      (1) I would like to see "economic shifts" in the world - a few years ago China decided that they are putting a lot of money into football. now Saudi Arabia and Qatar are doing this.
but as we all know China stopped and since the world cup Qatar cut it drastically.
why not add the option of England deciding to cut down football expenses and thusly the Prem becomes a little harsher on the dime?
Maybe Norway (technically speaking - one of, if not the richest country in the world) deciding to invest rapidly in football? or Armenia finding a giant goldmine and investing in everything including football.
      (2) maybe less appealing but - what about political shifts? not talking about implementing bans for countries but for example France reforming their foreigners rule to include only French players. or Montenegro joining the EU while the Dutch decide to do a "Ditch" and leave.
i think these 2 options could make the game much more dynamic in many senses :)

Most clubs in top leagues have head coaches rather than managers, the AI for Directors of Football is not good enough and there needs to be a way of playing where you just won't be buying the players, you will have meetings with the DOF at regular intervals where positions, tactics and players required to fit the clubs model. I just think this adds a more realistic way of playing the game.

Things i would like to see changed:
-Don't make facilities go up just one level, if you start managing a small team with a 7 academy for example(out of 20), you will invest millions to just make it go level 8. Just to upgrade it again the next season, make it possible to teams that have a lot of money to skip steps and go into bigger tiers faster.
-Make the press conferences usefull, it's just boring nonsense with no actual goal now.
-Make the game generate less good players (after a few seasons you will see a lot of 190+ potential regens)
-Make the firing of managers more realistic. Like for example Pep got sacked because he got second with Man City or a manager who gets fired mid season for being in 10th place in serie B, while they had only 6 points behind a top 3 and were missing 2 matches.
-Make the AI stop loaning talents just to put in there youth academy. If you offer young players for loan (with a lot of talent), you see teams trying to loan them while they will never play them.

I think the most significant feature SI could add to this game is the implementation of an AI software that functions similarly to a ChatGPT. Rather than the RNG based system they use in board requests and interactions with players, other clubs, etc, a program that could react to unique aspects of your save to generate responses would completely change the game. I don’t know how this would work because my interaction with these softwares is minimal and surface level, but if it’s possible it would make every single save completely unique. You would even be able to type your own responses in these interactions, rather than click on the prewritten responses that lead to a conversation that feels somewhat predetermined. This would make this aspect of the game more skill based as well.

FM's big Achilles I found was lack of backstory for your character. Yes, it allowed you to set yourself up as an ex-player but it didn't allow you to set who you used to play for or even if you'd had coaching roles with other teams previously. Surely that would be doable because realistically, it would have an effect on your career.

When a player complains he hasn't started often enough there are never the option of telling him why he hasn't actually played. There should be a drop down menu or something where I can choose topic, e.g "tired" or "not match fit", then replies could be created based on that. 1) AI for Senior Staff (like Technical Director, DOF & Loan Manager) needs a big improvement. Their decisions (even with top attributes) are always really strange.
    2) Player interaction options need to be largely the same for the same type of conversation (e.g. I speak to a player who is unhappy with his playing time and i have some decent chat options to explain why but being decent with him but, the next player i speak to about playing time, i have different options and they are all quite harsh which annoys the player!)
    3) When listing a player for loan (especially youth players), we need more detail on the level of club (both the division they play in and their facilities) that we set for the Loan manager. Most of the time, i do it myself as the Loan Manager tends to send them somewhere unsuitable, or with no realistic playing time agreement - pointless having a Loan Manager TBH!

    • @bmcdonagh1

  • @davyprendergast82

The absolute number 1 thing the new game needs is for all conversations with players, board, media etc to be completely original using GPT generative AIs. This should be really easy to add. All the interaction aspects of the game currently are predictable, laborious, repetitive and annoying, because they're so limited.

I don't think it should all be uniquely generated. This would cause a while lot of issues with nonsensical questions/answers and them being not interpreted in the way you read them. It's actually very difficult to get it working consistently.
I'd much prefer just generating a few thousand variations of existing interactions and maybe using AI to come up with some more unique/new types of questions. But these should be generated beforehand, and implemented permanently.

