I have the ISDT Q6 and it's been fantastic. I can power it at home with a laptop power supply and through that it can do 11.6A constant, and about 13A off a lipo on the field - a lot of power for such a small thing. The only trouble I have is it won't discharge batteries to storage (for those days where you break all quads). It discharges at less than an amp for 5 mins then I get an overheat warning
I've only tried it in sims so far, but music makes a lot of difference to me, it's like don' think (worry )about what i'm doing as much , focusing on the music helps me fly better, it's strange, I had noticed that when playng with car sims years back, music always helped get the best laps.
I believe the Battgo is a special XT60 connector (XT60i) that has a unique ID chip inside to identify each batteries. I believe they could use the Dallas 1-wire protocol.
With the single pin on the xt60, 1wire serial is nothing new or particularly crazy. They can feed the checker with V+ and gnd, and it can use the 3rd pin to transfer data to an internal chip/circuit. I would guess they're trying to standardize a system of putting some sort of battery management/eeprom/whatever else into the pack, so it can pass along health info of various sorts. like, has it been over charged/discharged. The peak current last discharge. Through that info they could also get a properly accurate IR reading when in use at real world currents, etc, etc. Then the battery checker can collect that info and maybe allow it to be downloaded to your pc or whatever to graph information over time. I know I'd love a system like that, I have been trying to do a similar thing manually, keeping my data on an excel sheet referenced to a number/letter on each pack. Definitely not very streamlined, but I'd like to end up with some useful data on battery brands in the end. All that said, I can't see most fliers giving half a shit about it. Most of the guys I know are more interested in flying than getting data and are quite happy to just abuse their packs and then buy more when they die prematurely, than to take some preventative measures.
Goggles with the ability to play and overlay music via headphones would be cool. I have no knowledge of the limitations or complications but ideally would be able to run wireless earbuds, select and play music via your phone wirelessly and also leave a title and time stamp/marker or whatever so you can sync the music timing with your HD footage for editing. I've also wondered what a 3d setup would be like if runcam made it. ie 2 x runcam split cameras and specific electronics to suit. Seems a shame not to make the most of having two eyes
Looks interesting. Qc3.0 is pretty useful for fast charging smartphones, tablets off lipos in the field. Not sure if any hd cameras use it? I'm a bit surprised they didn't add an extra external load connection for discharging unused packs at a decent speed..
jonc67uk they have an entirely different product for that. quick discharging. apparently needs a LOT of heatsink. I've got that coming too. interesting...
Is there a way to check the voltage on a tiny whoop sized battery? It says it will do 1s but idk how to make it read out the voltage. I have connected a seperate battery to the XT-60 to give it at least 5V but when I connect the tiny whoop 1s battery via a JST like shown in the pictures of the product I get no voltage shown in cell #1
Saw you in the new Gemfan prop trailer. Were you involved in the design of that prop? Also, nice to see someone taking interest in lowering the entry cost to the hobby. I have always wondered why and how people are selling frames for over $100 for a bare frame. Do they do it because they know they will be cloned and they need to make up that cost upfront, or is it actually costing them that much to manuf.? There is no chance in hell I would ever spend $100 on a frame when there is so much more that goes in to a good flying quad. That might be an interesting video. Put the exact same current electronics on a Blackout H quad from 3 years ago, and an Armattan Chameleon (or other recent hype train frame) and see if you notice a difference.
Ryan I would definitely notice a flight difference between frames but you're right, it doesn't make much difference. $100 frames exist because it's so hard to make a buck from them to make it worthwhile. it's ridiculous and I'm gonna change it for good with the next pair of frames I have coming. my acro frame (if the next prototype works out right), and a super light simple spec frame that's gonna be dirt dirt dirt cheap. as cheap as I can possibly make it. both of these frames will be. I hope to change what people imagine when they think of FPV miniquad
I recently started to watch a lot of your videos after I come back to mini quad fpv after 3 years. And I love them. :-) and I actually start floss because every time I go brush my teeth I hear your voice in my head "if you need to choose between brushing or flossing, choose to floss" :D
I purchased this device and it is awesome! I need some help updating the FW. I am using a Windows 10 PC. I downloaded the files from the ISDT website. I manually installed the driver but when you open the program, it does not see the device. when the device is plugged into the PC nothing powers up. I am using the micro usb port on the side connected directly to my PC What am I missing? ThanksRich
Hello. Can it be used to monitor the battery from the smartphone? The battery can not be removed from the phone. Can be monitored while discharging the battery through usb or other method by this controller you present? Or other product that can help me. Thank you.
