    Good content. It would be nice if TH-cam algorithm promotes more small channels and and less BS/baitclick/ads channels.
    I learned a lot about Shanghai with your videos.

    A reminder to all viewers again: When transferring from metro to bus, or bus to bus, or bus to metro within two hours, you will get a 1-CNY discount, the maglev or the ferry are not included. If you cost more than 70-CNY on metro within a month, you will get an extra 10% discount everytime when taking a metro in the month.

    Your content is pretty informative! But there's still one thing - be sure to check which line is for the single train as a bunch of stations on line 3 and 4 is incorporated. That is Both line is available on the same platform, tricky though

    • @timmytumbler

      This is true, however there is the information board, numbers on the train and usually they are colour coded also.

    When you are new to a big metro city like New York, Shanghai... you need a few days to get used to the system that is there.
    After that, you will be doing ok.

    Thanks for making this video. I am a wheelchair user. Watch many videos on shanghai. Have been trying to find out does metro have lift.

    • @timmytumbler

      They do, and claim 100% do, but many old line stations like 1-5 have them behind locked doors, but staff will be helpful.

    What is RMB - payment currency?

    Thank you so much, this was most informative for my upcoming business trip. Can I use cash to purchase a metro card from the machine? Or would I have to go to the desk?

    • @timmytumbler

      You can use cash, coins without a doubt and trips are usually 3-6 rmb, single ticket machines do take notes but can be fickle

      Some machines might not support cash service, but most do; you can always purchase one at the desk.

    Hi.. In 2 months I will visit Shanghai, can I still pay cash at the machine? Or all paymeny have to use Alipay/ wechatpay ? I was very surprised that everyone said couldn't pay cash at all to buy MRT ticket. Is that true? Bcoz in your video, still pay cash to buy ticket in machine. Are all cities in China not able to use cash? I am very doubtful and I really need information about this. Thanks adnvance

    • @timmytumbler

      You can still pay cash at the machine, and still pay cash at the desk to get a Shanghai Transportation card for multiple trips, however, there are indeed less machines, but they are still there.

    • @qkx-yx8qe

      At present there are some machines that does not fully support cash service (for example, that one at 12:11 in this video); some people might be unlucky. However, cash payment is bound to be available at the service desk; in fact there is a regulation in China: "Except in cases where non-cash payment instruments shall be used in accordance with the law, no unit or individual may refuse to accept cash." No, Mumbai is the best in the entire universe. How dare you compare it with Shanghai and/or New York!

    "Contacting the service staff"... Oh yeah, nobody speaks English. And dont forget to mention the obnoxious security scan at every entrance that forbids any knives, spray (deodorant etc). Good luck if you bought a kitchen knife, you have to walk home. Oh nooo I forgot. In order to buy a kitchen knife you have to show your valid Chinese ID or passport... ahh.. life is good in the middle kingdom

    A bit irrelevant perhaps, but China seems centuries ahead of the west. And millennia ahead of my third world country, india. I would recommend no one to inspect our country's metro system after you have watched this video.

      Thanks, I have done an India video, search for it on my channel, it was of a relatively recent metro line in Noida