As long as I can storm out of the press conference and tell them to stop wasting my time and then the next game starts I'm all good. I want infinite possibilities in interactions and it's all here. I mean, sure, each character could be programmed to respond within given parameters, by that I mean they will know they are journalists / football players / whatever they are, so they won't talk like Gandalf or something. First thing is something simple. A way t distinguish players I have put on my Not Interested List. Just make the players name darker or something just to distinguish them in my scouted players list.
A tutorial would be cool for newcomers. I have thought about how to do this and a simple mode where the newcomer is put in charge of a team in a 4 team round-robin league that guides you through the basics of the game, transfers, contracts, matchday options. Things like that.
I have not seen this in the game, and I may have just missed it or not seen it, but an option when setting up to have the weather affect whether a game is played or not. Postponements of games to add the realism of fixture crunch could add a little extra spice to that end of season run-in. Though I could see this being a pain to implement.
Something I have thought about, but doubt it would be liked, is splitting up the facilities request into smaller chunks. Instead of trying to request a huge facility overhaul you could request for improved individual facilities like improving pitches for overall training, improving gymnasiums to improve strength training, improving classrooms to improve tactical knowledge. Though mostly to make it affordable when doing lower league club saves. You could also do it for the stadium. Asking to install undersoil heating (which could tie in with postponements), install new floodlights, or new press conference facilites to improve rapport for those that still do press conferences (if any). This is one that I highly doubt would be implemented ever, but it would be a neat addition to have more interactivity with the board.

What i'd love in the next FM would be to be able to have talks with the players before the transfer, you know, not the kind you have in EAFC, but discussion to try and convince the player to join your side when there are other clubs interested in said player, or try to discuss about the clubs objective to convince him... because i love the fact that you can interact with the agent to try and get info on what the player would love but it"s purely financial and not really focused on the player, his needs, objectives, the way he'll interact with the other players and his objectives on a personal level.
Something that would make it really important to have a good relationship with the player of your team but also with those that aren't, and that would have influence when you praise a player you're keeping an eye on.

Something I've been wishing for for a long time is a mode where you actually have to earn your coaching badges (I guess this ties into your ability to manage youth teams). This could work alongside the classic manager mode or as a new way to create stories. Each coaching badge has a set of challenges you need to fulfill something like the driving tests in Gran Turismo, the challenges getting progressively tougher the higher the coaching level. I guess this would be a great way to introduce new players to the game as well, a kind of tutorial if you will or, at the very least, a way to spend some of that money you negotiate for contracts.

Improved New gen faces is a must for me, it's the most immersion breaking part of the game. Just building in a newGen kind of generator would be massive, and if it would also age those player faces as their career goes on would be the cherry on top. Just seeing your players grow up with their skills and faces would add so much.

No, not every FM player will agree you need a skin, I have never used one and never will, well unless they totally mess up the new interface and I need to get it back to the more spreadsheet look it has just now. It’s that look and design that has kept me playing this game every year for nearly 3 decades, it would be a real shame if they alienated their actual core fanbase just to chase pounds from casual gamers.

When setting up at the beginning, it would be great to put your entire career behind you. Not just your age or whether you were a national player. But also where you started your football career, where you moved to and how many goals you scored there. So you could start as a coach at a club where you were previously loved or perhaps hated as a player.

I think top of my wishlist are (a) I would like to see is that managers of other clubs have a greater impact on their teams. In my current save, Klopp is at Real Madrid but I just noticed by chance. There is absolutely nothing about Real Madrid that is different under Klopp compared to Ancelotti, as far as I can tell. I think this is crazy for a game that is called 'Football Manager' and (b) I want a more streamlined experience of management without feeling like I sell out. I simply do not have the time to plow through all these emails and fringe players asking for new contracts. I would like there to be more experimental game setups like being a DoF or similar, ie being able to create interesting scenarios, like taking over a depleted Man Utd in League 1 in 2027 or implementing a one-nation policy at any club I want in the game set up etc.

The main thing I want is more personality for newgens. Working social media, players posting generated pics, tweets, etc. would be amazing. Everyone having their own social media profile that gets filled with content would add so much more to the players than just stats, another way to connect with them. I think that would be great especially with the use of AI, but as the technology is pretty new that's probably still a few years away, even if they actually wanted to do that.
Other things I'd like to see to give more personality to newgens are full character models that you can view on their pages, not just faces. This could include individual clothing based on personality etc.

U19 Managing would be nice to see as well as you can potentially go from U19 to B Team to the main team. I’d like club structures to be more realistic. If you start out at Chelsea for example it’s not very realistic to have full control of the transfers from season 1.
It be good if that initial contract said you’d to work within the structure and then as you grow your reputation you get the chance to work outside of it and earn full control. I get that wouldn’t be ideal for everyone, but it would be good if there was a setting to apply that at the start of the save. One of the few ways you could adjust difficulty

My minor one is making sponsors mean something, even if they're fictionalised.
I.e. much better sponsor uplifts/renegotiations/payment clauses so you can genuinely grow the club.
Then, also, for non-licensed teams, kit manufacturers offering you deals, with different design philosophies etc and they generate kits for you to approve each season, and show marketing trends/sales growth etc.
Then, most importantly, getting asked before each match which kit you want to wear as the away side, so you can avoid in-game clashes just because the text doesn't clash, but also generate sales boosts with historic wins in certain kits

