I completely agree with you: Artificial flavors completely destroy the essence of a spirit. It would be like putting ketchup on a perfectly grilled prime ribeye steak. Great presentation.
Just finished my 2nd bottle of Teremana Repo (2nd was a gift). I found quite a bit of variation between the two lots. The second bottle was far better, less boozing and tannic. Overall, not a bad pick up that price point, although I find Olmeca Altos is a touch better for less money. I'll give the ROCK credit, he hasn't tried to overly milk the public like with a highly inflated 'celebrity' brand of bad tequila.
This tequila hasn't been getting good reviews. I've thought about trying it anyway, since I'm always looking for more reasonably-priced tequila. I'll definitely pick up a small sample now that you've reviewed it. Your tequila recommendations haven't steered me wrong yet!
Nice review as usual. I know some have issues with this Tequila but the Reposado is my go to for a nice margarita. I may try the Anejo as a possible sipper just for fun. I've made quite a few spirit purchases based on your reviews (as well as others) and have been quite pleased. They include G4, Fortaleza, Pasote and Siete Leguas. Thanks for helping me build my spirit collection. Cheers!
I am not a tequila drinker but my wife makes margaritas and likes to try different tequila. I liked the Teremana neat because I will try a small bit here and there. Her friend brought Clase Azul Reposado once and that was my favorite so far, reminded me of a clove cigarette on the nose.
For the price point there's other old school tequilas I'd buy around $30, didn't care for the repo of this, pretty harsh to me. Your collection is legendary by the way behind you.
I’m a big spirits guy but relatively new to tequila. So far from what I’ve tried I really like Casamigos Reposado but I’m not a fan of the price. What’s the best budget reposado in your opinion. I prefer sweeter vanilla and caramel flavors
If you prefer sweeter vanilla and caramel flavors, maybe try El Padrino from Total Wine. Just know that they do add some agave nectar - so think of it as a dessert style tequila. If you want pure unadulterated tequila, maybe try the Suerte Tequila line. Cheers!
My fiancé and I found this distellery about a year ago and have found it to be a very approachable tequila for sipping, shooting and mixing. For the price point, we think it punches up several classes above for the taste. We’ve had both of the older bottles and actually don’t mind the entry offering and can’t wait to try the new one. Thank you for your take and love your content!
I agree with your assessment. I found the Anejo quite good for a sub $40 bottle. I wasn't aware it was a celeb bottle prior to purchase. Doesn't change my opinion.
Hound, may I ask how you handled your move of this collection. Did you use a company or did you do it yourself? Any tips? I’m planning a move and I’m stressing as I have a small fortune tied up in my collection.
I don’t disagree at all, and personally also prefer unadulterated tahona crushed tequilas. That said, I do acknowledge that some tequilas add the agave nectar to create “dessert style” tequilas - and that market continues to grow. They know most people have a sweet tooth and aren’t necessarily interested in the complexity and purity that traditional/additive-free tequilas offer. All that said, stay tuned, as I do have a big additive-free lineup to review very soon. Thank you for the comment and cheers! 🥃
One of my besties was looking forward to this coming to our market so bad, pretty expensive in Canada and I think it's safe to say he's pretty disappointed with the product. Too bad the Rock's wholesome angle on the marketing here (seemed nice and genuine) fell pretty flat in the final product.
It’s starting to sound like it’s been a “batchy” product (some good ones and some not so good). That’s a problem when you’re launching a new brand. Hopefully they’ll get a handle on that soon. Cheers!
I drink a lot and im currently drinking teramana for first time today but what the hell is he talking about these smells. 😂 its not wine. I drink straight only tequila and rum and vodka but never have i gotten any senses you claim in your review. Right now watching smell and sipping trying to get even 1 thing you said but 0 luck. Creamy??? 😂 how can tequila be creamy? Good video man for sure its entertaining that you sense all these tastes and smells. To me it taste almost identical to casadores or the george clooney. Its not really that different. My go to is centenario or Hacienda Vieja Tequila Reposado Those are way better in flavour for me
From the batches I’ve tasted, it’s a good tequila (not great, but good). From a few comments on here, there were some rough batches along the way. I’ve run into this myself with other big brands in other spirit categories. I hope they’re getting a handle on their quality control, since “batchy” spirits never do well with consumer confidence. But you never have to worry about my reviews. I buy my own bottles, so they’re always unbiased and honest. Cheers!
Let's be real. You don't actually taste all those different notes in a liquor, cigar, etc..it's just all for the sake of presenting a good review in the eyes of the viewers. Not just you but anyone who does reviews.
I know it sounds like BS but it’s legit. I’ve been wine and whiskey tasting for years and just got back from Puerto Vallarta yesterday. Did some tequila tasting. You don’t need lime and salt when tasting good tequila. These connoisseurs had years to develop their palates.
Are you serious? Those are some of the worst made at one of the worst distilleries, that make a ton of shitty contract brands! Diffuser cooked, acid hydrolysis process, meaning cooked in acid using inferior immature agaves, then later additives are added to make it drinkable. Total garbage! For the newbie inexperienced clueless consumer who dont know any better. Artificial AF! WTF!
Well, I haven’t been there myself, so I can only go by what I’ve seen and read online, but from what I can tell, the main plant does have a diffuser, but the smaller sub-plants (with their own NOMs) have their own separate roller mills, ovens, fermentation tanks, and copper pot stills - and don’t use the big diffuser for those brands/lines. So until I can have confirmation otherwise, I won’t spread unproven information. Do I know what diffuser made tequilas taste like compared to tahona crushed? Of course I do. Do I enjoy tahona (or even roller mill) made tequilas over cheap diffuser tequilas? Yes I do. But know that I always try to judge every bottle by itself, and leave preconceived notions aside. I simply go by taste, give the most accurate unbiased tasting notes I can, and let the viewers decide if it sounds like something they’d want to spend their money on. I self purchase 99.9% of the bottles I own/review off store shelves, so I never feel like I owe anyone anything and eliminate the possibility for “hand selected” (better) bottles being sent to me by manufacturers. As for these Teremana Tequilas, the batches I had at our friends home (the first time I tried them) and my own bottles were both good for the money and didn’t have any horrible flaws. There was a slight batch variance as the first lot had more tropical notes than mine (and I’ve heard that other lots have just not been good). To me that doesn’t sound like a diffuser made problem (as they’re consistent at doing what they do). It sounds like a small producer problem where cook/fermentation times and blending skills aren’t perfected yet. I hope this helps explain my position, and I thank you for your comment and being here. Take care and cheers!
Ok I call bs. I'm literally sitting here sniffing the hell out of my glass and all I smell is alcohol. No apples. No cherries. No lime. No caramel. Just alchohil
Are you using a Glencarin glass? If so, it could just be one of the bad batches (a couple of people in the comments mentioned getting some not so good ones). Cheers!
We’re the 3 bottles all of one type Blanco, Reposado or Anejo) or 1 of each? I’m just trying to see if it could have been a bad batch, or maybe it just didn’t fit your palate. Either way, I know that’s rough and I’ve had that experience a few times myself. Cheers!
"they're not using the diffuser, they're not using the autoclave" Come on bro. Put on the critical thinking cap. Think of how many cases brands that use traditional methods put out vs the insane production Teremana puts out.
Well they’re using roller mills and multiple copper pot stills, so a good amount of tequila can be made (just ask Patron). Now I agree, it won’t be at the quality of those that use full traditional methods, but unless I have some actual production numbers, I’m not going to create or spread bad information. What I will do, is give the most accurate tasting notes I can, and let the viewers decide if that’s something they’re interested in (which has always been my goal). Cheers!
I completely agree with you: Artificial flavors completely destroy the essence of a spirit. It would be like putting ketchup on a perfectly grilled prime ribeye steak.
Great presentation.
I actually do put ketchup on my steaks…
Great review. It’s nice to have a reviewer who is like myself; very sensitive to artificial tastes and smells.
Thank you for being here and cheers!
Bought a bottle of the Blanco tonight and I don't think it's bad at all. It's enjoyable and not super expensive.
Thank you for your input and cheers!
I personally love the Reposado, I haven't had the Anejo yet though. Not a big Blanco tequilla fan in general but it serves its purpose

