Like others have said, the Chattahoochee is a river in GA that runs from northeast to southwest. It runs through parts of metro Atlanta which is why I'm surprised to learn people haven't heard of it. If someone from Atlanta says something like "Let's go shoot the 'Hootch", they mean raft down the Chattahoochee. It's popular on the weekends in the summer.

Alan was actually from Georgia. The Chattahoochie is a river. You guys are too young to know this but back in the day the traveling carnivals and shows had dancing girls who were like low cost versions of the burlesque dancers. They had skimpy outfits and danced. They were called hoochie coochie girls. Since then people have given new meanings to the words hoochie and coochie. He is on a wake board or single water ski. What he talks about is dropping her off and then meeting up with the guys down by the river and drinking some beers (pyramid of cans). Innocent fun guys!

The Chattahoochee River forms the southern half of the Alabama and Georgia border, as well as a portion of the Florida - Georgia border. It is a tributary of the Apalachicola River, a relatively short river formed by the confluence of the Chattahoochee and Flint rivers and emptying from Florida into Apalachicola Bay in the Gulf of Mexico. The Chattahoochee River is about 430 miles (690 km) long.[3] The Chattahoochee, Flint, and Apalachicola rivers together make up the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin (ACF River Basin).[3] The Chattahoochee makes up the largest part of the ACF's drainage basin.

He’s water skiing. Skied all my life. It’s a load of fun and a good workout! We used to see who could get the biggest spray of water when we went from side to side behind our boat. Love the song too!

He struck out so he met the boys on the riverbank and drank a few beers. I been there a few times myself. God bless y’all. This reminded me of my HS days. Except we hung out on the Cumberland river.

Alan is from Newnan, Georgia just across from the Alabama line near Auburn and Opelika like his song Drive. He put on one of the largest water concerts of all time in Lake Martin, Alabama back in 2009.

The Chattahoochee is a river that partially forms the border between Georgia and Alabama. My best friend lives in Columbus, GA, very near the Chattahoochee.
