Used the Becker in remote places doing "survey" work in the early 90s. Still probably the best designed pack ever. Still using one in the ultra rare viet nam tiger stripe pattern for camping and bushcraft. It carries everything i need perfectly organized!
Luke I just want to say that your videos have helped me significantly as I am starting to love backpacking and survival and without your help and advice I could not do this as well as I am so I thank you for inspiring me to realize my dream.
The Becker Patrol Pack is a holy grail pack indeed. My holy grail pack was the Kifaru Zulu. I wanted that pack for the past 12 years. I found one in multicam in Europe, and a gentleman from Finland selling it on Ebay sent it to me. I love quality gear.
Those "water bottle pockets" behind the side pouches are actually not pockets. They allow gear to pass though to hold longer items like an axe handle or whatever. The smaller pockets should also have the pass through design as well depending on when the pack was made. Nice score! I have three of these packs. Two small ones and the large one. I love these packs so much I can see myself adding a few more to my collection.
I just got one in woodland, and man is it great. The perfect companion to my 130L main ruck, it's comfortable over a plate carrier and even worn on my chest as a counterbalance. If you can find one, get it asap! Totally worth any price 👍 Edit: the one I have has the hydration passage built in, tough steel grommet in the same place this one was cut
Great video. I found my Becker patrol pack on the attick last week... hardly used and still in perfect condition. It was issued to me in the late 90’s and ended up the attick probalbly I didn’t liked the black in those days. For a dayly use and camp trips I always carried the old school Alice pack. Now it’s time to use this rare pack and enjoy the comfy carry.
hi luke i messaged you by email about buying this from you, well i won one off ebay for $192 from California, that to is black and same as yurs with no waist belt, its in realy good nik. ive ownedva black blackhawk patrol pack for years and sold it but regretted selling it but im so glad now that i got that as the blackhawk is a copy of the becker and the becker has bigger pockets and the sleeves. takecare bro greetings UK
Hi Luke, enjoyed the video. It made me want to try and find one myself and as im writing this i just scored one on ebay! I got the woodland camo version. Can't wait to get it. Take care!
TheOutdoorGearReview Very interesting, thank you for sharing. I guess if it's a hard to get item in the US, then it would be very hard in Sweden. Still some upgrade features I might be able to use. :-)
That was actually Ethan's inspiration. He gave his knives to a buddy of his when he went to Vietnam, and when he came back he said the knives were nice, but she should design something useful, like an Alice pack that works. And so this pack was born.
WxGuy more like the lightweight rucksack, with more pockets & attachment points. the lightweight ruck can be seen in the movie Hamburger Hill, plus other sources. the waist belt can be set up as e&e, or fighting load, etc. could've, should've, would've. 20 years ago.
I have two large ones in woodland camo, which I bought, stuffed with bugout gear and put away. Never carried; as new. I 'm willing to sell one for $250 plus shipping. (My wife convinced me I don't need two of them!)
@Charles Vadakin Sorry Charles, I put one up on ebay and sold it for $375 in one week. I haven't put the other one up, but if someone were to make me an offer of at least that, I'd consider it. Check on ebay and you'll find a used small one in OD for $500 and it's not anywhere nearly as pristine as mine. Mine is also the larger (very rare) one.
Hey Luke I have a pack that I can not find the brand or model I was wondering if I could send you some photos to see if you can identify it all I know is its a three day assault pack

These are being made new, with the blessing of Mr. Becker himself. The Co. name is Bongo gear. Larger pouches, and PALS webbing in place of ALICE.

I bought mine in the late 90's and it is still going strong. If I was forced to only own one pack, this would be it.
Recently, I picked up a blackhawk version for $75.00, I also have the new Bongo Gear version, and they carry very comfortably!

Probably a long shot, considering this was 2 years ago, but you wanna sell it?
Excellent pack amongst a sea of laser cut molle look a likes, this pack has strenght and a bit of character 👍🏻
the hydro tubing cuts are not a mod it. Every single one that I have seen have those from the factory.
A great looking pack. I was unaware that Becker made packs. Thanks for the heads up. Take care. atb Opal
Looks like a great bag I'm a big fan of the Alice

It was a great pack.. I traded mine years ago and should have kept it...

Sweet pack, lots of organization :)
Always wanted it in woodland camo !
Looks like a modern version of the Alice pack.

BTW, those pockets are on the bottom, where all external pockets should be if they're going to carry weight.
Tried many times to Aquire this pack. Being in Australia, I have more chance of it snowing on Uluru.

@@garrypetty16 Hi Garry, I still have the second one, which I didn't put up for sale. I'd need $450 to part with it.
@@DouglasJAllan sold! Let me know how to contact you.

Dude, I think you may be pack obsessed.

AYNSLEY STOREY I tell you what, if I decide to sell it I will let you know.

I wish Eagle stuff was easier to find. People gouge way too much on their stuff.
I have a large becker in OD green that I'd like to trade for the small version. If any interest respond to this thread and we can go from there.
Love the pack, but toooooooooo pricey!
if u want to sell the belt, i will buy off u ?
just seen a variant on ebay $399
AYNSLEY STOREY I've seen that one too...wow they are expensive!

Life time warranty until they sold the company.
+lbjlbj1 Has it been sold? Who bought it?
- Luke
Doesn't look like a very good pack to me for $300.
6 lbs? $300? Sounds terrible for what it is.
