Eva, it’s so nice to see you happy. Congratulations! As a Mexican woman I advice you to NEVER drive alone after 7 pm that is dark when in highways. Always take “autopistas” where you pay, never federals that are free. If you know people in Mexico and you are driving alone in the highway always share your location or let people know where are you heading to and let them know once you arrived. Always record at least the sound when you have encounters with police. You have foreigner plates and it’s VERY probable you will be stopped by corrupted police. Be very aware of police, they are the worst!!! I have so many feelings, happy for you in one hand because this country is amazing but at the same time worried for your safety. Much love!
@@Hey.bekind777y The autopistas are sometimes patrolled by mobile mechanics to help in case of a breakdown. I think they are partly funded by the tolls. Sometimes the autopistas are not the safe way to go. There is far less traffic on them and with less traffic there are fewer eyes to see banditos.

Welcome to México. Its a pretty safe country. Stick to the toll highways and travel mainly travel in the daytime and you should be just fine. Good luck and have fun on your adventures.
Eva you are living my DREAM. I’m 26 and there is nothing more that I want than to get the hell out of Kansas and travel. The culture here is so uninspiring. I know some day I will achieve it but for now your videos keep me inspired

I’m so excited about the upcoming adventures you will share with us. Mexico is full of beautiful places and people. I’ve traveled to so many countries, and honestly, my #1 spot for the nicest, friendliest, and warmest people that I have ever interacted with during my trips is a tie between Mexicans and Jordanians. ♥️
The best news apart from the bureaucratic paperwork to get Odyssey out of the port, is the battery didn’t get drained during the long sea voyage because as we all know, long term storage is hard on a vehicle! Congratulations and you’re set for adventures around the Americas. To coin a nautical expression, may be the wind be to sail at your back. Best wishes!
Just watched the couple videos in addition to this one about Odyssey's voyage and that is so cool you got it done and nothing was touched. Never occurred to me to "ship my car" somewhere I wanted to drive it...mostly because of the cost/time and stuff, but it's awesome you got it done. A bit new to your channel...so watching videos here and there. I agree with you on your attachment to your car, more so when you live in/out of it. I couldn't/wouldn't do that on either of my rides. Congrats to you and the agent!
Back in 2010 my mate and I drove from Toyko to Lomdon. At the time we had a lot of naysayers and heard some stories about getting cars through customs, especially into Russia from Japan. The key is to engage the right people to help with the process. It cost us about €150 at the time and was done in a few days. But took all the headache out of the process.
I made such a trip with my car from Sweden to Latin America in 2007 and 2012 and recognize how happy and the excitement it was, even today I still have the car, 🥰 good memories

