Sorry to be that guy but this ain't weirdcore (I get that you were probably joking). A good example of weirdcore would be something like もぺもぺ. :) Edit: btw you should be able to get the video I'm talking about by searching for "mo pemope".
I love genres that tend to use changing and weird time signatures, like Math Rock or IDM. Hits some deep hidden dopamine receptor in the recesses of my slowly smoothing and aging brain.
fun fact there's a song which is 9 minutes long and has around 250 time signature and 200 bpm changes (there's officially a 0/0 and a -3/4 time signature as well ._.) song is konran shoujo soflan chan by camellia and nanahira if you're wondering (not on spotify)
you know what would be a cool challenge: you listen to a song 1-3 times (depending on how difficult you want it), then you try to recreate it as best as you can without being able to listen to it again would be fun to watch!
the hack for weird time signatures is just breaking up the pulse into smaller more manageable ones, I have a song I made where the pulse is essentially *7/4 6/4 7/4 8/4 - repeat* but it still feels surprisingly followable, it’s just very fluid and has different melodies overlapping across time signatures
@@bengtnowak8702 I probably made it sound a lot cooler than it is😭 it’s just a tiny demo right now and needs actual live drums instead of the preset ableton kit I used to get the idea down, but I just put it up on my channel
a way easier way to write wacky time signatures (for me at least) is to write in compound time, so like breaking it down into smaller bits. been writing a song in 13/4 for a little bit and I basically broke it down into a measure of 5/4, then two of 4/4 (obviously there's other ways to break it down that's were the fun part is). basically makes it feel like you have an extra beat every three bars
I dont think 6/16 counts as odd time signature... Its literally just 6/4 or 3/4 but with a different context... And thats literally the second most used time signature there is :/ Edit: false alarm it was changed haha
I'm always impressed at how quickly you put things together. Is there any chance you could do a run down of your project file's routing and setup in a future vid?
Damn we getting progressive up in here, we pushing the envelope with this one.. It's like PilotRedSun but even more freakier, as well as blank banshee.
i have to admit that it's kinda depressing that you're able to produce a waaay better track in such a weird time signature than me in 4/4 but great job love your vids keep it up
Look up the song “feller from fortune”. I sang it in high school choir and it changes time signature 70+ times with like 12 different signatures allllll like these. Nearly broke me
Lovepatch made a nice song but it's 4/4 he just cut the final bar. Billbosh was a banger had me turn up the song on my boombox to hear it again. Unfair one, do better twchat
Odd time signatures are very interesting. You should do more. 4/4 has gotten bland for me, and 3/4, though interesting, is kind of going there for me as well.
Doing a small number/16 is basically a cheat code because you can just make it feel like tuplets lol
6/16 is basically just triplets. glad he switched to something else

you should upload your bishbattle tracks somewhere, like a separate soundcloud or something, they go too hard to be buried in a 26 minute video
Agreed

check out Story 2 by Clipping, its a masterclass in evolving time signatures

Wtf is -3/4?
I'm so intrigued.
Time signatures like 7/16 become a lot easier if you think of it as a measure of 3/16 + a measure of 4/16
breaking it into 3s and 2s is always the plan
def make a second sc or yt channel n upload all the songs u create during these it would unironically pull u a neat bag
also for ur fake genre songs

100% agree. I'm a guitarist and that's usually the easiest way to break down songs with goofy timing for a solo or something
i legitimately need this song on spotify
Bishu’s 7/16 track is so fire. Should be on your album.
Man, this new King Gizzard album is weird
Theres a song called Lit Fuse by Cacola that is in 5/4 and sounds amazing

7/16 goes hard man

3/4 + 4/4 is a compound metric it's equal to 7. And a metric ending with /7 is impossible.