awesome review, i've been thinking about picking up this line lately, might go for it soon
Hope they keep the quality up on all versions. Thanks for your review.

much appreciated for making this video
Nice review as always. I was wondering, out of all the celebrity spirits, what is your favourite?
I appreciate you smelled what the Rock has been distilling. Repo will be added to the bar
Nice review as usual. I know some have issues with this Tequila but the Reposado is my go to for a nice margarita. I may try the Anejo as a possible sipper just for fun. I don't think they sell the G4 & the other brands you mentioned in my area. I really want to try G4
very well said! thank you!
Thank you for the honest review. Now I’m going to try it. I was a bit hesitant. Like you, I’m not a fan of artificial flavors in spirits.
Happy I could help! Thanks for the comment and cheers!

This tequila is about DRIVE, it’s about POWER.
Not very good flavor descriptors …

got a bottle excellent
Are you working on the year review?
I’ve been a busy bee, but I’m going to try and get that done. Cheers!
Great review and research too. 👌
We dont have it yet Ky. The Anejo.
A lot of ppl say celebrities who make tequila be 🤢🤮... Ijs🤷🏾♀️
What batch did you get? The blanco is downright awful especially in cocktails.
My Blanco is Lote 22AB060H21. Cheers!
It’s a wonderful world 🌍 alcohol flavor. This category of flavor is so unique. So many palate distinctions unmatched from any other drink.
Which one is sweeter? We are beginners with this tequila stuff 😬
The Anejo was the sweetest, followed by the Reposado and then the Blanco. Cheers!
@@LiquorHound thanks I bought the blanco today haha I’ll have to try the reposado.
Just another additive filled celebrity tequila
2nd to like, 1st to comment. love ya stuff
👍🏻
Hound, may I ask how you handled your move of this collection. Did you use a company or did you do it yourself? Any tips? I’m planning a move and I’m stressing as I have a small fortune tied up in my collection.
I moved them all myself. It was a lot of work, but better safe than sorry. Cheers!
@@LiquorHound As they say…if you want something done right do it yourself. Thank you ….and wish me luck.
How does it compare to lobos
Does Teremana being gluten free play THAT big of a part in flavor?
Probably not, but it’s good for people who have issues with gluten to know they can enjoy some without the discomfort. Cheers!
I assumed this was just another gimmicky celebrity brand. Might have to check it out.
Just tried the reposado alongside some scotch. Bad idea don’t do it lol
In summary, a good tequila needs no additives. They’re not adding it for no reason.
I don’t disagree at all, and personally also prefer unadulterated tahona crushed tequilas. got any vodka videos planned?
I do and it should be coming this coming month. Cheers!

my friend 20minutes? :D come on man.. its 2 tequilas..
Lol, it’s 3 tequilas and since I never script, it takes what it takes. ;-D But seriously, thanks for being here and cheers!
Love your reviews but this is not one of my favorite tequilas. At the price point you can buy better tequila such as Suerte or El Tesoro.
Sure can, but it’s always good to see what the new brands are like. Cheers!
Teremana looks like a quality coper pot stilled tequila for a great price. I'm glad they went for flavor over candy sweet =) Great video!