Would it not measure the battery-health by storing a "profile" on each battery on the checker the first time you plug in the battery, and measure the different margins on each charging of the batteries?
Esk race yeah that's what I first thought. just like a serial number. but what if you start moving around to different devices? so now I think it'll need to have some other component in the battery.
What do you mean about different devices? Charging the batteries on other chargers? The identity it creates would still be kept when you plug it in again after using other chargers, but the margins the battery would create by using other chargers would also then be different..so if the protocol the checker use does'nt calibrate this into the calculation, then it would be a problem, but don't you think they would'nt think about that also? We did :) hehe
no what he means is if you use an id chip then the data is just stored on the charger and if you use different chargers you would have a single batterys stats spread over those chargers unless they all centralized there stats for battery's. Seems a bit over the top tbh. Just mark the battery with the amount of times you have charged it if you want to keep track.
Would'nt that be a mather of choice then? If you buy the product, why don't use it with the batteries you use? It's portable and still,if you got a ground station at home you use,you will still keep track with this one...if you choose to use it... what is most likely if you buy it in the first place. Of course would a status-function on the battery itself be handy, but would'nt that be a sacrifice for weight and perfomance on the quad? I don't see that as a better solution, but maybe it's a mather of taste in handyness ;)
all it really needs to do for battery health is keep track of the batteries IR each time you plug it in.. so a simple serial number tied to each pack and storage of IR figures each time you plug it in to the checker will give overall batt health.. as the IR climbs the pack degrades.. charge cycles don't matter that much, just IR figures.. it just needs a simple serial number that the checker stores and makes a profile for that pack.. each time you plug it in it does a IR check on the pack and as the IR climbs the battery degrades.. on battery health the only thing that matters is IR..
Oh by the way, do you have any experience with the Astro-X X5/X6 frame? It seems like a pretty sweet deal for a light(ish) freestyle build, and the quality seems exceptional if I go by what the reviews say.
Regarding flossing you mentioned at the end, I do actually floss more after watching your videos.. but I'm probably doing it wrong. What is the best technique? How often?
+ Kebab FPV.....First of all thanks for all the vids, your doing a top job!!! Just wanting to know in your own opinion would you for for the ISDT BG-8S or BC-8S....i like the battery graphic aswell for the BC-8s, cheers!
I floss more now than I did before I watched your videos,. So that's a win in my book. Keep thinking outside the box, pushing limits and sharing...thanks, hope you're having fun! Oh, ps I was hoping this batterygo would help me get better lap times , guess not Thanks for the review.
How can a get a floss 3". My local club is starting 3" racing and everyone is building 3" and i can find a frame i want and 1407 motors are sold out everwhere.
StevieGTO4 get fpv is great but sometimes Limited selection too. you can always find them on Amazon. Brother Hobby tornado T1s ,always overpriced though lol.www.amazon.com/iPower-Motor-Brushless-Quadcopter-130mm-180mm/dp/B072JYFVBN/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1503765639&sr=8-3&keywords=1407+brushless+motor Or you could go the ultralight! 1306/4000kv route!, 20x20fc&4in1 aluminum Hardware, vtx-03, micro-cam, quad blades, 2 motor screws, tiny 4s!.. ect ect kill them with lightweight agility!,,but still get dusted off in the straights.
StevieGTO4 I have a vendor that has the brother hobby and hyperlite 1407's in any kV as well as a really good three inch frame that isn't on the market yet...if you want a hookup i can have him contact you...
