"Tallgeese III, yes you should buy this, if you dont have the Master Grade" Me, looking at both my Master Grade AND Real Grade Tallgeese III. Hehe, Tallgeese III go brrrr
Honestly that might be the way to go for the Tallgeese Flugal. The wing binders might be pretty fragile based on my experiences with the MG Wing Zero Ver Ka….. the main wing binders were way too fragile. So I had to drill into the pegs and shove a brass rod into them to add stability.
I used to suffer with loose joints too, but recently, I discovered how to use plastic cement to tighten them. Works for almost every figure that I could disassemble.
Also, the Exia Repair II has many many differences with the regular Exia: - Thighs are completely different. - Shoulders are different. - GN Sword 3 instead of 1. - Beam Saber holders are now at the waist instead of the back of the shoulder. - No cables in the shoulders, as said in the video. This version is what Setsuna uses at the final battle of 00 against the O Gundam, btw. So, it ends up a "If you like the repair 2 and want a exclusive variant go for it", the frame is amazingly good.
Not gonna lie dude I’m really glad you have this video(s) up about RG. I’m a newb and gunpla, just ordered the freedom RG and should be coming in today. I really like the RG due to size and detail, cuz MG’s are just too big for me. this really weeds out the shitty From the good kits and also showed me all the RG’s that are out there. Thanks!
Was waiting on the Phenex recommendation, and as someone who bought it I 100% agree. It is a beautiful kit, and looks great on my shelf. But it is way too expensive for what it is. I wouldn't recommend it as a buy to anyone currently, as it's cheaper to buy all the unicorn rgs and i have to handle it with gloves... despite that, i don't regret this purchase for 1 second.
Can I just tell you, ANY of the 00 Trans-Am Clear kits are a MUST BUY. No kits Bandai puts out look as beautiful as these kits and it makes sense for them to be a clear kit. The light pink/red and orange armor set against the neon green condensers and blades is just SICK. Gundam Base still has the 00 Qant FS and you will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful kit. I painted my Exia's frame metallic purple and the kit just glows sitting there BEFORE you even put a blacklight on it. Bandai made the Exia ,00 Raiser, and Qant/FS out in RG, but they also made a Clear Trans-Am 00 Raiser MG. I am planning on getting the MG because you can put 5 green LED's in it and it looks so damn nice. And that's me knowing the 00 Raiser MG isn't even the greatest kit due to age. I'm not even the biggest 00 fan either but I'm telling anyone here who wants something that stands out on their shelf, GET THEM.
I really think that your comment deserved a raise, but I am the guy who just don’t like clear parts. Everyone else should give a go based on your recommendations
Clear isnt really for me either. I like see the outside design and appreciate the ability to not put on the other half of my gundam armor to enjoy the complexity of the inner frame.
Really appreciated the effort into making this list. This will definitely help the people new or interested in getting into gunpla. Keep up the good work, mate!
I have the Astrea Type F, and it is easily the most I've spent on a single kit, next to the DEEP STRIKER! I bought it 3rd hand and actually botched 3 pieces of it! I didn't realize the side-skirt plugs were hexagonal and twisted one off, and mistakenly, hastily threw away the handles for the smaller blades (that go on the side skirt). I managed to scratch-build everything else from the runners. I will say, as a fair downside, compared to the HG, it DOES NOT have a GN Hammer! It's the only weapon that they skip out on honestly. The rest are all there, as well as parts to go between Type F and F2, and "disguise mode"
4:06 partially agree, however the shield and the iwsp backpack is 100% in black color (no color separation as shown in promoted pictures), and the joints definitely need fixing to fit to each other. Not really recommend you guys to own this, except you are able to paint
I think your reviews are legit ... you saved me a gang of money considering I was going to buy a bunch of the premium Bandai collection ... thanks man ! 🙏
Bandai's premium releases has been questionable for years, you'd expect certain kits to be released as a regular release, but instead they were put into the premium lines for no apparent reason one of the example being the HGUC Jegan D-Type
yeah look at the MG Stark Jegan too p bandai is horrible and up here in canada its super expensive hobby stores hardly get any and some for some reason aren't allowed to have em they don't explain why and we can't use the p bandai website its US only
the best option for perfect strike is pg or hgce aile strike and the old hgseed perfect strike , all the part is compatible and super cheap as hell~ and the hgce strike is fun to play pose and much solid than then rg~ plus anime accurate~ XD
Not to mention the RG Strike, at least the one I have, has a VERY loose connection at the ball joint for the head, making it impossible to pose and stick in any position without adding a thin layer of some tissue or plastic wrap around the ball joint to create a much-needed extra layer of material ensure a nice grip. It is... troublesome. Still a nice-looking figure, but buyer's remorse tends be the running theme with many early RG kits, I'm learning.
