We have all of the results from the Sweet 16, and so we now know exactly which Cards are going to be surviving & advancing on to the next round, the Elite 8.
So, in this video RJ & I are going to break-down the Sweet 16 voting for the Cash Back Region & the Travel Region, and discuss all of the Credit Cards that are going to be advancing to the next round. Then we’ll take a look at the Updated Bracket, and I’ll give my predictions for which Credit Cards I think are going to win each matchup, and advance to the Final Four.

The Bilt and Aspire card losing is a shame. The Gold isn’t even a travel card and CSP is just for partners and insurance. No way I’d take that over the Aspire
ive made that argument often about Gold isn’t a travel card. at least plat manages to maintain relevance and use in the travel reward world.
I mean the partners and insurances are pretty good for the CSP, that alone is arguably worth it
@@newagain9964 It’s a point earning card not a travel card. No one would book travel on the Gold over Bilt, which is why the vote doesn’t make sense to me
Those were my regrets as well. Both are more easily keeper cards. Bilt has better insurance (primary coverage) and as good or better partners. Aspire has credits that are actually travel-related and outweigh the annual fee.
Agreed. The aspire losing was the biggest downside to me with it being one of the most value packed cards out there! The audience familiarity I think definitely played a factor. In general, aspire being a bit more niche, while pretty much everyone knows about the CSP. Still though, I’m surprised the Aspire couldn’t get through. Thanks Royce!
In what universe is the CSP better than the Hilton Aspire?!? I guess if you don't stay at Hiltons. People must really want that primary auto rental CDW.

a strong and easy argument can be made CSR is not even in Chase top 3 best travel cards list. and I would take CSP over CSR even - if u paid 1st yr AF on CSR. Ppl like the CSP because it punches up...significantly.
In a battle of cards, both shiny and bold, twas the Amex Gold that broke the mold. With points for dining, and groceries too, it offered more perks than the Bilt could do. The Bilt Mastercard, a fine card no doubt, gave renters a way to earn points throughout. But the Gold, with its luster, and rewards so sweet, earned four points per dollar, a feat hard to beat.

it seems the ppl voting are highly budget conscious if they think CSR > plat and CSP > aspire as travel focused cards. i like csp but id rather hold an aspire if made to choose.

The Aspire losing is not necessarily surprising but it shouldn’t have lost to the CSP. I agree that the Aspire is a niche card for Hilton loyalists but it is the most powerful hotel CC on the market by leaps and bounds. Pretty disappointing. Now the Gold card winning is a tough one but that is by far and away my highest earning card that I utilize for transfer partners so can let that slide. Now for the Reserve beating the Platinum, I can’t see that; I currently hold both cards and always struggle to find a way to utilize the Reserve on a day to day basis in my CC setup. Nonetheless, I’m team Gold card the rest of the way through. Awesome video.

amex gold sounds like a "cash back" card to me
Some of the matchups last week were a little tough. Some of the results were definitely surprising to me. I didn't expect the Venture X to do as well as it did because of how it has changed. Although I think it and the US Bank Altitude Reserve are good cards. They are cards that I could see myself having in the future. I also voted for the Hilton Aspire card over the Sapphire Preferred. I think the Aspire is a good card and I would like to get it eventually. I plan to get the Sapphire Preferred first, though because it makes better sense for me now. The Sapphire Reserve needs to be updated and refreshed to make it more attractive. The Gold and the Bilt card bracket was a tough one for me to choose. I don't even remember how I voted on it, but I think they're both great cards. Thanks for teaming up with RJ on this tournament! I am glad that the cash back cards were separated from the travel cards this year. I'll look forward to next weeks video!
Of course and thanks so much John! To your points, I think the Altitude Reserve is super underrated and so I was surprised to see the Venture X absolutely destroy it as well. I also voted for the Aspire and it clearly has more value than the CSP, but I’m wondering if the aspire being a bit more niche and more general familiarity with the CSP from the audience played a factor.
