The whiplash in this episode is amazing. One second you're laughing til your ribs hurt, next you're terrified of what might happen next.

It really is great! I feel like the whole show feels like that to be honest, it's just so damn good.

i love the background gags in this ep. "you have to many dogs" is one of my favourite lines of the show

"can you say it again?" is also such a good line...

This is one of the few shows i've watched where I haven't had very many people to root for(apart from possibly Hank). Usually if I don't have someone to root for I struggle to watch it but Barry is just too good.

I think I definitely flip flop between the characters on who I'm rooting for, they all tend to do some crazy things ha. It really is so good!

    "She probably deserved it."
That's a great example of what happens when you lose yourself in your feelings for a character (people just often watch shows like this as though Sally is their co-worker). You stop paying attention to what the show is actually trying to do, and just go 'well I don't like Sally, and something bad is happening to her, so ... who cares that abuse is happening right in front of me.' Sally is far from a 'good' person ... but if you lose yourself in hating her (or anyone else in a morally gray show) you've basically stopped watching the show and are just looking at the tv with a "Reality Show Filter" over your eyes.

I totally understand what you're saying, for out initial reaction I think we were as in shock as Sally was to be honest.
We talk more about the Sally scene in more detail in the next video as after recording and rewatching on the edit I feel we definitely didn't sympathise with her enough..but I totally do feel sympathy for her in that situation. Hopefully we do justice to what I was actually feeling about it but yea I get for our first reaction we brushed over it a bit much.

@unportanter - i don’t think i’ve ever seen a single person say those words in reaction to this scene, it blew me away😭

It is sad to see Sally fall back into a submissive role again, but after seeing the emotional abuse she put Barry through as well as treating him more as an accessory than a person, it was cathartic to see him blow up at her
At this point, it might've been more merciful to let Fuches kill Gene.

never seen someone so deep in the sally hate to go "yeah, good on barry for screaming at her!"
she went out of her way to help Gene, and her casting department said he wasn't good for it. remember Gene's self-earned reputation, where he was bringing loaded guns to auditions, and generally being awful to work with to the point where everyone hates him. it was going out of her way to even consider him. then barry screams at her and gets all up in her face, very threatening, literal verbal/emotional abuse, when he knows what she went through with sam...
sally has clear personal problems. so does every character on the show. real people are often full of themselves, especially if they are running their own tv show. i don't think that excuses barry's actions at all

glad to see you guys talk more about it after the ep. I think the focus on the fact he didn't hit her was less about what barry did and more about how hard it is to combat this type of behaviour in a formal work setting.

Right? I was surprised they were saying that while the yelling scene was going on given that sally clearly did care, she just knew she couldn’t really do anything about it.