While i agree to most of your suggestions, I have to disagree with your opinion about the fin funnels though because the main reason to buy them is not for the waterslide or the stand, but it is to make the nu-gundam looks epic with them floating around. It is also important to notice that not everybody paint their gunpla. So the alternate color and the titanium finish gunplas are their only option to have the ones in that color, and yes the p-bandai and titanium finish kits are almost usually really overpriced (common knowledge), so it should not be the main issue if people want to buy those particular kits. Good video though :)
Another great video! Thanks :) Managed to get a good deal on the Astraea Type-F for around $30 on ebay, I guess the seller didn't know what they had. Love it. Big fan of the Exia/Astraea kits, and it's the best. Loads of leftover parts to customize your other Exia/Astraea kits as well.
Your video is very helpful. After watching this, I decided to bought the HG Astraea Type F and MG 00 Qan[T] Full Saber. TBH, I wish Bandai could put more effort in RG, rather than ripping off the HG and label it as P-Bandai RG
Good choice on your gunpla, Bandai won't make new molds for HG that labelled as RG as they just want to cut down the budget and earning money at the same time. It's sad that we have to deal with this.
I bought the Zaku Minelayer, Tallgeese 1 Anime Color Version ( waiting for it to arrive) and Tallgeese 2. All these suits I've wanted to have more than a decade now. I enjoyed the Tallgeese 2. I remedied the joints of the minelayer so they're not so loose. And I'm excited for the Tallgeese 1's arrival around Christmas. So, I'm scouting around for some display cases and stands. Now, having seen your review, looks like I'll wait for RG Tallgeese 3 to be reissued.
Seeing that Zaku leg falling apart like that...ouch. Think I'll stick to the HGUC Revive Zaku mold. 😳😳😳 The RG & MG Tallgeese molds are okay, but the super ancient HG Fighting Action 1/144 & the bigger HG 1/100 Tallgeese III from the late 90s have a nice thing in that they can be built as Tallgeese 1, II, or III...but you'll need to get three copies of it if you want all three...and have wicked painting skills (since the stickers probably suck).
At this point, I think it's better to buy RG post-ERGS starting from Crossbone. I actually brought an RG RX-78-2 and I regret buying it. When I went to Japan, I bought an RG Nu Gundam and I never looked back.
For RG Strike Freedom, I know the frame will be very loose because of the wings, but if you have the cash, definitely buy the MGEX because you get what you pay for, and if not, just get the old MG, it’s still good and stable despite its age
It is interesting to see how pbandai has changed. It took a MG Wing Zero ew ver ka for pbandai tallgeese flugel, but there isn't a RG flugel at all. Meanwhile they made god knows how many versions of the unicorn frame for MG and RG but MGEX is only unicorn, when a lot of people would be willing to throw $300-$400 for a pbandai mgex of Banshee and phenex. But I guess those are locked to the old unicorn mold
for the p-bandai Strike it makes sense to be able to get it as a standalone if you want to display all 3 striker packs and not have 2 aile packs kicking around
In my country, the P-Bandai expansions thing cost MUCH more than the original gundam itself, due to proxy fee and availbility. For example Wing of Light cost more than 2x the cost of RG Wing Zero itself. You can buy another 2 RGs with the same price of some effects. Same with other "expansion packs" I don't care most about most PBandai items regarding alternative color, titanium, etc. But sometimes they release something that is not elsewhere (intentionally of course). The whole P Bandai concept is rather scummy to me.

