Villain McBeardface Reviews: 2017 Chevrolet Impala, Midnight Edition

Although I've reviewed automotive related technology in the past, I've yet to actually review a car. I've been driving for some decades and have had the fortune to drive quite a few different cars, from the high end to the beaters and buckets, but I wouldn't consider myself a gear head or expert. Enthusiast? Yes. So, I was on board when I was offered the opportunity to check out Chevy's 2017 Midnight Edition Impala.

I love my 2017 Impala with the 4G LTE Hotspot. I wondered if I would have regrets after buying it like I have so many new cars in the past. And I can say with out a doubt that this is the BEST NEW CAR I have bought (age 55) and I bought many new cars (being a car guy) even traded them yearly because of regret but the 2 Impala’s the first New Impala was the 2005 Sport Model LS in Black with the ground effect loaded. I owned that car the longest of any new car 5 years putting 50K trouble free miles on her except the fog lights kept burning out. And with over a year under my belt with this 2017 Impala LT in Red Tint Coat Pano Roof treatment it’s a head turner. Love the lines and the space and the average 23MPG CITY and over 35MPG hwy even over 40MPG on one trip!! No lack of power at all. Never got stuck in one of the worst North East Winters this past season and I drive 7 days a week to my restaurant. Never slipped or had any issues. One tiny regret is the day after I bought my new Impala this Midnight Edition took my cars spot on the lot. For the few extra dollars I would of considered it over the one I had bought. ALthough the sticker on mine was $33K and I landed it for just under $25K Easy to get over $8000 off a new Impala. No one is buying large cars. And to bad because you get a lot more car than the any midsized sedan but you can have this for a lot less then a similar optioned midsize sedan.

I am considering getting a 2017 impala. It has 32,000 miles on it. My concern is the 3.6 v6 motor timing chain history. Also, I have heard that the impala had major air conditioning, compressor, condenser problems that are very costly to repair...especially the 2017. Has this been your experience? I drove the car and it drives wonderful but the reliability is an unknown for me. Thanks for your input. Steve

'The Midnight Edition' looks nice and wicked there and all with the two tailpipes behind it, with the chrome tips too... And even with the Sliver and Black style rims. Wicked Chevy Impala 'The Midnight Edition'. The Tenth Generation of The Chevy Impala and the last of it. #RIPChevroletImpala 1958-2019 You had your run for 'Generations' sorry to see you go.