StevieGTO4 go for the Geprc sparrow 3 inch with some mead redbottoms with some kind of 20 x 20 flytower esc combo with the eachine vtx03 and runcam micro
I need some help...I can't figure out why I fly my four inch significantly better than my 5 inch. My 4 inch has 1407 motors, weighs 188 grams and I even sometimes fly it with a 170 gram battery...regardless of the weight I still fly it better than my regular 5 inchers with 2205's...
Kabab FPV it very well could. I have one quad with some t motor f40's and a while back they seemed to powerful for me...but at the same time I'm running 27 second laps on most 2 minute multigp tracks...is that just because I'm being clean with my flying? And is there any tuning I can do to not get into the power band as quickly on my 5 inch?
Beau some people put expo on the throttle but I don't like that. I want the raw power. another option is just to link max power to ~85% so the lesser power is more evenly spread out over the throttle stick travel. you won't notice much less speed. a lot of the time it's not about going really fast and making sure your throttle is pegged at 100%. the clean lines you take matter a lot. also makes for much more efficient flying.
Hey! One other thing...you should start a pateron and a slack channel...give access to the slack to your paterons and then use the patreon cash flow to fund giveaways once a month and to help test new products you want to bring to market or develop...Joshua Bardwell does this very thing and it's a huge help when you've got questions and want instant answers from an experienced community
Beau that is actually an interesting idea. I'm not really interested in the money but I like the idea in a subscription to an audience that is curated. I'll think about it.
Hi Kanab I need a little bit of help on my drone I have a receiver FS- A8S I've been trying to bind it to my Qx7 I was wondering does it work with my taranis if you could help me on it l would appreciate it thank Angel
www.battgo.org/ At the bottom they have a features section. Looks like batteries in the furture may have the new XT-60i connector and be able to store information or give more information. This product maybe just released before other products are released to use all of it's features.
When a techqui sees one and starts to focus on the new gadget.......Boom! kachinggg!.Hahahaa I love gadget. By the way, when you set the mode to USB charge do you need to plug it to ac or does it come with any Dc cord?
hi! i've got an EVO 5" frame and i was wondering how you mount your FPV camera. i have an Arrow V2 and it dosn't tilt up too much. pirofliprc.com/HyperLite-EVOUniversal-FPV-Camera-Mount-CHOOSE-COLOR_p_3806.html this is what i'm using to mount the camera.
I floss a little bit more now, though only 'cause I already had 2 different flossers as permanent fixtures of my PC desk and one in my wallet. Thanks for the updates as always! :)
Thanks for all your great videos I just bought the 1407 Cobra Champions the gold model and I'm having a really hard time finding a frame that I like in a 4-inch that I can mount the battery on the top have you got any suggestions
3xlicit E.A.R. won't be for at least a month however. the floss 2 is an option but it could be a bit lighter. I think it'd about 52g in the 4" 1407 version. the new one coming will be around 40g.
All this time I have watched your vids but I have always wondered what floss you mean? Cleaning teeth using floss or flying a floss frame? I'm only cleaning my teeth for now but I will buy the frame as well when I get more experience
You've taken my floss game to a whole new level! I use to be just a picker! Who brushed twice a day...Now I use combination pick+ extra fat floss!! Rigs strategically-placed, everywhere!!. In assorted colors & flavors of course! 😁 Your thoughts on coconut pulling?.. Good, Bad?
Kabab FPV Yeah i'm thinking it could be really useful to have a parallel charging board with the smart plug setup and a bunch of relays, that senses your battery type and voltage, it could then, with a two part charger, balance the matching lipos and then charge, whilst balancing the next group.