Glad I discovered your channel, you share a lot of opinions with me about p ban and rg lol. They need to be handled with care though cause like you said if you don't have the shelf or experience with that finish, don't bother buying. But otherwise very good video and very much looking your MS history line series as well, keep it up!
For 00 qant full saber, i recommend buy the MG ver, the RG one is almost twice the price of the MG version, or just buy an expansion kit from outside company
"The RG line combines the best aspects of the other three Gunpla lines: The small size and affordable prices of the High Grade, the advanced inner frame technology of the Master Grade and the massive parts count and details of the Perfect Grade. " So , for myself and maybe others with limited space or wanting small collectable units. Master grade would be way to big and take over too much space . While assembly of RG can be as long as MG the cost of MG is usually higher. I think another suggestions would be to go Metal mobile spirts as they are still small and have better quality than RG but not big or plastic like MG. Do i agree with you about zeta and strike. The pieces of RG are way too cheap and can be lost or broken. I had a blue deep striker and zeta 2 fix figuration series and I lost all the parts , never again . Now i only buy metal builds cause the quality is just high.
The x2 crossbones javelin for me was heavy and pulled the arm down. I recommend the kit still if you want to have a black version and the white one. For it was just too small for me.
10:05 it baffles me. I got my P-Bandai MG Astraea Type F AND the avalanche unit for such model costing roughly 10 USD more than the RG Astraea Type F...
Just noticed that you were in Australia and was curious to know where you buy your kits from? Do you buy them directly from Japan or some other source?
I bought it mostly from LittleRobot and eBay. Sometimes for regular kits I will consider MightyApe as well. For those PB that I can't find in local store or eBay, sometimes I will submit a sponsor request to Buyee.
TBH The Amatsu's doesn't seem too bad, but I wish they would've given the parts for the Perfect Form too since they made the Blitz Gundam's Arms and Black Versions of the Astray Legs
YI_Hou amatsu version is not that worth it IMO, only one part of the legs were new, feet were new, and they removed the weapon at the left arm and called it “new”.
I have another question about the RG Unicorn. I have heard many thing about the RG Unicorn, but how is the Perfectibility? I know it’s the banshee and the phenex, only it’s not gold plated but practically white? How is the Perfectibility (beside the price)?
Yoooo, what about the RG perfectibility? Its expensive but the unicorn mg frame doesn't seem like its a good option with all those weapons, I'm honestly considering splashing on it, what do you think?
i felt ripped off by the Amatsu (Not Mina). while it is accurate, it's still disappointing that they actually removed optional weapons. i had to buy the amatsu mina just to get ahold of some of the accessories
My zaku's right leg was so stiff i cant push it all the way in to the waist and it snapped off when i try to pull it back out, where as the left leg was so loose i can pull it out just by moving it, just by MG grade.
Additional info. Of all the rg seed kits, only the strike relies on batteries. The rest of them rely on nuclear reactors. Edit: I forgot the astray kits and impulse run on battery suits
I have OCD so asymmetrical kits is really bugs me` , and I did buy 2 RG Nu fin funnels edition , 1 to make the double fin funnels , the other one is reserved for HWS , cause p bandai is hard to get , the stand is just a regular old mg funnels stand , except the amuro base is now in red and you only get 6 arms for the fin funnels with the fin funnels set you get all 12 jet effects, and clear base~ and all your funnels can fly around
@@nirnamarubah I had the MG Blast Impulse, all the Impulse got the same frame except the backpack, MG is still really fun, solid, and great articulation/gimmicks, but the part that was incomplete is the core fighters, lots of recolor needed...