Eva, your story reminded me of all the times I imported and exported cars to Mexico and to the United States of America. As I am a provider of Bilingual Services and Information, I provided chauffeur services to foreigners, to process all the papers, related to import and export. Your story made me feel, once again, the adrenaline rush of doing these procedures at Customs, and reminded me of having had these experiences. Thank you very much, Eva for sharing your story. Everything works, well if it is done correctly and legally!
Eva I have found that a great way to start my day is with one of your videos and my coffee. Your videos are not only informative but also realistic and positive despite any misfortunes you may encounter.
Well done Eva! I once cleared a container in the Caribbean and totally know the rollercoaster of emotions you went through and all the hoops you had to jump through. Enjoy your new adventure kid! ;)
What a pleasure to have met you while utilizing the internet access my neighbor recently gifted me with for a short time. Utterly absorbing to hear and see you.
I can imagine how much of a relief it was to see Odyssey intact and everything in good order. It would have been a big headache if it had major damage or was vandalized in some way. I'm surprised that the cost was only about $3000 USD. I would have guessed it would cost $10,000 - $15,000 USD.
@15:00 " this is what I've been training for all this time. This why I've been doing all the marathons and ultra-marathons . It's this moment . . . " My heart was racing with you watching your vlog. A definite nail biter.
That's amazing girl, so looking forward to your next big adventure. Thanks for sharing, you are an inspiration. ❤️ Safe travels to you lovely being...live on!
I followed your journeys for a while but this smile when you were approaching the last gate beats everything you have ever shown on camera so far. Was really great :) Thanks for sharing, helped me a lot
Hello Eva. Watch out for extremely corrupt local cops (not federals). I hate doing this, I hate scaring people but local police very often stop vehicles with foreign plates and attempt to write bogus fines, make you drive outside of sight. Try to live stream every police interaction if you get stopped.
Eva: That endless wait at customs, had all your fans in suspense, but as you will see, it isn’t so complicated, everything is possible in Mexico, you just have to find the way. We are glad that Odyssey finally is rolling on the roads of Veracruz. And now that you're in Veracruz, enjoy an exquisite fish fillet steak or the shellfish of your choice, At Mandinga Lagoon, a night walk along the pier and the obligatory coffee at Andrade in front of the aquarium or in the emblematic Café de la Parroquia. Do you have half a day?, escape to the nearby town of Antigua, to the north of Veracruz, take a boat with the locals on the mighty, but peaceful river of La Antigua and land at one of the restaurants on the riverbank. Exquisite gastronomy and very good atmosphere. I was in Mexico last year for 4 months , you'll enjoy your trip, drive safe, roads are very narrow and full of pot holes and speed bumps. It seems like the shipping cost was more than your vehicle cost 😉 Cheers 🍺
Mmm...that trip sounds like drive every place since Michigan to New Jersey, but with the diference are cold and Urban áreas...not isolated rural locations LOL.
@@agguerra9106 I traveled through 12 states, and yes I know road in Michigan is bad , because it's a bankrupt state, just like California. I lived in United States since 1997, drove through most of the country 3 times. In Mexico even in Baja California where roads are better, it's too narrow, patchy and pot holes every where, speed bumps without any markings on it. It's dangerous to drive there, bigger trucks coming from other direction almost comes in your lane. Mexico has build some new toll highways but that's more common in Northern Mexico close to US, but when driving through Oaxaca, Chiapas and many southern states roads are terrible. And no need to get defensive, just accept the fact, I do like Mexico, and had a good time, Mexican people are friendly and hard working, and I respect them.
Your pure joy and relief at the end of the video made me cry and gave me goosebumps as i know exactly what it feels like to habe such a pressure released for your freedom!!! Pure humanity!!!!