  • @BubbaSvensson

I really hope they can change so it's more realistic when you let player transfer get handled by your other staff roles. Because sometimes you want to just play as a manager and work with the team you have and not have to think about transfers. There should be a realistic game mode and the sandbox game mode we have at the moment for example I shouldn't be able to beat Real Madrid as Aberdeen (my team) and win the champions league after 5 years but that's the way it is sadly but also if people want to play like that no problem I would much rather spending 5-10 years trying to win my domestic trophy which even then isn't that realistic in the grand scheme of things
Tactics and tactical familiarity need changed in my opinion for example if I want to play 2 formations with different roles and different positions if the player isn't training that role or that position and gets played there his tactical familiarity is low in that position why not just make it so once they've learnt that role and position its stuck with them and they fully understand it and learn a new role/position and perform in multiple roles/positions this way you aren't playing the same stagnant formation and would be more dynamic tactically in your approach to different opponents
Scouting in the game is so lazy it costs 30k a month to scout the entire world which is daft would be way better if they developed scouting and made it far more competitive some teams in the world have academies in other countries too that would be a nice venue to explore maybe have it so you can develop your own youth academy's in other countries with coach's hired by you in them
and scouting areas being competitive for example you really shouldn't be getting the best wonderkids in the world as a low league team maybe once in a blue moon teams get lucky like this Aberdeen signing Bojan Mivoski would be an example of this and we've never had this in our entire history of the club
Finances in the game are terrible too there should be harder negotiations to sign players for example if I'm a big club of course the player will want higher wages but if I'm a smaller club signing a player coming from a big club he should be willing to cut his wages if he wants to be a 1st team regular there should also be more contract clauses for players wanting to progress in their careers and there should be harder negotiations to sign players and teams wanting a % of the next player sale

The other thing that I am running into in a Journyman where I am at Dortmund is that I stay within my budgets, am still in the Champions League and top of the Bundesliga and the board in December came to me and said due to worse than expected financial performance they were slashing my budgets. I don't think they should do exactly that, it's gimmicky to have you actually buying things but there should be some kind of economy in the game. So for example let's say you start unemployed and you apply for a bunch of jobs, when you get your contract offer it would give you a cost to live figure. This would be based on the country and the level of club (as the bigger the club the higher standard of living you would expect to keep, for example a non-league manager might live in a small flat but a PL manager would be expected to love in a mansion). Then you have something to judge the offers on, you might get more money in the conference south but the wage being offered might be taken up by your cost of living or even be less than the cost of living so taking £30 a week to manager a club in India where it costs £1 a week to live might make more sense. And if the difference is big enough you could be allowed to fund your own coaching courses, the club can still block it based on time but they couldn't on finances if you are paying. It would just add a bit more immersion and realism without going to gimmicky

Bit weird of a weird request but some music would be nice in the game, through the menus. Also a vocal cinematic press conference and team talks similar to fifa. I think the match engine could be smoother with better animations but I don't mind classic two dots either. It would be nice to know exactly which role would do what and what roles compliment each other. An easier description of the data hub. It would be nice to have more realistic animations with scanning etc. Same with crowds. With regard to new gens, I'd rather have a blacked out face image in the menus but a nice animation.
I understand the above are not the key elements of the game, as I too am a fan of the database etc.

    3. Upgrading your facilities should be a bit easier, when your club has all the money in the world. Even If your club has over a billion in the bank, they might refuse to upgrade youth facilities or youth coaching in this years game.
My board although tell me, that they don't want to improve youth coaching, because I have so many young players already, while upgrading youth recruitment is No Problem...
    4. The club reputation system might need an upgrade. I think the competitions and the league your club is playing in should have a bigger Impact. I think players should prefere to play in a higher league or in the continental club competitions, than to play for club with a higher reputation, who plays in a lover league.

Women's football isn't becoming more popular. It's becoming more forced down your throat.
Point 4 - haven't found a "lover league" yet. Where can I take part?

Hello. I propose the inclusion of cautions and ejections during the match for the coach who complains too much or comes out of the technical area and the consequent overheating of the match atmosphere. I suggest inserting goalkeeper fouls into the match so as to cause penalties in the box, hand fouls outside the box resulting in cautions or expulsions. I propose to include injuries even during rehabilitation or rest day (obviously this should happen very rarely) such as virus, cold, flu for example.
I would also suggest the fact that footballers rarely miss taking corner kicks (the ball does not go in after taking it). I propose to include the punitive withdrawal decided by the football club if the team does badly and gets bad results over a certain period of time. I propose the following feature in the game: give a yellow card to the player who takes off his shirt after scoring a goal

I´d love to have a semi-automatic option for some features, especially for something you have to do for every single player in your squad. Don´t get me wrong. I love that FM is so complex but sometimes you just want to play a season or a tournament faster. Lets be honest: Some procedures are just exhausting click-work. So a semi-automatic alternative for this time-consuming click tasks would be great.
Or as an alternative a kind of "FM light" for the PC version. I don´t like playing on the smartphone.