@@zethythonix I'm digging the HGs. Would want you to list the HG according to the one with the best articulation, solid and most gimmicks. Make it 3 videos. Another idea that I never see other channel did is listing HGs with separating knee armor like the RX-78-2 origin and the 00. It's definitely a feature that I looked for in buying HG because it feels like an MG
I don't agree with many things here. It all depends on if you want the P-Bandai or not... I bought a few of them and the G-3 RX-78-2 is one of my most favourites, it's just a color variant but I don't have either the skill or the time for painting an RG the way the G-3 is colored (which is simple but then again, paint). Also, joints can be fixed and early RG syndrome is not as bad as people say... unless you play with the kit everyday, which clearly RG's are not made for. If you like a kit for what it is (a P-Bandai limited release) go for it. Dont let this discourage you because there are "better" kits out there. Or maybe you don't have the space/money for the PG or MG, or those have designs that have aged like shit, so an RG may still fit your need. Also space considerations, the RG's are tiny and precious space savers
And... you keep dismissing the fact that the RG's are not only for parts but regarding what the kit/spec represents. The 00 Color Inspection is an amazingly good color scheme, and it's a nod to a specific chapter. Instead of buying an RG 00, Getting a 3rd party expansion kit, buying paint, and spending the time to paint it, you could just... get the damn kit and that's it. Now you have a limited kit that no one else does and it's a special variant, yey!
Also, RG Banshee Final Battle... Really? "Only changes the Yellow onto Green", well good luck trying to paint an orange clear frame onto clear green, on an RG best of all, that transforms.
Thanks for your disagreement, I think this video don’t suit your point of view, I stand from a point where cheap and worth comes first, maybe we have different views.
@@zethythonix I think it may all come to if you are a modeler or a collector, which are both valid points! If you are a modeler, it's most likely that your view suits better, if you are a collector, these "limited" kits hit home with me.
Yes I agree with you on some of your points. But some of the points you bring up are not true for everyone. I have had no problems with any of the strike based gundam kits
@@sailen7298 What do you expect from Bandai? They will put heart and soul into reworks? No. Of course they won't. They only want money not improvements.
At the beginning, I already mentioned that I will be skipping Gundam Base/event exclusives. So Sazabi Titanium Finish is one of them. That's why I dropped it.
I think the deactive mode is for the people who love to do the motion picture videos on gunpla, don't tell me the deactive mode is just a Gundam that the faceshift armor is deactived lol. But still don't buy it but if you want for motion picture go buy it 😂
@@zethythonix i agree, the finish looks bad. I have seen rg 00 raiser on someone's desk. Owner's gunpla handling made it worse leaving nasty nub marks, cut too much plastics in some.
I mentioned at the beginning of the video, I WON'T include Gundam Base version because they were just out of touch and too expensive. Perfectibility unicorn came with a blu-ray set that costed like 600. Why would I recommend people to spend 600 when they can go buy something else worth more and better? 600 dollars can buy at least 5-6 PB RG, so which is why I highly not recommending people to get the Perfectibility unicorn
My gripe with this video is the mentioning of MG's rather than just reviewing it objectively from an RG point of view. There are people who just don't collect MG which is why we watch this video in the first place. Prices should not influence the review, only the kit itself should. Eg: Astraea Type F may be pricey, but is it an objectively good kit compared to other RG's regardless of price? Because this is a rating video, not an is it worth it video. For a good kit, price really doesn't matter to collectors willing to spend.

But otherwise very good video and very much looking your MS history line series as well, keep it up!
Thanks for the support 🙏🏻
For 00 qant full saber, i recommend buy the MG ver, the RG one is almost twice the price of the MG version, or just buy an expansion kit from outside company
I found someone shared the same thought as I do
@@zethythonix hai
U missed the RG Wing Zero EW Pearl Coating convention exclusive. I have it and I love it
Nice review! Thanks for 2 part videos
Really good review. Thank you
:0 any chance of an updated version of these RG reviews?
Yeah, not now
Just noticed that you were in Australia and was curious to know where you buy your kits from? Do you buy them directly from Japan or some other source?
I bought it mostly from LittleRobot and eBay.
Sometimes for regular kits I will consider MightyApe as well.
For those PB that I can't find in local store or eBay, sometimes I will submit a sponsor request to Buyee.
