pretend otherwise just because we feel we have to.
I actually thought well of her (and her coach) because both tried to avoid the comparison game. Caitlin actually reached out to them to say she would be available if they had questions about how Caitlin had handled all the attention, especially in her junior and senior years. JuJu's coach also said she had talked with Lisa Bluder about how she coached Caitlin to improve her game without decreasing what made Caitlin Caitlin.
It's the name of the game. They want more eyes on them and this is a byproduct of that. The men have to deal with it from the time they're in high school.
@@GenerationalDisappointment middle school. I coached in middle school and those boys were convinced they were going to the NBA and didn't need to bother with school work.
I coached Girls in middle school because of the laughable boys that could barely pass classes or make a layup and sincerely believed they were going to the NBA
Poor JuJu is just NINETEEN YEARS OLD! Let's let her develop. She moves like a hockey player: like she's GLIDING across the floor. She's super exciting. And poor C22's freshman year was COVID so it was really weird. C22 is just a unique talent. Juju will be great too!
I get seriously tired of constant comparisons between athletes, and the ridiculous fights people have over it online. At some point it's a rather subjective thing, and a battle no one can really win. But there's no doubt that JuJu is the real deal, will have a great college career, and on a team that should compete for nattys. I'm from Iowa City, and a huge CC fan, but also really looking forward to watch this young phenom on the rise.
Again, we can have any opinion we want, but the opinion that juju is more popular than Clark is not based on reality is based off of Clark senior year success that carried over the juju no one would be talking about her if Clark wasn’t already a star at the time And it’s not like didn’t do the same thing that juju is doing now and she did it at a higher percentage playing for a team that’s never won a national championship in basketball ever, women’s or men’s. I get people want more women stars but we can just pretend like people are stars overnight just because they comp compared to Clark. Let her have 3 dominant college season then we could talk about her like Clark.
I think people are saying Juju is good, but the real question is whether she has a substantial and growing following. CC’s story is very compelling because she epitomizes an underdog who worked incredibly hard to pursue her passion for basketball and broke records.
You tripping, you need to watch JuJu, I love CC, but JuJu another animal. I really wish we could have seen them face off during march madness, but at least CC got her revenge on Paige. But now its time for JuJu to get her revenge on Paige. It seems like every great one loses to Paige their freshmen year and then face her again and beat her lmaooo. Trust me bro, JuJu is the truth!
Ju Ju is a 6’2 guard who can do it all. Caitlin Clark is leading this new wave of women hoopsters. They’ll get truly appreciated cause the attention Clark brings.
I mean, unless you’re coming close to averaging a triple double for four years in college and you’re leading your team to the tournament every year and you’re carrying them to the Big Ten every year, you can’t really compare her to Clark again. Clark was already a star. That’s why people talking about juju because they want to make comparison to her.
JuJu has a great personality. She'll be good but she plays a more typical basketball style. CC is going to change the whole game. JuJu will be great, but it's in the current style of game.
Why does everyone miss this? CC is the GOAT because she brings millions of fans with her. Paige, Ju Ju… they don’t get butts in seats or eyes on tellys like that. They just don’t. Who knows why. We just know what is.

I never watched Juju so i can't say anything about her game....but there is no player like Caitlin...i mean she does everything..create points for herself and the team also...some players may score same points as CC does some may assist as CC does...but no one can do both at highest level