BattGo is a standard they are pushing. Manufactures add a small circuit board to the battery. Hopefully this will eliminate the need for a balance charger if you have an xt60i connector. www.battgo.org/
I have the first isdt charger and just got another in the August kwad box.. They produce awesome stuff I almost ordered that new battery checker this week but I will wait a bit. Thanks for the extra info. Oh yeah my hippo is flying nice, you should look at my latest post it's inspired by your tree gap video
Hurry up with the goggles Bob, we really need something better than the current options out there, to include a broader ipd adjustment range, better screens, a better dvr, a better fit and finish to hopefully include different faceplate options for different shaped faces, and diversity receivers that are decent and have an intuitive and user friendly interface....... All without breaking the bank of course ;-)
Too bad the Q6 seems to be not that great. Great size and form factor, but mine is not working anymore after 6 months and found a bunch of people having issues with this charger :(
Your Absolutely Correct About the Flossing Lol, and I Sincerely Appreciate The Time you take to Make these Videos Even if I Personally can't find enough time to watch Every One that you put out. I cannot Help but be Amazed, and EXTREMELY impressed in Anyone that actually has a Career, and FPV is a Hobby, AND can find the time to make & upload videos on TH-cam when I can barely get through a day of just working and trying to get Everything Done Myself. I Just Do Not know how you guys Do it!!!!!:) Great video as ALWAYS Man!!!! Keep up the FANTASTIC WORK My Friend!!! #WHATWOULDWEDOWITHOUTDENTIST:)
Sadly, I don't floss every day, despite my awesome dentist telling me I should. People are stupid, what can I say? Secondary thought: Does that pool ever get swum in? It seems like that little pool ROV is working overtime, but seems lonely. Keep em coming at your pace.
BillyD FPV if I recall, some pockets of plaque can get under the gum line and require professional treatment to remove. My water pick has some sort of tip for cleaning that type of surface, but I can’t speak for its effectiveness.
What about music, try to play "The impossible game" or "super hexagon" they are both simple hardcore games with great soundtrack. Then when you feel it, try to fly with their soundtrack 😉 For me, I fly always with music if there extra noise. Otherwise like to hear how blades cuts through the silence!
Have a great sunday :) Always a good time to stop by watching your videos! Looking forward to your new acro frame :) Are you kidding me, even the wifey now is flossing lol
The BatteryGo is probably just a custom XT60 connector with two pins which identify a magic number (could be as simple as an SMD resistor of a custom value). No need for new batteries, just a connector to give some kind of ID, because the rest of the data comes from the standard measurements plus a timestamped data log. But then I want to upload and download the data and have some mobile and PC apps. Similar technology already exists from other companies, but overpriced and too big/heavy. This idea of a custom connector is great though! If not, then somebody else please invent this idea and give me a cut of the profits LOL!
nope, it's a one wire bidirectional interface, the chip in the Battery keeps track of temperature (it counts also the amount of times it had overtemperature), it keeps track of the amount of charges, it keeps track of the amount of times of overdischarge and overcharge. It has saved the Brandname of the Battery, and also autoconfigures BattGo compatable chargers with the right amount of charge current... The most important feature is the temperature, the charger can shutdown if the Battery gets to hot ;) With the other features you can check the condition of the batterie ^^
Robin Cerny wow even better. Especially great for kids getting into the hobby who might not be so careful with battery settings. Hope this takes off as a standard else we're stuck in battery choice to start with.
I love your videos man, but you're killing me with the stuff about the Monster looking like HD, through your Dom V3s with their 800 x 480 resolution and crap optics. Meanwhile you dog ProSight while you've only used it with SD goggles. C'mon Kabab! Borrow/buy a set of Avegant Glyphs and try the ProSight with actual HD optics, then report back. (Oh, BTW the new ProSight HX cam is even better.) Anyway other than that, keep up the great videos. :)
kenkamm I had vuzix. I gave them away. prosight is great but the current camera (not the new one) looks worse than my monster when it's in HP mode which is the only mode anyone uses. it's not transmitting 720p in HP mode. the signal is 720p but the actual quality is not at all. try them both yourself. I work with connex here and there. even went to Israel to visit them in person. I've said over and over again, the value of connex is absolutely not in the quality. it's in the signal and the signal alone. the new camera makes the connex fantastic however. I know you don't believe me so the next time you're at a race or something, see for yourself first hand. I'm not into spreading bullshit. if I'm talking about it, it's gotta have some legitimacy or I've had some experience with it.
kenkamm the vuzix goggles are the best ones in existence. the Zeiss are low resolution, glyphs are weird optics and lower quality projection. what goggles are you recommending. I've literally went to visit the connex company in Israel. they too use Dom V3 or Vuzix and recommend the Vuzix. at every demo event they use Vuzix too...