Thanks man.I almost decided to buy the rg oo qant full saber. And I decided to buy the rg oo qant
If you want to purchase the Full Saber, get the MG. Sad but true, MG appeared to be cheaper than RG PB
But theres no rg full saber quant
@@spicymeatball3807 Yes there was, what are you talking about? I even had a review about it: th-cam.com/video/5A1K4GyxjdU/w-d-xo.html
you channel is very nice, subbed!
thanks for the review bro!
Bro you have the nose of someone in a Disney cartoon
An keep up the videos they are great they have prevented me from buying countless trash kits
I got the MG Black TriStar High Mobility Zaku ii, but I do want to get the RG version because it looks nicely detailed.
Thanks for the review
I have another question about the RG Unicorn. I have heard many thing about the RG Unicorn, but how is the Perfectibility? I know it’s the banshee and the phenex, only it’s not gold plated but practically white? How is the Perfectibility (beside the price)?
Unicorn have a great base, I haven’t build my perfect yet so I am not sure the stability
Yoooo, what about the RG perfectibility? Its expensive but the unicorn mg frame doesn't seem like its a good option with all those weapons, I'm honestly considering splashing on it, what do you think?
John Beaufort I will recommend as long as you found it at a good price
@@zethythonix haha yeah i'll try not to get ripped off
2:34. That is a high grade. It says it right on the box
I said it was the high grade... But bandai use this as an expansion set for RG Gundam MK-II

If you want a better rg gundam then get the mk-ii or the mk-ii titans version
Hehe, i buy both Perfect Strike n Strike Rouge + IWSP even i have watched this before. Now waiting for the next of EG release of this.
Thoughts on Sword Impulse (Real Grade)?
Good, way better than HGCE
i felt ripped off by the Amatsu (Not Mina). while it is accurate, it's still disappointing that they actually removed optional weapons. i had to buy the amatsu mina just to get ahold of some of the accessories
Whats your rating on the Real grade evangelion model kits?
Not a fan of EVA, my apologies
Someone didn't build their Mk 2 correctly. I've had my mk 2 for years now and it's still solid as a rock
Question, what about the Extra Finish RG Exia? What do you think about that?
Are lot of visible nubmarks... for the structure, yes it’s all good. For the appearance, hell nah
@@zethythonix oh okay, so the regular RG is better to get
My zaku's right leg was so stiff i cant push it all the way in to the waist and it snapped off when i try to pull it back out, where as the left leg was so loose i can pull it out just by moving it, just by MG grade.
Wasted for some who always look towards articulation, treasure for someone who collects and appeciate
I have a question can tightening up the joints fix the early real grade
4 hours of repairs is nuts
Additional info. Of all the rg seed kits, only the strike relies on batteries. The rest of them rely on nuclear reactors.
Edit: I forgot the astray kits and impulse run on battery suits
@@Gunpla_shrimp yeah my bad. Forgot about that
I have OCD so asymmetrical kits is really bugs me` , and I did buy 2 RG Nu fin funnels edition , 1 to make the double fin funnels , the other one is reserved for HWS , cause p bandai is hard to get , the stand is just a regular old mg funnels stand , except the amuro base is now in red and you only get 6 arms for the fin funnels
with the fin funnels set you get all 12 jet effects, and clear base~ and all your funnels can fly around
Yeah good idea.
I am also getting the HWS btw
So, would you recommend rg Sword impulse?
Mostly a yes, the new frame is good enough to persuade me to recommend people to buy it. Also, it's a HUGE improvement over the HGCE Sword Impulse.
@@zethythonix cool, I really love how rg sword impulse looks. Oh, what do you think about MG sword impulse?
@@nirnamarubah I had the MG Blast Impulse, all the Impulse got the same frame except the backpack, MG is still really fun, solid, and great articulation/gimmicks, but the part that was incomplete is the core fighters, lots of recolor needed...
@@zethythonix ah I see, thanks man for letting me know. Really helpful.

DLC for model kits is craaazy. I hate that i love gunpla.
I’d like to see u make top 10 videos for ur favorite hgs msgs and so on
That's an excellent idea! I will make one for sure.
