Yeah 100%. There's no way Giger wouldn't have kept filming until he got it right if that was a mistake. That bonk was absolutely on purpose. Knowing Giger, even if he did actually do it as a mistake on one of his first tries, which is possible, he would have realized he could do it on purpose and that would be the take he put in the video.

One reason he gets hate is for showing the process on some of the tricks where he shows 98 attempts to do a dragon flip to finger flip or something like that. Where a lot of part videos just show 3 to 1 attempts.

Jonny Giger is one of my favorite skaters, y'all need to get him on the show or something. He's such an awesome dude. and yeah about him doing the normal tricks, he's spent literally thousands of hours practicing tricks of Rodney Mullen, and it's mostly on video on his channel. I think a lot of the typical flip tricks are mostly automatic for him simply because he has SO MUCH PRACTICE and is so familiar with how to control his board, and the physics of it all.

I haven't skated since I was 13 when my dad accidentally ran over my skateboard with his car and refused to buy me another, but for some reason Johnny Giger showed up in my TH-cam feed last year and I liked his vibe and his videos of attempting and failing difficult tricks until he nailed them captivated me. Almost makes me want to buy a skateboard and try it again, even though my body would not be very appreciative or cooperative in my 30's. I somehow injured myself while I was sleeping last year, went to sleep fine woke up injured, so I don't think a hard slam would bode well for my ability to go to work and pay my bills.

Just to add some info with regards to sustaining yourself financially: Switzerland is a pretty expensive country to live in. Perhaps a standard income from youtube for a channel of his size is simply not that much for someone living in Switzerland.

That was a perfect bonk(if any) .. that was intentionality superb.. Probably for sure better than I may come close to performing(if any), whereby if I start now there is high probability that I will NOT EVER be able to do that ……. In any case the trick Meets the threshold to exist simultaneously as with Bonk intentionally, Bonk Non Intentionally, No bonk intentionally, and no bonk non-intentionally is a forgone conclusion, nevertheless, better than 80-90-99 percent chance that I will Never ever be as great as Jonny Giger..

Everything he did was intentional. They're dismissing his skill

given the camera is at the perfect height to catch it I'd say it was deliberate but it probably took him many tries. Jonny's great but his strength is determination, which allows him to make parts like these.

Keep in mind YT pays differently depending where you live, and hes in EU where its expensive as shit comparatively. If he took some sponsors he could probably make more and theres other avenues but Patreon allows him to avoid that given the negative effect it can have on your videos, sometimes. I think especially for his kind of video style.

He lives in Switzerland, the costs of living are ridiculously high, so the TH-cam Money doesnt do much, compared to someone living in a cheaper Country.

Johnny did a whole series of videos of him doing Rodney Mullen tricks. The 360 halfcab primo slides one was nuts. Over 13,000... if you wondered how many it takes. There are a few on the way that most people would take, but Johnny is too loving and respectful to the viewers to accept it. He rocks and he doesn't have a shoe sponsor now. With all due love and respect, if i were running Globe I'd have had him a while ago.

He made a video where he threw out the braille shoes. He's cut ties with Revive at this point as far as I'm aware.