JuJu Watkins is barely a blip on the radar. You can’t force people to like A’ja Wilson, and same thing with JuJu, and Paige. It has to happen naturally. Let’s see how this college season goes. Geno Auriemma chose Paige Bueckers in 9th grade and started his put downs way back then on Caitlin Clark... cannot stand his arrogance... Caitlin's entire college career he kept saying if Paige was not injured it would be Paige winning all these awards. He had all his UConn WNBA alumni like Diana Taurasi and all the ESPN/UConn alumni put Caitlin Clark down. People are just starting to call him out on him pushing Paige Bueckers over Caitlin Clark for the last five years. Geno Auriemma and Sheryl Swoopes made life miserable for Caitlin Clark. Geno Auriemma has been building up Paige Bueckers since she signed with him in high school and he was actually one of the ones that kept Caitlin off in high school on the 2018 USA team. Caitlin had been in the 2017 team. By that time Paige Bueckers had all ready signed with Geno and UConn. Caitlin minorly hurt her thumb during tryouts and was not playing her best but they all knew how good she was the year before. Geno used one off tryout day to keep Caitlin off 2018 team so Paige Bueckers could shine. Even when Caitlin was breaking all the records in college Geno was constantly saying: If Paige Bueckers had not injured her knee it would be Paige receiving all these awards not Caitlin. Even though Caitlin was breaking all the records Geno would have been using all his influence to have gotten people to give the awards like Player of the Year, Dawn Staley award etc etc to Paige Bueckers if she was playing but she was out injured. He has done that his entire career with his players at UConn.
Geno Auriemma is also, financially in deep now with Paige Bueckers in The Unrivalved League and two other unnamed projects. He needs Unrivalved to succeed and these other unannounced yet things. But most of all Geno needs Paige to be the star of the WNBA this year... Caitlin's fans came from all over... not just Iowa... anyone that watched her play got hooked on watching her. Caitlin created that feeling in fans herself: Not a UConn loaded team with 5 star athletes being pushed by a coach. You need to learn basketball and the roll of a Point Guard and a Two-guard. Mitchell is a Two-guard, she has one responsibility and that's to put points on the board. Now she need to pass if CC is open, I admit there were some issues with that early in the season but that's no longer an issue. But understand the Two/Shooting Guard's roll is to score the ball.

She will become more efficient and a better playmaker. The one thing she has over CC is her size, defense, and pure scoring ability. She already said when she lost this year that she needs to work on her efficiency and has been working with NBA players and NBA trainers. She will be much better this year and with that improved scoring comes more gravity which then makes it easier for her to pass to her teammates. Dont sleep on JuJu

CC actually earned her hype beating undefeated South Carolina in the tourney by dropping 40 on a team that had won almost 50 games in a row, then breaking NCAA scoring records built the hype...Getting to the natty 2x in a row with Iowa, who only made the final four once in 45 years....CC also 3rd all time in assists in NCAA history and was pulling up from 35ft
Her name is ju ju and brown of course shes gonna be better. If clarks name was Rolika Clark we wouldnt be talkin about these people who are nobodys yet.!!!🖐🖐
How is someone no one heard of influential? I followed the tournament somewhat just from listening to ESPN radio and never heard of her before, because all they talked about was Clark and Reese, because it's apparently not possible for the media to talk about Clark without Reese.
It's not just unlikely that Paige will be better. It's damn near-zero odds. Betting odds would be something like +100,000 on a bet that Paige has a season where she sets the single game WNBA assist record, all-time WNBA assist record, WNBA rookie scoring record, second player ever to have two triple doubles in a season, first player ever in WNBA history to record 19-5-8 (and no one ever even did 15-5-6 lol) - Clark just had one of the greatest season in the history of the game, period (forget rookies) - the odds any rookie comes in and tops that is lottery ticket type odds.
I watched a tremendous number of USC games last year. Juju has loads of talent. She was only 18 years old and especially once they got to the tournament you could clearly see the pressure of the games getting to her. Three years is a long time and a lot of maturity away yet…. Time will tell. I do believe that this year will be interesting as the media (ESPN ladies) will be hyping the heck out of juju. Having Kiki on that team is going to change a lot of team dynamics. I actually like Kiki much more than Cameron and I think Cameron is a great player. Kiki’s game is much more complete. Juju points might go down but her assists might go up 3-4 per game if they are clicking.
JuJu is a very talented player. I don’t think she will have the same impact as Caitlin because she is not the facilitator. The vets don’t like to pass to the rookies.

