I find the guy horrendously smug and not especially funny. But life would be shittier if we all liked the same stuff so good for you if you enjoy the whole show.

@@joannaedssay5988 I think "Pointless" is pretty fun, if you like you could check it out! There might be some conversations behind the scenes about what is OK to share. Either way, Richard might not have had a chance to reply or they might have decided that other replies were more fun to read out, who knows... It's too bad, but there were plenty of other fun messages!

I never understand the signing part. Do people sign their texts? It's pretty likely your contacts have your number in their phone as well and they will see who it's from (besides the way they sign on this show, which is part of the fun, is by nickname and alike so you would have to know the person)
Most people don't sign their texts, I don't think. It's just the older generation who live in an imaginary world where people still write letters.

Do the celebs get their phones back and then immediately, frantically, send out a second message explaining that it was a McIntyre game all along? Considering that, which celeb do we think has waited the longest before sending that second corrective text?
I remember reading somewhere that they know ahead of time they're going to be on it so they can warn their friends and family.

how do they send the message to everyone individually? that's what's suspicious to me... if you sent an imessage to your entire contacts list, they would all get a group message and see everyone else's number/replies which they definitely wouldn't do especially for celebrities

Not gonna lie, I think xander's wife Hannah is as cute as a button, but I've had a look at some more recent photos and with her hair grown out again she looks a little bit like Hilary swank
I used to work on this show. The way it works is, Michael discusses what text the celeb is ok for him to send. Once they agree on the text, the celeb is asked to pick out 5 to 10 contacts, preferably celebrities, that they think would give a funny response. And the celeb can even contact the potential receiver of message before the show to prepare them, and help them to write a good response. So it's a funny premise, but ultimately completely planned and fake
TV has never been real.. Only fools believe everything they see.. Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear
I don't think you'd write about how they do the "Send to All". Are you too bitter to let people enjoy stuff? Why do fake "Send to All" when you can easily actually do it on the show? You can tell by how the celebrities react to the text being sent and to the responses that it is completely and utterly genuine. Michael did "Send to All" himself with his phone with James Corden and you can tell that it's real.

This is so not real at all. As if any celeb would let someone take over their phone and send a random message. It's all rehearsed beforehand. Admittedly it's funny, but it's not real at all. They are literally banking on viewers eating up this shit.

i dont think that its not real entirely. just more likely that people they text realise its for the show. also the guests probably get any really serious contacts omitted or they delete them beforehand. i dont think its entirely fake but i do think its planned and restricted. how would his assistant not know alexander was on the show and that this game was involved. so i think theres the element of playing along.
This is not funny. I'm surprised Alexander Armstrong has taken part. It's the sort of thing horrible schoolkids would do. No good explaining afterwards, you have made someone feel mortified. One way to lose friends.
