- SCP-4885 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as Find Him.
SCP-4885 is an anomalous humanoid resembling the main character of the popular series of puzzle books Where's Wally? which is known in the US as Where's Waldo? SCP 4885 wears a horizontal red and white striped shirt, a red and white bobble hat, and jeans. However, a noticeable difference in appearance from the character is the entity's paler skin and the lack of eyes.
In the event that a subject knows of SCP-4885's current location at any given time1, SCP4885 will move to the nearest wall and begin to phase into it. SCP-4885 will then appear inside of the subject's body. This leads to an event that victims have so far been unable to survive.

I think they would still do their job. If anything I feel this would give them motivation because their goal is to protect humanity.
If they were starting from scratch it would be insanely difficult for them as they’d have fewer resources and knowledge of the anomalous.

Okay, but if anything, the foundation once again did an AMAZING job at containing the anomaly and figuring out the strategy in case of a potential breach.
The lead researcher actually sacrificed himself as the first test subject to lure Waldo into the automated containment chamber he created.
If someone where to guess where Waldo is but didn’t "know" for a fact he is at that location but believed their guess was correct and it just so happens it was.

containment location is like

Well it's simple. Create an AI to make sure Waldo is contained or not, because he can't attack a non-organic being. and then the AI can simply say to the foundation that Waldo as contained, but it won't give the specific place of Waldo's containment because the AI is the only one who knows that.
That's never been tested. And due to how hard Waldo is to deal with, I don't think they're willing to try to see if an AI is considered a living being that knows Waldo's location.
But in all of this.. It's real? (Be honest, seriously)
This is one of the best scps ive seen, since it ruins my childhood, and the whole aspect of the Foundation not knowing if he is in containment is amazing

@@chrisl.6211 In a real scenario the SCP would have attempted to develop better weapons as soon as they encountered enough bulletproof SCPs to justify the effort. They could at least try to make a more modern version of early-WW2 anti-tank rifles.
The containment protocol for this SCP is so smart, I couldn't have come up with it myself
The key to killing 682 would be to give him a where’s Waldo book but with Waldo edited out of it.
So, if he's got a tracker, I'm guessing their method of knowing he's contained is a computer that will say whether or not he's in a cell without specifying what cell/where it is. That way they can confirm he's in containment without knowing where they need to check

Cross testing with shy guy would be interesting. Show Waldo shy guys face would mean that shy guy would know where Waldo is and Waldo would know where shy guy is so they end up activating each other.
If I was a staff and got infected with the Infohazard, I'd probably just show Waldo a pic of 096 before it kills me, simply out of spite.

I suggest sharing Waldo's location with SCP-682, thus causing Waldo to teleport inside of the Hard to Destroy Reptile's stomach. This wouldn't kill 682 of course, merely give the immortal lizard a nice snack. Waldo would not be able to pull itself up through 682's throat or escape through it's mouth, the way it would be able to with a human victim; unable to escape, Waldo would be destroyed and digested by 682.
Until 682 roars WALDO IS INSIDE ME! Or worse somehow telepathically broadcasts his location.

But then the foundation staff would know Waldo was in there so it’s a huge risk if it manages to escape because other scps put into the same cell with 682
have ended up fighting but usually resulted in a stalemate or not wanting anything to do with it so Waldo most likely would teleport in the cell and then decide not to fight and kill the foundation staff who know he’s in with 682 and he can teleport so if he’s in trouble he’ll most likely just teleport out or phase out of scp 682.

As horrific as it is that this thing is possibly not contained, it is ultimately for the best considering it's nature. Since 4885 is an infohazard and ruthless in nature, it's best to just ensure it's location...specifically Location I, is not known. Andrew Pent specifically said "No need to pray for me. Instead, Pray that you never find Waldo."

This is interesting: If Waldo kills anyone who knows his location, then we could use it against SCP-682, since Waldo is also Immortal, he could kill 682 without problems.

Waldo vs Shy guy would either end in Waldo getting ripped apart since he doesn't have any known regenerative or super strenght or the shy guy would end up becoming an waldo-1 making it a lot more dangerous

Here are a few questions that I had about spc 4885:
1) If the person aware of it's location were to be eliminated before he got there, would he still come and infect the person.
2) If the location would be presented to the shy guy (Spc 096), and assuming Waldo would need to see his face in order to remove his jaw, would the two run after each other until one is destroyed?
3) What would happen if the location was presented to SCP 682?
I kinda assume he'd go 'oh that's just distant kin. Meh. Don't feel like a visit.'
What if the target is in a place that doesn't exist?

1. I mean probably not he's already dead so what's the point?
2. I mean those 2 would probably fight each other.
3. 682 would likely kill 4885 but 682 would gain 4885's powers so it would NOT be worth it.

I always roll my eyes when they say "It can't be harmed by firearms." these writers do know something can be scary without being invulnerable right? If anything making them impervious to weapons makes it less scary because it takes it too far out of the range of my suspension of disbelief.

I was looking forward to this one. Its one of my favorites of the deadlier SCPs. Shy Guy has some serious competition with him.

When some tool would come along before me, then use a pen to -very unceremoniously- "find" and circle Wadlo, ultimately turning it into a "There's Waldo" book. Lovely...

I propose cross-testing between Waldo and Shy Guy. Yeah, one of them is probably gonna be neutralized, but don't you want to know which one?
How to contain him: if you could somehow get him in a containment cell and label it as a different pre terminated SCP or a Keter class SCP that kills all that sees it but it doesn’t move. Technically this means that even knowing the location of Waldo won’t cause anything since you would have no knowledge of what is actually in the cell. Basically you’ll know where he is however since you don’t have knowledge of Him you will just assume it’s the cover SCP and there for it won’t trigger anything. From what I can tell if this didn’t work humanity would be screwed since just knowing that he is on our planet would trigger his kill scenario. As long as nobody enters the cell nothing will happen. Now you may be thinking what if the people who put him there get hunted, well they must also go into the cell and be a sacrifice to get him in there. Once this D-class or anyone else with the knowledge of his location is terminated by Waldo in the cell, you must delete all info on him in the SCP archives and replace it with the cover SCP’s info. Boom he can’t go anywhere because everyone thinks he is something else and there for can’t know HIS location.

This started as one specific affected book where his "first" location was seen amd after that he escaped. The yellow smudge presents his current location so is "allways" an activator. So hiding the corpses and do a confinement randomizer is indeed the only way to contain him, but.. did they find the original book ?