I honestly don't think the Caitlin Clark phenomenon will ever be replicated or surpassed by anyone. It is lightning in a bottle, like the MJ phenomenon was. JuJu will be a popular player in the WNBA and an amazing pro. But she will never have Caitlin's ability to pass the ball, so there will be a cap on how much she can fascinate fans with her play.
JuJu can shoot from anywhere on the floor. CC can't. It's boom or bust for CC with the stupid long threes. CC cost her team the game against the Aces taking an ill informed 3 being down 1 with momentum on their side. We won't even get into all her turnovers

@cyber6sapien everyone knows CC doesn't have a mid range game. If she's going to drive to the basket then she's going to her right. If she goes left it's a 3. She's very predictable. Players can cheat on CC because she can't create her own shot. Just like the Aces funneled her right with Aja waiting for her in the lane. She panicked. Don't believe me watch the game. She's still not physically ready for the W but JuJu is. The eye test tells you who's a more complete player and it's not CC. JuJu cooks CC one on one everyday all day
@@TyLeeper-r1e There's a difference between being a better one on one player versus being a better or more impactful overall player. For example, I can name countless NBA players who are better one on one players than LeBron James, for instance. But I can use Kevin Durant for a specific example. KD can cook LeBron one on one, any day of the week. LeBron is also predictable on offense. Yet he's still a better overall and more impactful player than Durant. Likewise, Kelsey Mitchell is a better one on one player than Caitlin Clark. So is Arike. But the game is not played solely one on one, now is it? And those two players I just mentioned, do not hurt the opponents with their passing ability like Caitlin does. I'm not sure how you concluded that JuJu is a more "complete" player than Caitlin while completely ignoring Caitlin's ability to pass the ball and get her teammates better shots. That gives Caitlin a wole other dimension to her offensive game that JuJu does not possess. At least not to the same degree. And finally, if Caitlin is so predictable offensively, how did she become the all time leading scorer in all of college basketball and how did she break so many rookie scoring records in the WNBA? Maybe her opponents should try to do a more consistent job of stopping her from scoring, since she is so "predictable".

Paige, JuJu and CC are all part of the new generation of womens basketball players. They are more skilled, more dynamic and more athletic. It's great for the womans game overall. Just enjoy it.
These discussions about who will be the next Caitlin Clark are ridiculous. Until you have a player who has multiple videos of their games & highlights go viral, is not only selling out all their home games but also has more fans in the arena at away games too & has record sales of jersey/merch, you will not see a player become the next Caitlin Clark. Media attention didn't make Caitlin Clark popular, it only came when CC was too big for them to ignore Caitlin Clarks popularity has grown organically. In their 2021-2022 season, Iowa & Caitlin Clark were already starting to sell out not only their home games, but also their fans were driving several hours each way to fill the arenas at their away games too. And then videos of CC's highlights started going viral in the 2022-2023 season. So by the time of the 2023 NCAA women's basketball tournament, Caitlin Clark already had a huge fanbase. That is why those games broke viewership numbers. As so many have pointed out before, Caitlin Clark is not only a great basketball player, she makes everyone around her play better. So when you watch Caitlin Clark's basketball games, you know that everyone on the floor is playing their best & it is going to be a great basketball game. And that is why Caitlin Clark is so popular.
This girl is definitely gonna be a HUGE star. If you haven’t seen her play go watch her . She’s very similar to KD but she plays defense. She’s going to dominate. This girl is no joke . She’s totally a different style than CC. She can create and pull up on anyone. Trust me . She’s not someone who’s gonna have a hard time transitioning to WNBA. She will dominate and get fouls. She just needs to stay focused . Good defender . She’s taller too.
Am I the only one who thinks that Zhang Ziyu now has very little hype left, outside of China anyhow? She's the elephant in JuJu's room... Yet, back in June, Ziyu was on the global spotlight with 35 PPG and 13 RPG at the international U18 level, and dominated over other WNBA prospects (Shiels, Somfai, and you could make a case for Fengwei and Tanaka), making some people think she's going to be the WNBA's Chamberlain, Ming or Shaq.
What makes CC great is her passing and floor management. People like stats and to compare but you cannot always see the pace of play, floor spread, passing, and how much she elevates her teammates until she sits on the bench. The Fever should get Georgia Amoore to back up CC. If CC gets hurt the fever has nobody that can run that offense. They become mediocre without CC.
Caitlin Clark ran so the upcoming rookies can sprint. CC is the WNBA Messiah. I’m excited for Fulwiley, JuJu, Paige and others to come through and continue to change the game for the better.
If Caitlin and Angel Reese are Magic & Bird (in regards to boosting the popularity of the league to a new level) then Juju could be the Michael Jordan that takes it even higher. I’ve never seen a female player that skilled and singularly dynamic as a freshman.