I have been watching your videos for years and I have never seen you that happy! I teared up at the end. I have the emotional attachment to my jeep and adventure. hit the road! stay safe ❤️
Hi Eva I generally don't do this but seeing the excitement and the happiness in your face I had to congratulate you for achieving your issues and it's nice to see that you are in the United States I have a great day and take care of yourself
Congratulations Eva. Or as they say here in Georgia, გილოცავ ევა! I've got 6000 kilos of library I have to ship from Alaska to Tbilisi Georgia. I'm already feeling your situation from several months, or years away. (They want an itemized list of maybe 20,000 items.) Vaya con Dios.
Congrats on getting your home back. Good luck on your journeys in the Americas. I'm betting you will wish you had air conditioning by the time you get done.
Niña, believe me when I say that we cannot drive something like a Defender here in Mexico without somebody every few miles willing to snuff us out to take it. Please make it out of Mexico ASAP. It is a great country to tour, but not with something like a Defender. I would recommend keeping it in storage and then touring the mass known as USA and Canada with it.
@@nysoleil I am more concerned for her. My country is a Narco state and runs on Conan the Barbarian rules. There will be no one looking for her or they disappear as well. You folks call this being a gray man, but that is what you have to be while in Mexico. Rule#1 DONT STAND OUT.
Would it have been easier to ship Odyssey to Galveston, TX and then if you wanted to spend time in Mexico just cross the border? You would have been able to retrieve Odyssey one stop earlier on the ships voyage and there may have been fewer hassles getting you vehicle out of the port.
Such joy! Congrats on your next step to the journey! Have been watching for last two weeks to catch up to Mexico! You only had one clip about Texas while you were in Austin…since I live two hours away from Austin I hope you spent more time in the future here in Texas!
Just to let you know, from the center to the southern part of México is green, whole of green forest hig Mountains & jungles. (Weather mild to hot near the coast) And from the center to north are not as greens,, deserts, so many climate lines & landscapes. Enjoy it.
More risks in the 🇺🇸 as there’s a lot of road rage & misogyny directed at solo female drivers there; definitely greater chance of negative experiences than in Mexico or Latin America.
Its amazing it started after 2 months of sitting, a cars battery slowly loses charge and the gas can get alittle stale resulting in a rough idle/lack of power. I had trouble starting my Toyota Corrola after a 2 week trip. I had to floor the gas pedal and crank it a few times. My friend was nearby with jumper cables just in case. I'm amazed at her ability to stay positive in a tense situation.
The first port stop in South Carolina? You could have driven across US, into Canada and Alaska. I think driving your Defender into Mexico is like flashing a diamond ring in a dark alley. I hope you were joking when you said you didn't pray.
I shared your joy in the reunion with Oddessy...... Congratulations! I also live by the motto of " Plan for the worst and hope for the best ". Happy travels Eva!
You really need to be careful driving alone through Mexico @Eva Zubeck I live in Mexico and would NOT drive through out the country without a local and even then I would have reservations. I think you might be setting yourself up for disaster 🙏🙏🙏
Thrilled nothing got stolen getting to Mexico. That was about the safest part of this trucks journey. That truck will be stripped if left on the street by morning.
Mexico is a beautiful country. But, like everywhere in the world, please do your homework, and avoid the bad neighborhoods. For example in Mexico City: Polanco! YES! Tepito! NOOO00000oooo! 🇲🇽
If she wanted to go to Mexico from the USA, Eva would have had to still arrange for an import permit and Mexican insurance. That would have to be done anyway.
@@magranamx That was true last year when I visited in January, but Mexico is catching up with the new world order , and the rents has gone up so much because millions of Americans are trying to escape to Mexico.

