The main difference is actually the reverse light location. On the 08-10 they had one light in the bumper, where 11+ had reverse bulbs in each tail light. They ARE swappable, but it's not simple plug and play.
Do you remember what size the turn signal and reverse light bulbs are? I bought a black version of these lights from Japan and I want order the LEDs while I want for the lights to arrive. I have a 2009 xB so I'm going to have to do some extra wiring to make it work but it won't be impossible.
The bulb is a 7440. Interestingly, the JDM and USDM actual lights are the same (I just didn't realize at the time), but the socket it goes into is different, so hopefully yours come with a wiring harness. Here's a link to the exact turn signals I'm using: amzn.to/48zDmpb (full disclosure: I'm an Amazon affiliate so I receive a commission on qualifying purchases) I would love to see those lights! Do you know if they are the same as the ones that came on the Rukus? (The Australian version of the xB)...if so, great score!
@@DaBadNewz Both the turn signal and reverse bulbs are 7440? Interesting, thanks! Yes, it is the same as the Rukus tail lights. There are red, clear, and black versions of the tail lights. I bought the black and it had the bulbs and wire harness in the photos. I am planning to cut the connectors from my old lights and wire it to the new lights. I'll also have to run some wires from the one lower reverse light up to the new lights.
That sounds like a fun lil project! But the reverse lights are actually 912/921/T15/922/W16W I use these: amzn.to/3S5Cx0m And that's really cool! The Rukus had some nice looking lights. (Funny how the Rukus and Rumion had basically the same lights with different colors, and the xB was completely different).
@@DaBadNewz Okay thanks! It seems like the rumion and Rukus got a lot of cool things we didn't get, but actually I've seen rumions with xb lights and other parts on them, and even usdm scions in Japan.
I've seen that too! It seems like no matter what people get, they want the one they didn't lol. But yea in my experience, the JDM versions are always nicer and have better accessories...the awd Rumion?? cmon! That would have been so dope!
Usually for the xB tail lights the reflector housing is like our high beam reflector. Switch to led with sylvania zevo 7443R works wonders. But since the JDM version rumion tail lights has a 360 reflector style. I love those. I would switch to something that’s also a 360 led bulbs. Lasfit, auxito, or maybe the 2 sides zevo led that shoots backwards can still work. I need those tail lights. Because as u say. They are u common and I agree. 😍❤️🔥 Also why not try to look at ur incandescent bulbs, there’s a text on the bulb and see what size is it? Ours (before u change them) has 7443 brake light, 7440 turn signals, and T15/921 reverse light Check the incandescent bulbs on the new rumion tail lights and see what size is it.
Yea that was the idea, once I went back to the junkyard for the proper wiring harness I was just gonna use those bulbs to order LED replacements. Just haven’t got around to it lol
What about like 08 XB where they have only single reverse light that is on lower bumper driver side. Can you swap the lights still or will it not work?
You can swap em, but it's a bit more involved. You have to tap into the reverse light in the bumper and wire up the reverse lights into the housing on your own. I'm not 100% the bumper lines are the same, so I think you may also need the back bumper, but Idk about that for sure. I know people have done that exact swap before.
@@DaBadNewz Wouldnt you just be able to leave the reverse light just as it is and just dont connect the Rumion reverse lights and just tape them up out of the way. Was just wondering if the actual housing will fit. I read before there was a gap between the lower part of light and bumper, but never actually seen a picture or anything of it from a lower angle. Would the other lights like brake light and normal driving red and signal lights function the same?
Oh yea if you didn’t mind the reverse lights not working, then yea I think the housing would fit, but I can’t confirm 100% I feel like I’ve heard people say that about the bumper line though. I think most people who do the swap do lights and the bumper. Somebody was just recently in my comments about the swap, lmk look and see if I can find the info
@@DaBadNewz Thanks I appreciate the link. It looks like they have the 2008/2009 bumper too. I wonder if any other wiring was involved. You still have your XB?
Can’t believe I left that out! I don’t exactly remember, but the junkyard website has them at $39 each, which sounds about right. Call it $90 for the pair after taxes + entrance to the junkyard. Not bad in my book!
Man keep that xB content coming just picked up my 3rd one a 2013 👍
Nice! And most definitely! I’m working on a video for my new door speakers right now
Nice bro! Liking the change! Solid content as usual. Underrated!
Thanks man! I wasn’t sure at first but stuck with em just for exclusivity, but they grew on me for sure.
And big thanks man!
I care about rare Scion xB parts, thats a nice score!
We’re the few appreciators of this fine toaster on wheels lol. Thanks man!
They look Dope Bro can’t wait to get my hands on a pair🔥💪🏽 Thanks for the vid Blessings Bro!
Thanks man! Keep your eyes out on them junkyards, you never know what might pop up! Either way, hope you find em.
Is there any difference between tail lights for 08-10 scion xb and up except for design?

@toyotabrony yea it was just like the US version, except it had the different connectors on 2 of the lights

@toyotabrony exactly

check out this clip, has the JDM lights and looks like no gap, but not 100% sure on the year of those tails.