@@zethythonix I'm digging the HGs. Would want you to list the HG according to the one with the best articulation, solid and most gimmicks. Make it 3 videos. Another idea that I never see other channel did is listing HGs with separating knee armor like the RX-78-2 origin and the 00. It's definitely a feature that I looked for in buying HG because it feels like an MG
man you love throwing gundam away and dropping them dang
Zachary Tribou not really, I am only pissed about the GP01 and Zeta, those are the only two made my violent side came out
@@zethythonix hi
Same here, hate all clear kits. Even if I got one for free, I wouldn't bother building it, but would rather sell it for money.
Hahahaha! Just LOL for what you said on 00 RG line. Hahaha!
But there is no MG Astrea Type F Relese yet Bandai made it only 1/100 and Metal Build
You can try HobbyStar or Daban if you don’t hate third parties, to be fair, their qualities are not bad.
Tbh I may just buy the RG Phenex just so I can have a 1/144 Phenex that wont die when I breath
Good choice
Yes I agree with you on some of your points. But some of the points you bring up are not true for everyone. I have had no problems with any of the strike based gundam kits
We can’t even get these retail right? They were limited release.
Ren yes
We just custom paint our hgce astray red frame
And also about the blue frame in 1/144 is that no grade as well
Hang on what I remember is there p bandi freedom gundam buy it's sword freedom gundam or that doesn't exist?
I think you remembered it wrongly?
@@zethythonix I think it's a expension pack idk but later I go to the hobby store where the kit was there and it's still alot in there.
_KenjiTX1_ I believe that you are mentioning an expansion pack for HGCE freedom, not the RG version of it

Is there a Wings of Skies for the HGCE?
Yes, but it's a PB tied with Strike Freedom (Gold coating joints) + an action base, nearly as expensive as the RG one.
@@zethythonix are there any 3rd party?
@@gudakoalter I remember there's one, I saw it a long time ago on eBay.
Didn't the Sazabi have a Titanium Finish version as well?
At the beginning, I already mentioned that I will be skipping Gundam Base/event exclusives. So Sazabi Titanium Finish is one of them. That's why I dropped it.
@@zethythonix oh! Didn't realize it was an event exclusive! No wonder the price is high heavens!

Just wondering you included HG items in this review
Those HG were expansion packs for RG, so it will consider as part of the RG line
Dat G-defenser and GN arms E are HG
But it was sold as the RG expansion pack for MK-II, so it’s listed as RG PB list

That's not weird, I just don't like them personally.
where are you buying your kits?
Everywhere, model shop, internet, private market groups...
Just get yourself a MG strike Rouge +Ootori, and MG Strike IWSP.
I think the deactive mode is for the people who love to do the motion picture videos on gunpla, don't tell me the deactive mode is just a Gundam that the faceshift armor is deactived lol. But still don't buy it but if you want for motion picture go buy it 😂
I think its for people who want to recolor to their own.

What is the point of buying p bandai trans-am and then repainting it. Just buy the regular release and pour red paint on it.
I am pointing out the finish looks bad.
@@zethythonix i agree, the finish looks bad. I have seen rg 00 raiser on someone's desk. Owner's gunpla handling made it worse leaving nasty nub marks, cut too much plastics in some.
Sazabi special coating?
And how about perfectibility unicorn?
I mentioned at the beginning of the video, I WON'T include Gundam Base version because they were just out of touch and too expensive.
Perfectibility unicorn came with a blu-ray set that costed like 600. Why would I recommend people to spend 600 when they can go buy something else worth more and better?
600 dollars can buy at least 5-6 PB RG, so which is why I highly not recommending people to get the Perfectibility unicorn
@@zethythonix They just recently announced the perfectibility RG as a gundam base release. So at least its not 600$ anymore.
@@MrFlunkorg I know that as well recently, good for people who want to purchase it
My gripe with this video is the mentioning of MG's rather than just reviewing it objectively from an RG point of view.
I have the white zeta in mg still in box lol🤣
