They're a band made up of three brothers. Remington, the singer, wrote the song and directed the video. He wears makeup because as a child his dad abused him and he thought if he looked like someone else then he'd become someone else. The whole song and video is about his childhood.
@@LivingwithPerks a lot of their songs hint at their dad when you pay attention. The words 'I'm looking for you out there' in you'll be fine, and 'I can't take it, all these memories,' in death dance. They're a really interesting and genuine band and I really recommend looking them up on social media. They're the nicest and most selfless guys you'll ever see.
@@tessaknowles1223 and in 'get higher' the very first words "i woke up to the sound of a man who's always been, but never been around" could be linked to the dad... just my thoughts though i'm not sure
@@tessaknowles1223 did they not grow up together or was Remi just targeted? I just recently found out that he was abused and it breaks my heart that someone so awesome and hilarious had such a horrible childhood.
“This song and video is extremely personal to me. As a child I was physically and mentally abused. Which caused me to become extremely depressed and suicidal. I always thought that I was the problem, that I must of done something so wrong to deserve that type of abuse from a person who was supposed to love me and didn’t see any other way out. It’s the reason I started wearing makeup because I thought if I looked like a different person ,I would become a different person. A person that stands up for themselves. I somehow made it out alive and so grateful everyday that I did. If you or anyone else that you know is going through something similar please make a stand or be a friend because you could save a life.” - Remington Leith
Palaye Royale just released an album called The Bastards today, and this song is in it. The rest of the songs in the album also talk about important topics. Some of the titles are Massacre, The New American Dream, Anxiety, Masochist, and Redeemer
It’s incredible seeing the reaction of a dad . I love them so much because they are extremely genuine especially when it comes to lyrics . I was wondering if you could do a reaction to “high definition “ by waterparks? I would also recommend “We don’t have to dance “ by Andy Black if you like Palaye Royale! Have a good day !
Or Turbulent. Or not warriors. those are other good waterparks songs to listen to. Some other good Palaye to listen to would probably be massacre the new american dream or dying in a hot tub. I'd also say to listen to YUNGBLUD but idk if theyve done that already.
He was on his roof as a symbolic representation of what it was like to be on drugs, it also is him leaving his body because u can see a huuge pile of pills on the table that he looks at while on the ceiling. Also, he digs his own grave in the video because it was meamt to mean like, he is slowly dying and digging his own grave with drugs and depression and he knew it but can't seem to stop as they were his only escape, he wanted to live but was also suicidal, his parents were standing at his grave pretty much telling u that his parents never noticed him slowly killing himself both literally and figuratively. Parents say that some people go through the same and that they are exaggerating but everyone has a different breaking point and are different.

You should try Poppy (I disagree, Bloodmoney, sit stay) she's so fascinating.

It totally makes sense... the video is a extremely good representation of that and I know other people have gone through the same.
