    Good evening, I was not able to watch the live so thank you very much for the access to the recording. I have a few questions please:
    1. Do we no longer display an alphabet, or sing the alohabet?
    2. Would we start on any writing during the first days, or weeks of school? For example, "writing" a sentence about your first day of school?

      HI Silvia, Some teachers still choose to display an alphabet song and singing is great! I definitely encourage you to begin writing with your students, Writing helps to solidify those phoneme-grapheme correspondences.

    Good day. I'm watching the videos first before fully diving in to the file where it's so full of information. I noticed in the first video and this one, it's vowels ... I'm wondering if you start with consonants or vowels first? Thank you

      Hi Nicole, I highly recommend following the pacing of your foundational skills program if you have one! If you don't have a program here is a blog post with ideas, & a research-based downloadable scope and sequence. I hope it helps!

    Do the vowel valley and consonant sound wall each take up a seperate 8 ft by 4 ft bulletin board or can you fit both on one 8 ft by 4 ft bulletin board?

    • @christinawinter
      @christinawinter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jenae, They would be on two 4x8 bulletin boards. They are pretty big! I know a lot of people don't have that kind of walls pace so you can use the smaller sound cards or change the settings in your printer to print them smaller and create a smaller bulletin board or create a trifold poster board that you can move to the different areas of the room as you are teaching or hang at student level.
      You can also print the personal student sound walls and make sound wall folders that students can keep at their desks and interact with during your teaching, writing, and reading.
      Finally, I've shared some ideas in this blog post: mrswintersbliss.com/how-to-set-up-a-sound-wall-in-your-classroom/
      Hope this helps!

    Hi! Thank you so much. When you lock a portion of the sound wall (ie: starting in kindergarten) are you locking the entire component including the mouth picture, picture link, and sound, or only the graphemes not taught yet? So for example, we would not explicitly teach diphthongs, but would you continue to display the /oi/ and mouth photo for the year, or just not have it displayed at all? Thanks!