Nobody in the league liked Clark. She fought for her rookie records all 15 of them . Yes she is the first rookie to record the 25, 5,5. So if she comes into the league take control of a team , and set 15 records we would love to see her
The West Coast teams have an effective advantage over the media than any other players in college; JuJu may be as good as Clark, but having lived all over the country. I've witnessed how players at Stanford, USC and UCLA are in the limelight and that's not counting the minor west coast teams, that's where all the media members went to school.
JuJu will be better. Caitlin Clark is Larry Bird and Magic Johnson rolled into one, but JuJu will be Jordan when she enters the WNBA. Comparing JuJu’s FG% to Caitlin Clark is a bit deceptive. The problem is JuJu had less help from her teammates… and for that reason, opposing teams could often put two and three defenders on her. JuJu literally had to carry that USC team… and it was an unsurmountable task at times. I think that often forced JuJu to force shots because she had to… but I think it’s going to be a different story this year. I think JuJu will be more efficient with better numbers this coming year. That said, I think JuJu was a better freshman than CC or Page. However, it’s tough for many to realize when you see CC and Page on teams that had a better system. That’s why USC lost to UCONN in the tournament last year because their system was simply better… and Page had a better supporting cast… and JuJu was forced to do too much under extreme defensive pressure. Anyway, don’t be fooled. The hype around JuJu is real and justified. There’s a reason you see the narrative around Page being pushed by WNBA affiliates… and the narrative around JuJu being pushed by NBA players. Real recognize real… and these NBA players know and see what’s coming with JuJu… most people on the other side just haven’t realized it yet.
JuJu is very good. But she had several graduate transfers playing with her last season, so her supporting cast was not chopped liver. It should be significantly better this season. It will be up to JuJu and the coach to figure out how to translate that into wins.
@@RichardIILionheart True, but those grad transfers were very inconsistent… and when it mattered the most such as pivotal moments during the NCAA tournament they didn’t show up to ease the load on JuJu.

Wrong colleges - People are still missing the BIGGEST lesson that Clark reminded everyone of: You can't go to the front-runner monoply colleges, or a college that has an apathetic fan-base, and build a legend. For 2 decades just 5 colleges won 70% of the WNCAA championships, and no one cared. Then, these front-runner fans failed to follow their own players (why would they when they can wait for new 5 stars to buzz saw the tourney annually) to the WNBA and to fill those arenas. USC is adjacent to these teams because Los Angeles doesn't care about women's basketball - They can't even sell out USC. They won't be following her, in the 10s of millions, to the WNBA they way Clark's fans have. Biggest mistake that Paige made - not going to Minnesota.
I’m not sure you’ve watched enough JuJu Watkins games. I absolutely can’t wait for her to join the new wave of WNVA talent and put the final nail in the coffin of WNBA oldheads.
There are basketball players with a lot of talent that are not fan magnets. JuJu is very talented, but there is no way to know if she will have a Caitlin Clark like impact. If she does have a monster impact, then it's good for women's basketball.
Short answer, no. Caitlin is an offensive weapon that elevated lower 4 stars and 3 stars to the national championship game. JuJu is on a team loaded with 4 and 5 star talent that is starting to compare to UConn and South Carolina. JuJu also is purely a scorer. She doesn't have the vision.
I met her at the NCAA last year. She is a special woman; polite, educated, intelligent. I dont care much how she compares to CC. Ill just be glad to have another fine woman diluting the toxic wnba culture
Awesome!! Thank you!!! This is exactly how a fan should be talking! ❤
OK, but we’re not gonna pretend like she’s as popular as Clark let’s not be foolish there’s a lot of people that have no idea who juju is and that’s OK but let’s not pretend otherwise just because we feel we have to.
She’s three years away from going to the WNBA. It won’t be a long time by then nobody’s gonna care.
'She declared Reese ROTY. Red flag for making WNBA even more toxic.
CC does not need social media to market herself. She is the market.
That’s how she got famous 🤣

