Hi Craig A good introduction to the 3 link couplings, I'm glad you have found a system that works for you. Breaking the main layout.. well if its for the greater good, so be it. Good luck with the new projects and as ever happy shunting! Thanks
Hi Craig. Excellent instructional video; well done! 👍 Firstly, I remember a conversation I had with a well known model shop and he suggested I convert to 3-link couplings. I took on board his advice but I wasn't too sure if the wagons could propel each other without issues, so I'm still researching other modeller's experiences and/or doubts about this method of coupling. Secondly, don't ever consider getting rid of the 'Clayton' again as it is my favourite loco in your collection, especially as it has been so professionally weathered. Finally, yes I remember you poking your head up above the layout in an early video and I believe that was the first time you displayed your face on this channel; correct me if I'm wrong geezer. Good luck with the dismantling of your large layout and I'm looking forward to seeing what you replace it with. Cheers, Paul. 👍❤
Cheers Paul, yes the propelling can be an issue if your curves aren't as gentle as they might be - sadly - but since all my layouts are now going to be end to end - propelling around a curved isn't an issue and more! Cheers buddy 😁
I am just starting a oo layout. I have ordered some 3 link couplings along with some wagons to put together. I have been looking at the different ways people install them so I have a good idea on how to approach it. The downside is Royal mail to US mail takes awhile.
BFC's! Wot, no Mole grips or a big 'ammer? - - You are holding things up to the camera that we can't see, (when the cam decides to focus) because you are off screen to the right! - - - Can't get to the window - snap! Can't reach to clean the glass or change the curtains! (oops!) Can't get steps in either, and a telescopic ladder is at too shallow an angle if I lean it on the wall above the window, so is stress-bent if I stand on it!

Nicely done with the 3 link couplings dude. Look forward to seeing what you come up with next for your new layout. All the best. Brian @ The Angels

Excellent video
BFC is that the technical term😃Good video Craig hook and couplings look good.Poor layout going😪😭
Yes it's going but it's ashes will give birth to more!!😂
@@IronHorseRailways Look forward to see how you get on with it.👍😁
I'll be using them for filming things particularly
I had wondered why my dad had 3 link couplings with springs at the back, which meant they could stretch. Now I know.
That's right! But for me I can live without it, I run fairly short trains anyway so it's not an issue thankfully !
Clank clank clank clank!😂

It's not so fast over here either mate 😂 but we'll done for giving them a try?
good vid thanks lee

You can see all the important bits - if you really need to see how to pull something out with pliers then I'm not sure there's any hope 😂
@@IronHorseRailways Yeah - I'm hopeless! Definitely a lost cause! 🙂
Just brought some how do you put them on coachs
Drill a hole, glue 'em in! 🙂
On the coach not the boges
@@MobileGifte ywa if you're unsure you can use a reference pic on Google 🙂
3 links are irritating enough in O gauge, I can’t imagine them in OO
Honestly I've not found them too bad! But my eyesight is still pretty good so 😂