Me too 🎉
@15:00 " this is what I've been training for all this time. This why I've been doing all the marathons and ultra-marathons . It's this moment . . . "
My heart was racing with you watching your vlog.
So nice to see your happiness when reunited with Odyssey Eva! Odyssey is not just a car, she is a LandRover Defender and has a soul!
Eva:
That endless wait at customs, had all your fans in suspense, but as you will see, it isn’t so complicated, everything is possible in Mexico, you just have to find the way.
Recommended: Las Delicias Marinas

Are you a watch birder? the aviary expedition At the bar of La Mancha lagoon, very early or at sunset, quite an experience.

And if you are interested into Archaeology, nearby you will find the Totonac ruins on the cliff of Quiahuiztlán, in front of Villa Rica, where Hernán Cortes landed and began his adventure of conquest.

There are basic trailer parks at la Mancha. I would recommend Camp La Mancha on the move (Campamento La Mancha en Movimiento), staffed by locals

Welcome and you will see that the jarochos will serve you well.
Hey: in urban areas don't leave Odyssey alone parked on the street, always a parking lot or a trailer park. Just in case.
Héctor
Great advice. All of it!
😂😂😂 Ewa, ja dokładnie tak samo jak Ty na końcu filmu, wrzeszczalam z radości, jak urodziłam dziecko 😂 pięknie się cieszysz życiem ❤️ powodzenia z przygodami
The sound of Odyssey’s engine when you first cranked it was an eargasm. Enjoy the adventure of a lifetime. 🤙🏾
You probably drove on those LIBRE roads, I would much rather pay the toll and drive on a nice modern freeway! DON'T BE A CHEAPSKATE!
Where in Mexico did you go to??? Narrow and full of pot holes sounds you were in Baltimore or Detroit!
@@MsJanetWood I drove through half of the country, I was there for 4 months, and I'm not cheap, talk about your self
Eva is so brave as always Take care🙏🙌🏽✨💓 I can’t wait to see her upcoming adventures 💓 I think that every country can be challenging let’s live one day at a time. Who is excited?!🙋🏽♀️ I am 🙌🏽✨🤩
Does Eva have a toilet in her Car? Wonder where she pees when in Nature? because as a Lady finding a hiding place ?
@@silaslutjohann1530 I guess she was talking a little bit about it in a video last year…she showed some toilet supplies she got, but when you’re on the road well you will do your things where you can 😅
Yeah...sure...why not? Yeah!
@@kflecha1 Meaning pee in Nature? Well Wonder what Criterias she Looks for when going in Nature besause as a Lady you Need a little Bit more privacy.
@@dialogarconlahistoria8229 What do you mean with yeah Sure why Not?
Run to Odyssey!!! its ready for youuuu woohoooo 🙌 were so happy for you! enjoy Mexicooooo and see you soon hopefully on the road!
Sometimes customs agents check things because they’re curious about something cool like overland stuff not curious about illegal stuff. 😁🇨🇦
I am totally happy for you......I don't think in all my travels I have ever seen anyone so happy !!!! you are glowing happy !!!
I'm very happy for you that you have Odyssey back, but I do have 1 question....you had to sign Odyssey over to someone because of the custom stuff, did you get Odyssey back on your name? You never mentioned it in the video (that I can remember)
She's in Mexico!
So excited for your journey Eva , may it be safe, happy and full of amazing experiences!!
Happiness! Wszystko nabierze nowego rozpędu teraz kiedy Odyssey jest w końcu z Tobą! Enjoy the cruising! Muah!
Congrats on getting your home back. Good luck on your journeys in the Americas. I'm betting you will wish you had air conditioning by the time you get done.
I love the way you express your freedom. I wish you safe travels and good luck wherever you go.
Which 4 wheel drive vehicles are common in Mexico?
Somebody from work told me the same thing about his truck. They'll just take it.
Yeah, I am concerned for her and Odyssey safety! Hate for her to lose Odyssey after all that time & effort. Buena suerte Eva!🍀
@@nysoleil I am more concerned for her. My country is a Narco state and runs on Conan the Barbarian rules. There will be no one looking for her or they disappear as well. You folks call this being a gray man, but that is what you have to be while in Mexico. Rule#1 DONT STAND OUT.
When you traveled to the US, I thought you would live in car around the US. You are so brave when you live in car in Mexico. I pray for your safety.
Would it have been easier to ship Odyssey to Galveston, TX and then if you wanted to spend time in Mexico just cross the border? You would have been able to retrieve Odyssey one stop earlier on the ships voyage and there may have been fewer hassles getting you vehicle out of the port.
What is the cost to ship an RV camper to another country?
Such joy! Congrats on your next step to the journey! Have been watching for last two weeks to catch up to Mexico! You only had one clip about Texas while you were in Austin…since I live two hours away from Austin I hope you spent more time in the future here in Texas!
Oh my god
congratulations for being able to stretch a story to its limits!
This was 5 minutes of footage at best!
What a nerve-wracking experience! I was nervous for you, lol. So glad it worked out so well though--enjoy Mexico!
Gratulacje! Życzę pięknego wyjazdu! 😁
Just to let you know, from the center to the southern part of México is green, whole of green forest hig Mountains & jungles. (Weather mild to hot near the coast)
And from the center to north are not as greens,, deserts, so many climate lines & landscapes. Enjoy it.
Be careful in Mex. It is not like everywhere else. Most of the people are good but............
More risks in the 🇺🇸 as there’s a lot of road rage & misogyny directed at solo female drivers there; definitely greater chance of negative experiences than in Mexico or Latin America.
Fake
@@jt8142 That is BS.
Why?
SUV defender...🥱
Here's to a new chapter for Eva & Odyssey. Can't wait for the upcoming post. Take care!
Hi, I'm from Queretaro-Mexico, if you come to Queretaro I Would love to show you the City. Greetings
Hope you not getting right🙏🏻
🤥
Good Luck on getting your baby back Odyssey. I hope they took care of her🌹😇. Pamela
Thrilled nothing got stolen getting to Mexico. That was about the safest part of this trucks journey. That truck will be stripped if left on the street by morning.
I just cry to the end 🥲, sorry that you have to got to all this. Eva and odyssey bienvenidos a México
Mexico is a beautiful country. But, like everywhere in the world, please do your homework, and avoid the bad neighborhoods. For example in Mexico City: Polanco! YES! Tepito! NOOO00000oooo! 🇲🇽
Roma? NO! COYOACÁN YES!
So happy for you, your joy is contagious! And so begins a new adventure. Wishing you all the best, stay safe and have fun!
One question. Why you didnt ship it to USA and then drive to Mexico? Is not cheaper? And less burocratic?
If she wanted to go to Mexico from the USA, Eva would have had to still arrange for an import permit and Mexican insurance. That would have to be done anyway.
Mexico has less covid restrictions than any other country, so even if imports are arcane, this is a great time to visit Mexico
@@magranamx That was true last year when I visited in January, but Mexico is catching up with the new world order , and the rents has gone up so much because millions of Americans are trying to escape to Mexico.
The look on your face when Odyssey started " priceless" ! Happy for you.