In the game Juju scored 51 points her team scored 66 points. She’ll need to pass the ball more.

Geno arrogantly believes that the torch has been passed to Paige now that Caitlin is not in college.. he wants UConn to win the NCAA Championship. Caitlin's fans came from all over... not just Iowa... anyone that watched her play got hooked on watching her. Caitlin created that feeling in fans herself: Not a UConn loaded team with 5 star athletes being pushed by a coach. A coach trying for 4 years to make people feel like they were idiots to be fans of the girl from Iowa... is not the way to try to get those fans to watch his protégé, Paige Bueckers.

She's still not physically ready for the W but JuJu is. The eye test tells you who's a more complete player and it's not CC. JuJu cooks CC one on one everyday all day
@@TyLeeper-r1e There's a difference between being a better one on one player versus being a better or more impactful overall player. For

Durant for a specific example. KD can cook LeBron one on one, any day of the week. LeBron is also predictable on offense. Yet he's
still a better overall and more impactful player than Durant.
Likewise, Kelsey Mitchell is a better one on one player than Caitlin Clark. So is Arike. But the game is not played solely one on one, now is it?
And those two players I just mentioned, do not hurt the opponents with their passing ability like Caitlin does. I'm not sure how you concluded
that JuJu is a more "complete" player than Caitlin while completely ignoring Caitlin's ability to pass the ball and get her teammates better shots.
That gives Caitlin a wole other dimension to her offensive game that JuJu does not possess. At least not to the same degree.
And finally, if Caitlin is so predictable offensively, how did she become the all time leading scorer in all of college basketball and how did
she break so many rookie scoring records in the WNBA? Maybe her opponents should try to do a more consistent job of stopping her from
scoring, since she is so "predictable".
@@TyLeeper-r1e Didn't Juju lose to UCONN
Man the Disrespect that cc gets is ridiculous!
😂😂😂😂
CC was on the list too, Mick failed to mention that.
If Ju Ju continues to improve the path she's on...omg...she'll be epic
I hope she comes in and does well. However, we don't need these constant comparisons. It is unfair to JuJu.
Dude, what there’s a lot of people that’s never even heard of her and I’m talking about in foreign countries. She’s only popular in the usc part of the world a few tweets don’t make anybody popular I real life , come on bro 🤣
Paige, JuJu and CC are all part of the new generation of womens basketball players. They are more skilled, more dynamic and more athletic. It's great for the womans game overall. Just enjoy it.
Gr8 job bud, keep it up!!!
Are people taking into account Caitlin being face guarded 94 feet, double teamed, blitzed being guarded when she even doesn't have the ball.
The biggest change I am looking forward to in the WNBA is top quality officiating! The entire game accross the board will improve greatly.
CC is the court she is the game 🎯
JuJu is the truth!!
The tooth is out there
These young ladies are going to bring new energy to the league, embrace them and nurture them to help grow the league 😊
Ju ju is a beast she’s not afraid no matter who or how many people are guarding her she will score
To grow the WNBA fanbase, these players need to already have a college fanbase. The B1G is the perfect place for JuJu to do that.
We want Paige and JuJu to be hyped. Great for the WNBA. Juju is 6’ 2” and thick. Give her time. ❤️
Juju will be a monster. Im not sure people realize how good she already is and will be...
Yeah if she plays good at college don’t mean that she will be a monster in Pro. I have seen top picks athletes for pro and they played horrible expect CC.
Lots can happen on 3 years. Look what happened to Paige. Don’t count her wins and records before she even play the games.
JuJu is very good but I have seen a whole lot of players in fifty years that looked great freshman that never accomplished much. We shall see.
Iono how there’s so much hate in the comments section her shot and footwork is elite af forget the hype jus watching for it factor. She got it.
