glad to see Honda worked out the flame out issue by 2022.. I have 2019 450L and it cost me $1100 for new ECU to correct. well worth it but it shouldn't have come off factory floor with the issue.. great vid tho and good luck
They didn’t really work it out, it will become prevalent when doing tight trails and making sharp u-turns. It’s the side-effect of meeting emissions standards, and giving it the fuel it needs puts it outside of those standards.
I just test rode a 2023 CRF450RL with 15 miles... I've been riding Honda dirt bikes for 30 years... It flamed out on me 4 plus times around the parking lot. Pretty terrible, but It did have a super moto set up and I'm still gonna buy one. ...... Probably get a Athena get sx1 soon.... Etc etc
So at upwards of 70mph or higher I hear the engine and/or wind buffeting, does she feel steady/strong? What about riding her at 70mph + for 2 hours? Would this stress the bike or you very much? Also would any mod of slightly larger windshield benefit you? This bike is more than I can afford new but you never know what might pop up on the used market when I'm ready to buy? That said, knowing the answer to my questions would help me know what the bike is worth to me. I like it as I see her ridden. peace & be safe
honestly has more give in the engine if he had a better sprocket size itd get more speed but id say you could ride this bike for hours without having to worry about that
I've been coming to that conclusion myself so hearing your "hands on" take is a big help. MY Theory is that a bike that can top out at 100mph will be able to operate at 75% of that top speed. If this bikes could run 120mph I'd say she could be run at 75% of that, about 85-90mph. This is only a theory of mine saying a bike can operate fine at 75% of it's top end speed. But I do believe this bike can handle the 75MPH Interstate speeds I have here & do it w/o any problem. She's a little on the high side($$) for me but this bike can do what I'd want w/o having to swap out the sprockets. I think I'd break the bike in as a stock bike & after properly broken in, then put better tires & consider anything else, if needed? So you're having a good time on yours? I'm glad you are fortunate enough to own one. Money is tight for me. peace
@@StephenTsamutalisstock the bike has a rev limit in 6th gear at 8500rpm, which is 90mph with the stock tire size. If you bypass the clutch switch it disables the speed limit. Will do 106 or so with the stock gearing at the limiter.
props to you for being responsible and finding a 90mph speed limit road 😂
It's nice to know the extra speed is available

Mine tops out around 112 with exhaust, ecu etc etc but is a sketchy place to be on tusk dsports

I was expecting a 6 speed 450 to be faster than a 400 DRZ 5 speed supermoto!?
May be gearing, but I’m sure it’s got a few more mph’s in it after break in.
I was too my d r z will do 100mph I was expecting At least 110 Beautiful Bike a little disappointing with the top end

That's crazy mine goes up to 106
stock? dirt tires? depends on gear ratio, and wheel diameter for what your speedo is programmed for
Yeah down hill
No rev option on the clock?
Mine hit a hard rev limiter at 90.
How is the vibrations in the hands on the highway ?
Dang I thought I needed a 650 lol looks like the 400 is better
