Hey Greg next time you get a big sloppy burger flip it over so the top bun which is thicker is on the bottom because the juices flow to the bottom so if you turn it upside down the juices flow to the thicker bun to absorb the juices

In defence of the burger patty, I used to work in a take away shop and we made our own burger patties. We had a press type gadget that would turn the patties into a uniform shape & size.

Proper burger (esp works) should have a thicker toasted bun to trap the liquids and slightly toasted or fresh top. Most of the time they fall apart is due to oversogginess.
