I decided to do a comparison video of an Elation Platinum 5r Pro versus an Elation Design Spot 575e. The Platinum Spot is on the left and the Design Spot is on the right. In person and on video the Platinum spot is brighter than the design spot on every color. Also notable is that the Platinum is capable of producing a smaller and wider spot. The first clip shows both fixtures at their lowest zoom angle and the second clip shows the widest beam angle. The Platinum is the winner. Also in the video you can see the difference in speed of pan and tilt movement. The Platinum once again is the clear winner. Where the Platinum falls short is the lack of an animation wheel and very small gobos. The Platinum does however have a built in Wireless receiver. Overall I would have to say the Platinum Spot 5r Pro is the Winner. Hopefully this video will help some others when trying to decide which fixture is right for them.
