    You have to imagine as well that Bill Belivhick is also negotiating with the league about whether or not they can guarantee to script him another Superbowl victory and which potential team he could join has the most powerful and compelling storyline for the league to want to make that happen.
    My guess is that Belivhick to the Jets is the best possible storyline with Rogers coming back from injury, Belichick returning to the Jets, playing the Patriots twice a year, matching Bradys post Patriots title, passing Don Shula all time wins and bringing the Jets their first title since 68.
    I mean that's a slam dunk.

      As long as your mind is still sharp and you are happy with your job, you can work as long as you like. Charlie Munger worked until he died and he was like 98 years old. Warren Buffett is still going strong at 96. Munger's mind was still sharper than most men in their thirties when he died.
      I just don't think BB is a good coach. His records without Brady speak for itself. And he has 4 years to rebuild and it is getting worst each year. So how many more yours do his apologists want him to have? Whether BB stays with the Pats or go to the Chargers, I will still prove my point that he is an average coach at best. After Brady was forced out, I debated with BB's proponents and Brady's haters that I am willing to give BB as many years as he wants and he would never sniff the Superbowl again. So I hope that he can coach for many many more years so I can watch and listen to his fans squirming trying to come up with excuses for him.

    It would be nice if we could draft skill players more consistently lol. But a new lead culture in general would help.

      Douglas is a sure fire hit at this point so I think people need to temper the complaints. They also found Stevenson and he is building a solid foundation with the young interior OL despite complaints he hasn't found a tackle.

  • @garygarofalo
    @garygarofalo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    They are in incredibly good position for next year. The return the entire defense (minus Dugger) and still have 90M in cap space. 4 out of their 5 OL will be back and are above average to plus starters. Stevenson and Douglas can make plays, and Parker is a fine third option.
    With 90M in cap space and a top 5 pick, this is a SHOCKINGLY small amount of holes. Whether they draft MHJ or a QB, they will basically have 30-40M to spend on a QB1 or a WR1.
    They are in great shape, will have a top 3 defense, and should have an above average offseason courtesy of the spending spree.
    You give this team a decent QB and it's a playoff team. A good QB and it will make a lot of noise.

    I think Bill is still a great coach, he’s just missed on so many offensive players. If he had just a top 20 QB and 1 or 2 above average receivers I think they’d be a playoff team this year. Let him stay as coach but bring on a GM, he just needs help finding talent on offense.

    • @williamli6200
      @williamli6200 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Belichick never had IT to be a great coach.
      What Belichick needed was *high QUALITY plays from his QB with a CHEAP squad.*
      If Belichick the id10t had THE Brady of early 2000s in last 3 seasons, he would still look like a genius, and his brainwashed fans would still talk about how great he was.
      Without Brady, the Pats in early 2000s would be like the Pats in last 3 seasons, and Belichick would look like an id10t like he is now.
      What makes Belichick a dumbfook is that he still doesn't realize that his defense can't even make team a serious playoff contender and he needs so much from offense.

    • @donywahlberg
      @donywahlberg 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He did a decent job the last couple years either way. It is funny seeing our fans talk about how bad he is at drafting but in the next breath say that he ruined a 'sure pick' in Mac Jones.
      Ok so did he fail to coach Mac and develop him or did he fail at drafting as a GM? He's got effective young OL who have only suffered from inexperience. Mafi and Strange and Sow have been starting or rotating all year for experience. He found Demario Douglas in the 6th round, he found Stevenson a couple seasons ago...
      I think even the offensive drafting issues are overblown, it's literally all the QB. They got way more production out of the guys they have once Mac was benched.

      Bill believes the system makes the player vs. getting talent and building around them. That affects how he drafts, unfortunately. Especially on offense. If we can get a GM that he vibes with that could work. But he also has to change some of his mentality as well. We can't draft a star WR and bench him because he fumbles once like we did with Pop Douglas.

      I agree with the first part but not the Fields part, I think it would be better if they went and picked up Kirk in FA and Harrison Jr in the draft. Everyone thinks it's a must to pick a QB in the top 5 but NO #2-5 pick has won a SB in the 2000's and only 2 #1 picks won a SB for the team that drafted them, both were named Manning and only one other #1 has won a SB since 2000 and that was Stafford. Even if you look at the best QBs in the league most are not Top 5.
      The team in actuality is not that bad, there is an easy argument to be made that we could easily be 10-6 right now instead of 4-12 if we had better QB play. The last game we easily could have won, we held 3 teams straight to 10 points or less, we should definitely have won those, We should have beaten the Redskins, that is 5 games we should have won and that doesn't include the Philly game or the Miami games that we were well in range to win until Mac decided he was playing for the other team. So even if you say 1 of those 3 games that would put us at 10-6 right now, which all means nothing in the end but it does show the team is not nearly as bad as it's record would indicate. It's kind of like the reverse image of Philly where their record makes them look better than they really are. LOL
