I’m glad we’re standing firm on the importance of the family, while all around the world the family and children are being transformed or shelved.

I am grateful for this devotional. I do suffer from this same gender attraction. Yes I struggle, but I know that God has a plan for me and that I’m in his arms! Love President Oaks’ talks!!

“…whatever our own variations in the diversity of our Father in Heaven’s creations, He loves all of us, and his perfect plan of happiness has a place for all.” Love it! The emphasis on both love and law is so wise in my opinion. Thank you President and Sister Oaks!

Watched it with my son and husband and our sister missionaries. We had them for dinner. Loved it!! I was so surprised at how many of our Seminary kids did not know about it.

People think that love is synonymous with acceptance of lies. We don’t need to accept lies or acknowledge them. If we love we speak the truth in meekness.

I hope this encourages LDS women to marry me.

my son is so very tired of being scolded. Fathers and mothers of ysa or ya men express a sadness at the problems with the ya and ysa women. There seems to be no understanding in the church about the absolute toxicity, arrogance, and rudeness of so many of the single adult women in the United States church today. Utah is particularly toxic. There seems no call to them to have a desire to marry, to support their husbands, to be willing to desire children. All the YA men i know desire marriage but date requests are met with extreme rudeness and cut downs. Combined with societal, social, and media put downs-finding a courteus women willing to date and consider a marriage union of equals is like looking for a needle in a haystack. The societal norm is now documented that women believe 80% of men are beneath them. Certainly that group think comes across loud and clear to the men. These are not women with the same desires or goals as Sister Oaks or Sherri Dew.

My three sons, all of whom are recently returned missionaries are experiencing the same challenges you have mentioned. I think it is especially difficult for white men to find a woman to date with a myriad of political, cultural beliefs, and behaviors that are unacceptable.
Yet, President Oaks is a prophet of God and his encouragement to keep trying is the best we can encourage our sons and daughters to do. Although, I have also encouraged my sons to pray for their wives and our daughter to pray for her husband that the Lord will bless them, strengthen them, protect them from evil, prepare them, nurture and support them in the covenant path of discipleship, and that when the time comes to put them in their path that they will be able to recognize them. The Lord knows who the spouses are that my children are supposed to marry. Sometimes, all we can do is the best that we can do. God does not expect anymore than our personal best!
Success in this life is derived by our application of the Doctrine of Christ to all areas of our lives: requires believing in what we are choosing and doing is of God, (personal change management), (we are "all the way in" with our focus on Christ helping us to "accomplish the things we are commanded to do" (think Peter walking on water), (unity with Godhead, teach all things, helping us remember all things, verification of truth, and personal validation of covenant path), and (conditioning (like an athlete preparing to be competitive) and building spiritual strength to be of service to others in their time of need.

I'm sorry he is going through this. I felt this way before I met my wife in the early 2000's, though at the time, it was mostly what is called ghosting today. I hope this doesn't sound hollow, but it was only once I stopped worrying about marriage and decided to enjoy my life as it was when I met my wife. Don't get me wrong, marriage was still a goal. My wife is what I would say is an atypical Utah member, especially at the age when we met. She is kind, loving, and generous with her time.

I thought about this some more, and need to clarify. I did have other prospects, but they didn't ever feel right. It didn't take long after meeting my future wife that I knew. The Spirit whispered to me that she and I were meant to be together. And American and Utah culture wasn't close to as bad as it is today.