They should implement NEWGAN to the actual FM. I believe.

Things that as far as i know are not announced.
1- As you said, all menus have to be redone. It's a must to use a skin and the base skin is useless.
2-Redone all advanced stats. Stats are very important in football and stats per90 min more. It's needed a complete rebuild. Also stats should not disappear between seasons.
3-See the develop of staff the same as with players.

If FM25 is anything like the last games I will not be buying it, it needs a total revamp its like I've been playing the same game for the last 10-15 years...

deffinetly the whole graphics aspect of the game can be improved... Newgens faces, 3d match, look of the game... but these things are visuals. I've been playing since 93 and my main issue is that at some point there is always some weird unrealistic tactic that bugs the game and makes you score goals like crazy... and on the other side the defensive park the bus tactics seem a lot less effective. we have just seen Real Madrid win the champions league by being very solid and compact... this should be a possibility in the game...
I've seen teams win with basically 1-2 midfielders and just packing a team full of strikers, reminds me too much of CM93 where you would overload the attack and win... make defending more effective

I am not sure the Unity game engine was the right choice, but a non-interactive game today can be photorealistic. Apart from graphics, my requests would be: less woodwork, remove that stupid offside action when a player passes back to the corner taker and stop that idiotic constant request for new contracts with a random answer that make it null

one thing i would like to see is when you post a job advert it builds up would like if you can remove ones that dont meet the cut instead it just builds up which is annoying not the top of my list tho i agree transfers AI not great needs more tweaking still getting some low ball offers also would like to see a section with relationships with other clubs like in real life good connections can help in future deals same as bad ones would be cool to see may go re play it and might see other stuff i would like to see

All i’d want would be to take control of a real manager, this would help so much with immersion.
    Then graphics upgrade.
A little small tweak to AI

    • Injuries overhaul
The current system just isn’t realistic.
You should have situations where players are carrying knocks / niggles that need to be managed game to game and over training sessions.
    • Fatigue matters
Having a team dead on their feet at the end of a game should matter - and seen to be the case in the match engine.
    • Power to setup in game tactical scenarios
You should be able to setup priorities / mentalities for stages of the game.
You may want to keep it tight for the first 15.
Maybe you want to start the half fast in order to catch the opposition cold?

How are stadiums treated in the game? I’d like to see more variety as far as they’re concerned. Nothing major, but more and better.

Major commercial and financial overhaul. Actually be able to set prices for food tix ect. Instead of generally upgrading the ground overall it should be in sections (field, stands, locker rooms, stores)

New stadium designer. Would love input into what can be done at X cost and you mold it to that X dollar figure. Those inputs impact your revenue. Would love to min/max new revenue, especially for legacy runs. This goes hand-in-hand with training/youth facilities. The current system sucks, you ask and have no idea the impact to your budget or the value it would bring. In par with the new stadium idea, spend X and min/max it without breaking the bank. I'd also like a pay off existing loans when more cash comes in i.e. player sale(s). Would love way more input into all finances so I can see the impact instead of some end of year email with an arbitrary figure amount for transfer and wages.

First i would like to hear from SI if we even still using the Unity after the all crap that they did.
now that I said that, what I really want to see in the new one, beside the obvious like match engine and faces etc.
is the ability to actual have a meaning in your job, make money, get a place, save money etc..
maybe you got to the point where you have millions of dollars and you want to actually buy a team from the lower leagues and be a owner/manager get them up with the option since you the owner figure out how to actually build the stadium up, work on a new training grounds, have decision about the new uniforms for the season etc. all the stuff that owners do beside just say yes build a new stadium and have no actual input on it. i want more indept about the club itself.
or maybe even instead of buying a lower club, spend money and make your own club and start at the lowest possible tier and go from there.
    there are so many options.
also another thing I would love to have would be the ability to have multiple option for year start, I don't want to go and play fm 22 again if I want to start at that year. they already have the data for previous years, why not have the option to start in this year or one of the previous years?

Dynamic potential! If you have a good tactic and insert a decent young player with a low ceiling, have that player increase their PA dynamically if they play very well consistently, even though he wasn't viewed as a high ceiling player to begin with (think of a player like Quansah, for example)! Recruitment centers accross the world. FFS, make your organizational culture matter when you develop players and recruit.
