Great job! Can you please tell me what view mode you are using? I can't seem to find an outside view that doesn't have the plane showing. Or a cockpit view where I can hide the instruments. Thanks.

    • @AceSimulations
      @AceSimulations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Sorry for the late response. I am using the cockpit view with the camera moved all the way forward and up to hide the instruments and still display the cowling. Sometimes an invisible barrier prevents the camera from moving all the way. I don't remember how I got around it, but once you do just save the view and it will be easy to get back to.

I will include a short explanation in my next video, but in short, I just use the arrow keys to move the view all the way forward. Sometimes if camera collisions are on it will prevent this, but there is a fix for this if you google "disable fs2020 camera collision". By moving the camera forward you will only see the prop and a small amount of the glare shield. I hope this helps!

What zoom level do you have it set at?
Just a quark but if you raised left monitor the horizon would be at you eye o gel while sitting as the front TV is.
    Last tid bit.
Since you are using 2 different sizes tvs don't you need to zoom in the one on the left?
Objects appear much smaller than on main screen.
Gives feeling that you are farther away than a tally are.

    • @AceSimulations

I don't remember the zoom level but I do know the different resolutions caused the side view to look smaller. Unfortunately that is a limitation of msfs. I have the placement of the window done based on a real cessna. To have it work out my seat should actually be lower.

It's pretty awesome how each year technology in hardware & software improve.
Lately we have 5 flight sim camps.
      1- one large monitor/TV
2- using a single TV plus one side tv
3- some use two projectors to create large curved screen.
4- others started Triple screens equal size.
Have you been in or tried any of these sims & if so, if money was no object would you go with 2 projectors or triple screen wrapped around views close to a true 180 degree field of view or triple screen wrapped around?
      Yes, another is VR headsets.
That offers Depth to the simulated world that flat 2d screens haven't done.
Thanks, good luck in your build.

I Like the work you are doing, this is my first video to see of your channel and it's nice, but, I think MSFS is too Memory and power Hungry. I've been using X-Plane 11 for years, and it's lovely, and then one day I tried to use X-Plane 12, and It keeps crashing. I hate it now. So I went back to X-Plane 11, cause I can do 6 or less Ai planes and still keep going. I also have an RTX 2070 Super! 16 GB ram, and an i5 processor, and it's still going good for an outdated computer. I couldn't help noticing that your instruments are not lined up to the holes. but it was still nice. Also I notice your MSFS Ai was Acting Crazy, Cars and trucks popping in and out of existence! Yikes! I recommend trying out X-Plane 11 first before you come to the final decision to sell the system. So us at home won't be disappointed with the wrong simulator. I wanted MSFS, but my computer is old, and most of us can't afford to upgrade. I saw your web site, and it's nice. but your instruments need to be snug on the holes, before we can consider. Nice though. Terry

@@wicomms Yes initially that is what I did. I use a 65in TV in the front. In the future I will use the same size TVs. I just used what I had for this sim though.

For instrument… single screen is good enough.
    For VFR, you need VR

@@AceSimulations it really is worth it. I only got VR for flight sims, but there is much more to do with it.
Get good controllers, put them where you would normally reach for them, and VFR is wildly real.
I got mine on interchangeable stands so I can swap out various civil planes, military fighters, and helicopters.
I use the same seat, just swap out controllers.
You actually feel like you are sitting in the plane, so much, that some people get reverse vertigo… where your eyes are telling your body you should feel movement.
For IFR, it is more about programming the GPS or Nav systems and navigating. It can be done in VR, but you really need to see the charts and approach plates to really practice IFR flying. And when IFR flying, you really aren’t looking outside until you are landing… and hopefully, if all was done correctly, the runway should be on the screen in front of you. So, no need for multiple screens.

@@thatguy7085 This is very interesting. If I decide to do a VR setup I will most definitely compare it to the sim for both VFR and IFR, it could be an interesting comparison.

As great as this may seem a $500 VR headset is still far superior. The pancake view doesnt give the 3d immersion reality offers. VR does. TH-cam makes this seem better of a simulator than it actually is.

@Despiser25 I have tried vr before and for external views it is better but it doesn't come close to physically being in the cockpit. This just fit my purposes better. Maybe in the future I will try vr again.