Kabab FPV Now I know you’re off your rocker for sure, hehe. The Glyph has superior optics by far. Amimon has their own reasons for pushing Vuzix I guess... but if you see the discussions on the ProSight Facebook group, everyone who has tried both says the Glyph is superior. In fact I think you’re the only person I’ve ever heard the prefers the screen door view of the Vuzix, that’s the one thing people never argue about, Glyph optics are bright, clear, pixel sharp. They don’t fit everyone’s face tho.
I try to keep up a good flossing schedule but some times forget, but then you remind me. Thank you. Also reading things about gum disease being linked to Alzheimer's can really persuade anyone to start. Don't forget.....Floss
8s? Geez, i heard 5s is the future, but i ain't buying it. If you were to over discharge a battery out in the field, that thing could potential save the battery by balancing the cells, but so will my el cheapo turnigy checker.
Yes, I honestly floss more due to the constant reminders. Thanks FPVdad.

I want the raw power. another option is just to link max power to ~85% so the lesser power is more evenly spread out over the throttle stick travel. you won't notice much less speed. a lot of the time it's not about going really fast and making sure your throttle is pegged at 100%. the clean lines you take matter a lot. also makes for much more efficient flying.
where can i get the mini battery checker? whats it code?
Link in description? I don't think this was very popular
what do you mean by "floss" at the end of your videos (google translate indicates teeth cleaning) ?
He is a dentist and means exactly that
9freeky I finally understood it, but as English is not my mother tongue I was not sure first if there was another meaning
Kabab FPV that's why I said use the money for give sways ;)
Hi Kanab I need a little bit of help on my drone I have a receiver FS- A8S I've been trying to bind it to my Qx7 I was wondering does it work with my taranis if you could help me on it l would appreciate it thank Angel
angel rivera You can't bind a Flysk receiver to a FrSky QX7 ☺️
Leo U. I appreciate your reply. Thank you
www.battgo.org/ At the bottom they have a features section. Looks like batteries in the furture may have the new XT-60i connector and be able to store information or give more information. This product maybe just released before other products are released to use all of it's features.
How do u test 1s batteries on this tester
Not sure. I don't even know where mine is anymore
When a techqui sees one and starts to focus on the new gadget.......Boom! kachinggg!.Hahahaa I love gadget. By the way, when you set the mode to USB charge do you need to plug it to ac or does it come with any Dc cord?
I am a 100% 6s Pilot. Sooooooo freaking annoying when you show off your unattainable 6s Packs I'd kill for. :)
Thanx for the video.
hi! i've got an EVO 5" frame and i was wondering how you mount your FPV camera. i have an Arrow V2 and it dosn't tilt up too much.
pirofliprc.com/HyperLite-EVOUniversal-FPV-Camera-Mount-CHOOSE-COLOR_p_3806.html
this is what i'm using to mount the camera.
I floss more often now. You're reminding me almost daily. Thanks!
I've got one coming. crazy frame. it'll be super cheap. gonna be super popular for sure.
I'm only cleaning my teeth for now but I will buy the frame as well when I get more experience
both
That's like the old school balancer with a screen.
You will find that your acro flows much better with music
You've taken my floss game to a whole new level! I use to be just a picker! Who brushed twice a day...Now I use combination pick+ extra fat floss!! Rigs strategically-placed, everywhere!!. In assorted colors & flavors of course! 😁 Your thoughts on coconut pulling?.. Good, Bad?
WCO lll you can coconut yourself all you like. it does nothing
Kabab FPV I kind of thought it was just internet woo woo. Thank you dr. Bob!.. And please don't give all your secrets away. ;)
Maybe an I2C chip, kinda like a chip on a printer cartridge.