@@imstanley34 it’s not hate. It’s facts. So many people show promise and they peak and never get better or sometimes get worse. Or injuries happen. Hate is what CC got. Proven year in and year out. Broke all kinds of records. And people still hated on her. Nobody crowned her the best as a freshman. Many didn’t even crown her the best as a senior. And now you want to crown her after her freshman year? Get real. Hopefully she is good and helps to improve competition in college and pros. But so much time for her to PROVE it.
No one is more hyped than CC
Juju has an opportunity to develop her skill set.She hopefully will stay in college.
These kids have the issue that the standards are being set by CC as a point guard, what a baller is.
The best part is that she will not have the bs that CC had to deal with. The best part CC let them know that it doesn't matter hs,college, wnba.
Change is here.
Let JuJu be JuJu. Unfair to her to bill her as the next anyone. She's a force all on her own.
I can not wait to watch these 3 go at it in the WNBA for the next 15 or more years!!
LA is a large market, and with her skill set and savvy, she will be a household name as well.
People only talk about juju because her freshman season she had nearly the same amount of points CC averaged from freshman year - junior year but with a lower percentage that’s about all people really remember about her.
Juju will be another Wilson
And a stud but no one is going to be like Clark, Clark is at another level
She elevates anyone she plays with
Nobody in the league liked Clark. She fought for her rookie records all 15 of them . Yes she is the first rookie to record the 25, 5,5. So if she comes into the league take control of a team , and set 15 records we would love to see her
Jordan for basketball or take it Bck to bird/magic and Serena/Venus & Tiger. People don’t understand the meaning of influential
The West Coast teams have an effective advantage over the media than any other players in college; JuJu may be as good as Clark, but having lived all over the country. I've witnessed how players at Stanford, USC and UCLA are in the limelight and that's not counting the minor west coast teams, that's where all the media members went to school.
I like Juju tho. She seems to be very polite , focused and knows what she wants to become. Definitely cheering for her to succeed as well as CC.
JUJU is really good. the word that comes to mind is smooth
@@DamienGWilson
JuJu herself was inconsistent, not surprising especially for a freshman.
Bird and Magic rolled into one? I would take that combination over Jordan any day.
lol stop if anything Caitlin had worse talent then juju and Caitlin had to take a lot of the same shots juju had to because of the lack of skilled teammates she just shit the ball better and your only looking at scoring wich juju wasn’t even better then her at Caitlin clears in playmaking and off ball movement the reason why juju lost is not cause the system it’s cause she couldn’t fit in to the system she’s a shot chucker hopefully she’ll get better but rn that’s what she is. Caitlin never needed a system she’s the system big difference
I love Juju she is graceful and speaks properly to the media too.
They have to somehow put JuJu on the Golden State Valkaries so the franchise to succeed
Clark was hyped by the fans not the media. But all the new fans welcome all the rookies i just hope the veterans in the league do.
Yall in the comments really don’t know basketball. Juju is her and is only going to get better.
I’m not sure you’ve watched enough JuJu Watkins games. I absolutely can’t wait for her to join the new wave of WNVA talent and put the final nail in the coffin of WNBA oldheads.
I am pulling for JuJu and time will tell if her game and popularity will hit Caitlin’s.
There are basketball players with a lot of talent that are not fan magnets. JuJu is very talented, but there is no way to know if she will have a Caitlin Clark like impact. If she does have a monster impact, then it's good for women's basketball.
JuJu legit Carmelo she got footwork and her midrange game is elite!!! CC is the Lebron tho… AR is Ben Wallace
JuJu is the only upcoming player that I think could be in CC's class as a player.
