Normies The name on Miyagi's passport in his secret box, "Keisuke Miyagi ' was how Miyagi was introduced in the opening scene of " The Next Karate Kid" when he receives his medal of honor( the one Hawk stole) at a WWII ceremony. This is the connection to bring Julie Pierce ( Hillary Swank) back. Julie's grandfather was war buddies with Miyagi, and she learned Miyagi Do as a young child from him and her father. Her return has also been leaked.. I highly suggest you all watch " The Next Karate Kid" BTW honestly Julie Pierce fighting was more fluid and loose than both Daniel & Johnny in KK. Hillary Swank is a natural athlete. There's a reason Clint Eastwood cast her in Million Dollar Baby, which she won both an Oscar & Golden Globe. .The most accomplished actor in the franchise
You do realize the “I give up, I give up” entry from Robbie to Kenny was a callback, right? To the first Karate Kid movie when Daniel tried to apologize to Ali after the country club spaghetti incident…
@@pauldavis5665it was meant to be cringe, it’s the fact they missed the callback to Daniel doing this to Ali… where it was also cringe, but that’s the point 😂
In fairness, it took me a minute to realize it was a callback to The Karate Kid after I watched the episode. But also, that particular reactor who called it cheesy basically just doesn't really like Robby! lol It seems like he can't wait to bring up any excuse to rip his character.
This is lowkey one of my favorite episodes because it shows generational healing. The entire premise of the show is built around the rivalry of Daniel and Johnny. A spat in high school dictated the direction of both of their lives, and they've carried forth that anger and resentment for decades. But this new generation are not falling into the same traps as the old one. Brucks got absolutely destroyed, far worse than anything that happened to Daniel or Johnny, and he's able to laugh, apologize for his own failings, and immediately and sincerely offer the help the person who brutalize him. Kyler made all of their lives miserable for seemingly years of bullying in the same way Johnny had done to Daniel. But not even a year after graduation, they're able to come together as more or less friends. There's no animosity between them. No lingering resentment or festering trauma. They're able to move past it. In a way Daniel and Johnny are struggling with, even with multiple seasons of trying to work past it.
@samatar6852 he went there when he left America. He was the Myiagi that was in America that left. Just because he taught in Korea does not mean he is Korean.
@@phoenixmagi2 brother what are you waffling about his name is literally kim sun-yung. That's korean af. He literally talks about his childhood fighting japanese invaders as a child when korea was being occupied..
43:55 Daniel did in fact say "Do what I do" talking about getting a job at 41:13 Daniel doesn't work a 9-5 Rana, he owns the business 😂 also it's Johnny 😂
At least one of the showrunners is a big-time wrestling fan. They even included Chris Jericho references, like Stingray singing along to Chris Jericho's AEW entrance music (Paul Walter Hauser is a massive fan and has wrestled matches). There are also old-school wrestling t-shirts, and wrestler name drops like The British Bulldogs and the Hart Foundation on the show.
Hell, Mike Barnes in the S5 finale literally hit a full-on theatrical Superman Punch into a Slingblade to save Johnny. If that wasn't a nod to pro wrestling, it's a hell of a coincidence.
Apparently y'all forgot the cheesy part when Robbie jumped in front of that game that Kenny was playing at Golf⛳️ & Stuff when Robbie was trying to talk to him was also brought back from The Karate Kid Part 1 when Daniel jumped in front of the game at Golf⛳️ & Stuff to resolve things with Alli & her friends but mostly Alli and it was also on the day of Daniel's Birthday🎂🎁 when Mr. Miyagi gave Daniel his Karate🥋Gear & his first car🚗. And the scene with Daniel & Chozen on Cobra🐍Kai Season 6 Episode 1 when Chozen broke the thick wooden🪵 board/log🪵 was also similar to Mr. Miyagi & Sato's Scene in The Karate Kid Part 2 but Chozen actually broke the thick wooden🪵 board/log🪵.
Best thing about jayden smith karate kid is the memes and the Jayden getting bodied the whole movie lol but you know he does his stuff in the end with Jackies wisdom
I’m still not Kyler’s biggest fan and never will be, but nothing beats having our nerd trio together. They’re the OG trinity of this show. Then again I can argue a bit and say that Sam should’ve had more screen time with the trio. It might be just me, but I also wouldn’t mind seeing the three of them reenact the Spider-Meme. Y’all know the one.
Yeah, unfortunately, the writers turned Kyler into a completely cartoonish character after they brought him back in Season 3. He was nothing like that in Season 1.

I know this may be too late, but I definitely think you guys should watch Best of the Best (1989) before next part of the show starts. You’ll see inspiration not just for the show, but in Johnny’s influences as well.
To be fair: Daniel said to Johnny "Perhaps you should start doing what I do and get a real 9 to 5", so technically you could understand it as a Job offer? :D
"we don't want to fight" but they are the ones who started it. They already said they don't want to talk, but they kept coming. If someone says no, you have to respect their wishes instead of forcing them.

I thought Miyagi Fang was a good name, but agreed that the logo needed more work and was surprised that Gen Z would come up with something so problematic.
There is more than just Myagi Do and Cobra Kai dojos in this show. It's always been them 2 for 5 seasons including season 6. But now there are other players, other Dojos, other Sensei's, and other villains. I can't spoil too much though. But this season gets hotter in part 2. This part 1 is a bit weak compared to the next part. But it's still good, just a very weak start to season 6. Episodes 6, 7 and 8 really kick things into high gear.