Paul Morris that's what I'm thinking too. could be really interesting
Dam that's cool concept with the go
I have the first isdt charger and just got another in the August kwad box.. They produce awesome stuff I almost ordered that new battery checker this week but I will wait a bit. Thanks for the extra info. Oh yeah my hippo is flying nice, you should look at my latest post it's inspired by your tree gap video
mine shows % of batt when I plug the xt60
They probably updated it since this video
Hurry up with the goggles Bob, we really need something better than the current options out there, to include a broader ipd adjustment range, better screens, a better dvr, a better fit and finish to hopefully include different faceplate options for different shaped faces, and diversity receivers that are decent and have an intuitive and user friendly interface....... All without breaking the bank of course ;-)
Getting in to the floss game way late but better late than never I suppose. Thanks again for your invaluable advice on FPV and dental hygiene!
I thought about flossing. is that any good?
Anthanium it's a start
I Just Do Not know how you guys Do it!!!!!:)
Great video as ALWAYS Man!!!!
Keep up the FANTASTIC WORK My Friend!!!
#WHATWOULDWEDOWITHOUTDENTIST:)
Well I think one pin for such small data is ok.....for example our ESC are also flashed only by one signal pin :)
Sadly, I don't floss every day, despite my awesome dentist telling me I should. People are stupid, what can I say?
Secondary thought: Does that pool ever get swum in? It seems like that little pool ROV is working overtime, but seems lonely.
Keep em coming at your pace.
Michael Rollins yeah my nephew uses the pool a lot.
True story: I actually do floss more because of your videos..... Still have a gingivitis problem. Thoughts?
This comment is for other people that might be having the same problem.
BillyD FPV if I recall, some pockets of plaque can get under the gum line and require professional treatment to remove.
My water pick has some sort of tip for cleaning that type of surface, but I can’t speak for its effectiveness.
I try to floss,,, but I hurts. Must be doin it wrong?!?
I started flossing every day after your advice
are you a dentist? whats with the flossing?
Yes I am. Please floss
@@Kabab usually after every meal. Food always gets caught in all the cavaties i have. I wish i was kidding
I FLOSS EVERY TIME YOU POST A VIDEO. No video, no floss. Don't let me down kabab.
You make super very nice movies
I've been flossing for decades but switched off of "the floss that glides" due to your recommendation 😄.
What about music, try to play "The impossible game" or "super hexagon" they are both simple hardcore games with great soundtrack. Then when you feel it, try to fly with their soundtrack 😉
For me, I fly always with music if there extra noise. Otherwise like to hear how blades cuts through the silence!
Have a great sunday :)
Always a good time to stop by watching your videos!
Looking forward to your new acro frame :)
Are you kidding me, even the wifey now is flossing lol
If your developing a Google's please design one with an pid of 76 for us big face guys
Marcus Mc Kay I'm trying. I have a big head and nose too. it's got the widest fit range I could get them to do.
volume was up. i had to look out my windows. thought my neighbors dogs were outside.....
Love this stuff. Don't know what it does, still don't know but it charges my phone 😂
Splash FPV yeah my sentiments exactly. not sure what it's for but it's awesome at keeping my phone running.
I started flossing because of you. Maybe not quite every day....
More videos damnit!!!
I actually have started flossing b/c these videos
Flossing !😬👍
Only floss the teeth you want to keep.....haha I already floss everyday but it is good to remind people. Thumbs up to you!
Kabab FPV You need the right goggles. Vuzix is garbage.
kenkamm the vuzix goggles are the best ones in existence. the Zeiss are low resolution, glyphs are weird optics and lower quality projection. what goggles are you recommending.
I know I started flossing because you remind me to.
So instead of "Don't forget to floss", maybe now use "Don't forget to balance!" :p
Beerad FPV except that I feel like if it is balanced to the 10th then it's good enough
Yeeeap, I Floss everyday. I feel brain washed...damn you Bob! Don't forget to upload more videos. Thanks for your time mate.
Hahaha at first glance I read "smart butt checker"
8s? Geez, i heard 5s is the future, but i ain't buying it. If you were to over discharge a battery out in the field, that thing could potential save the battery by balancing the cells, but so will my el cheapo turnigy checker.
I'm only starting to considering flossing... to answer you.
time will tell..
Without flossing I am not complete :) 2-3x daily, prefer mint taste wax tape. Greeting !
I am flossing right now
Yes, I am flossing more, thanks to your nagging.
But if that's what it takes, oh well.
Keep it up.
Thanks
