Leo Wu's got one of the most amazingly expressive faces--he can go from this blank stony stern look to melting like butter and back again in the blink of an eye. The pained expression when the General realized that Shaoshang had watched the execution...he had wanted to protect her from such a grim sight, and especially didn't want her to see him do the job himself, but he underestimates just how strong she is.

This was one of my favorite scenes in this drama. I love how he stares at her while she’s pulling the arrow head out. You can tell he’s already so in love with her (or as much as his super macho general self could love….😂) and that’s why he trusted her so unwaveringly
At last 😅someone who thinks like me 🎉❤. Yes that scene is so intense. He is totally smitten with her, you can tell by the way he "casually" asks her if Shashong string was given to her by her lover, he is practically holding his breath awaiting her response. And he stops breathing when she says "yes" equally causally "it's from somone l like" 😅 and the visible relief when she tells him is Qi 😂😂. Poor guy. He does not stand a chance. He lost himself to her right in the beginning when he admired her for dobbing her uncle and then he says that he fell in love with her when he was able to put a face to the voice at the Lantern festival
The fact that he trusted her wholeheartedly despite only knowing her briefly. Meanwhile, it had to take years for her own mother to have faith in her own daughter.. smh.
I was surprised to learn how young Leo Wu actually is. He plays older characters right along side older performers with dignified success! Well done to him!!!!
he's been in "the business" since he was a toddler doing commercials. his first formal acting debut he was only 8 or 9yrs old.Wu Lei must have gained alot of experience working with the best of the best in the business during his young years.

Easily one of my favorite scenes in the whole series. Just the intimacy and trust that he shows. Ughh it's beautiful. And my girl is so clueless!!
I admit to being late to the party, but I don't think she's *completely* clueless because she's lived long enough to see other men/women flirt, court, get married, etc., but in this moment, her youth, inexperience with flirting, let alone full blown admiration by a man, plus she's focused on helping someone in need so her thoughts are not on him as a man, but him as a person in need, and, she's preoccupied with what just happened in the village and how horribly many innocent people were murdered for greed and power. That she just witnessed the entire village being attacked, not by invaders but by rebels who butchered and violated hard working, kind, thoughtful people just living their lives the best they can. The rebels were their own - those who knew the village and the people in it, and she lost those close to her, her maid included, through brutality and violence. Romance, a handsome, half-naked, high-ranking military general whom everyone believes is invincible and beyond handsome is most likely the furthest thing from her mind - the intimate act of him being half-stripped of clothing, she kneeling directly in front of him, and him knowing it is going to hurt like crazy if she stays that far away from him while pulling the arrow out because she's off balance (we see her adjust her knees, posture and her skirts are tight where she's kneeling on them), so to align her hands with pulling straight out vs. pulling downward as her posture and distance from him will dictate she does and that would cause further internal damage, he pulls her as close to him as he can where their knees have to be touching. That extra closeness also allows her to be more stable kneeling as she can use him/his chest as support for her wrists as she begins to pull on the string. Not to mention she's touching a 'naked' man, with only two other *men* as witnesses, which in itself would be considered scandalous enough to destroy her reputation forever. Her obstinate and rebellious nature serves her well throughout the drama, and while pulling the arrow out, she's already seething with anger and wanting vengeance and retribution for the people butchered in the attack. I doubt she even realizes how close she is to him, she surely doesn't view him as anything more than someone else who needs her help, and as we learn throughout the drama, the girl has skills - she is quick-witted, opinionated, doesn't back down from a fight, plans and executes revenge for slights she's received, is observant, intelligent, crafty, designs and builds stuff that carpenters would build to the frustration of her own mother, so to her, this is just another challenge where her critical thinking skills come in handy. I don't even think she's aware of the vast impropriety of the simple act of kneeling so close to him, nor of him being half naked and her touching him. Culture and protocol back then dictated men and women not even sit together in a carriage (women rode in the carriage, men walked or were on horseback beside the carriage) and she even comments on that to him at some point that she shouldn't be on horseback with him as it is too close together (sorry, can't recall exactly when she does that), but protecting her reputation and innocence is instilled in young ladies from birth. She clearly hasn't even thought of any of that here - all she knows is that no one else can help and her idea might work. In that regard, I agree with you - she's clueless; clueless about how inappropriate she/they are being. Even when she starts inserting the loop into his chest and is inches from his face asking him if it hurts, she's merely helping someone in need: there is not an ounce of romantic emotion connected to her eyes at any time when she looks up from pulling the arrow out and just stares at him - just empathy and concern.

ok, let me say something eve tho this drama is 56 episodes long. I was really happy, and I didn't have to fast forward. every episode was amazing, even in serious situations I laugh his majesty was a clown and the action was epic and don't get me started with the actors chemistry. I gave this one a 10/10. I loved it.

I loved this show and this scene was so amazing but I had to laugh when she asked if he hurt. Dude's got a hole in his chest from an arrow she just pulled out with a zither string, hell yeah that had to hurt.

Looking at the very serious Wu Lei here playing the role of General Ling Buyi, in the drama LOVE LIKE THE GALAXY, It is so in contrast with this naturally playful and smiling young man. But even with his intense look, you have to agree, he is still quite charming and adorable.

This is a very interesting development. Unlike in many other dramas where the supposedly strong female lead runs into the injured and unconscious male lead by accident and then proceeds to save his life, here we see a shameless male lead who strips half-naked and forces an inexperienced girl to treat his near-fatal wound (0:58 - 1:22). She knows that she is neither qualified nor brave enough to handle such a thing but it's his confidence that draws her in to take this chance and prove herself. She still chickens out and is about to call for help because she’s afraid of touching him, but he has the audacity to guide her hand himself (2:51 - 3:18) 😂. They are also in a serious situation, and yet he still has the mind to ask if she has a lover (3:30 - 3:47). What on earth is he thinking? The girl is only recently introduced to high society, how can she already have a lover at only 15 🤦🏻♀️
When the time comes, he reassures her once again (3:52 - 3:55). What's most impressive about him is that he dares to put his life at risk just to test her capability. He’s clearly in more pain but he can still be a gentleman and asks her if her hands are hurt (4:40 - 5:04). What makes him attractive is the fact that he acknowledges her even though she is clearly below his station, he cares more about someone’s competence rather than their social status. He knows from the beginning that this girl is smart despite her young age so he encourages her to be more confident in herself with just two words (in all three times that she feels uncertain). It's his eyes that speak more trust and certainty than any fancy words can possibly be uttered in such a situation. And what's unique about this male lead is that his seduction is not obvious at all, how can he be both serious and indecent at the same time like that 😳? In the guise of treating his wound, he manages to be the first man whose bare skin this girl touched. In the future, he still uses this as an excuse to be involved with her on multiple occasions. She is not just a special strong girl who is tied to the most powerful guy by fate like the typical leads of other dramas, he is the one who chooses to come to her every time, tests her to see if she meets his expectations, and once he knows that she is just as good as he thinks, that's when he's determined that he will have her (5:22 - 5:48).
This crazy and daring male lead is one of the reasons why this drama is phenomenal.

But very perceptive. She knew these rebels were not bandits during her fight against them. Too organized. They came to attack the hunting lodge and kill, not raid for plunder. Her maid/guard was tortured for info before being killed.

The lead actresses mumbling of the lines and fake baby voice was truly annoying in all the scenes in the drama.Wish there was a different actress to play the role.
It's the dubbing of the voice that makes her voice sound like a baby. And here she's playing a character of 15 years old girl and technically that's a baby.
