bach, no es para todos los interpretes, y la vision de Maxim, es la vision de Maxim, pero bach precisa de mas tiempo, entendimiento y fundamentalmente, una idea fuera del contexto tecnico resolutivo, y eso, Maxim, con toda su capacidad tecnica talvez, no nos convence mucho, pero sin dudas, es una excelente version de este excelente instrumentista..

The chaconne he played sounds like a performance by at least two violins, it really does. It’s kinda insane to me that he could play the chaconne like an orchestra with only a violin 🥹

As much as I respect and enjoy Maxim as the best violinist of his generation ( humble opinion) Hilary hanh transmits something different, I feel she understands Bach in a level others do not. Only Pau Casals gives me that impression when playing Bach, even though his style is not for every taste, but he has that something too.
Hillary’s Bach records are amazing and special. It’s a heavenly match. But the phrases, drama and passion that Maxim put in his music is unmatched. I guess each has their own appeal
