I recognize some of Abbie's signs! Popcorn, pretzel, candy, bathroom, car, go, swing, music, thank you, bed, goodbye/hi, come here, golf cart, Goldfish, open, break, and cookie!

My son has pulmonary hypertension and sees a specialist at the Heart Institute at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He went to Camp Joy in Clarksville, Ohio for the first time this year during Heart Institute week. I used the ziplock bags for all of his clothes and toiletries. I also made sure to put his initials on everything. He loved his first year of camp. He also loves watching your videos with me.

My daughter Hailey is 11 and she hors to a special needs day camp, they go on trips every day, an indoor water park, a fun plex We Rock The Spectrum, bowling, and on Fridays they help the local theater kids group with their play and put on a separate show for the campers families. She loves going. Thinking of maybe an over night camp next year. Will have to search around our area, we are in NJ, for next summer. Your vhannel is awesome and I always look forward to your pists and vlogs!!

I’m in my 30s and went to sleep away camp a lot growing up and my mom would pack my full outfits in plastic bags and usually put a card or maybe a surprise like a bracelet hidden in the middle.

Hi and goodbye, bathroom, bath, eat, drink, candy, pretzel, cookies, goldfish, popcorn, cereal, music, break, sleep, swing, open, thank you, go, car ride, golf cart, come here, help, one or one minute (more used from Brendee but Abbie knows it)

    Her signs that I know:
All done- she pats her thigh or other part of her body.
    Hello- waves
Goodbye- waves :p (for closing out the vlog of course)
    Candy- index finger on cheek
Toilet/bathroom- t in sign and turning of the hand
Break- take hands and motion apart and down. As if breaking something.
Eat- thumb touches other fingers and placed to lips (or food? I believe she does this)
Thank you- flat hand chin and then down and away
Go- fists held in front of her body parallel and then spinning them.
She nods her head yes and no too. (Is that mostly intentional?)
There’s probably more I’m forgetting. Okay imma go cheat and look at what everyone else said!
Edit: added descriptions of each sign
Edit2: OH PRETZELS how could I even forget? That and toilet is her GO TO. That one shard to describe. Like two v’s and one taps the other one.

I go to a 2 weeks camp every summer with a regular scout group, but I'm autistic and need some help sometimes so my scouters know about my needs, too. I've finally learnt to pack my own bag, but I do it like you. I'm not "aware" of how clothes match so I just pack full outfits with the help of my mother. We're located in Spain.

I like how you put each thing in a ziplock bag .. as a paraplegic this would be helpful for me so that i can just pick one ziplock bag with all my clothes in it for the day, and also have seperate ones as you showed for other things.. this was so helpful to me.. as a paraplegic it be so helpful, as trying to find things and your suitcase gets messy as you try to go through it looking for stuff.. this was a great video.. thank you so much.
Abbie is going to have so much fun.. and she is with her big brother Isaiah.. I am so glad that he gets to go and help out.. I know he loves to do things like this.. he has such a big heart and has such a compassion for people.. Enjoy mom and dad and get out there and go lay on the beach and relax.. love you guys

The way you pack her outfits in ziplock bags is something I was doing for my children back in the 90’s and now my children are doing it for their children, such a simplistic thing to do ... Have lots of date nights!!

My mom has iron on last name tags she would put on all our stuff. A few extra of things cuz stuff gets lost.
And for me extra chap stick to be kept with the nurse and our camp consler...because I would eat them- why, I don't know. Oh and the sharpie Extreme or Rub-a-dub for labeling clothing and stuff.

Ziplock bags are my fav packing accessory! When my kids were small I always packed whole outfits just like you do because I’m on vacation too I want to help them help themselves as much as possible. Fun fact the first time I sent my Nero typical daughter to camp she only wore 2 outfits and never used her soap or shampoo all week. She had a GREAT time but she was 7 sooooooo

I go to brainy camps through Children's National Healthcare System.I attend camp Take Hold for kids and teens with Cerebral Palsy as a counselor in training. I also attend camp Next Step also through Children's National healthcare system . Camp Next Step is for teens and young adults who are working on independence skills . Camp Next Step are buddies to camp Super Smile for kids and teens with down syndrome. The goal of Camp Super Smile is for the campers with downs syndrome to learn independence skills ( how to fill up their water bottles) without any assistance. These camps are always staffed with a physician who specializes in that conditionand other staff [ nurses, Nurse practitioners and residents]

Outfits in ziplock bags are essential for us. My daughter has ADHD/mild Autism and stresses out if we don't plan out her outfits ahead of time.
Recently my mom took her to visit my sister in another state. My daughter and I worked together to plan out her outfits and labeled them by day in each bag. My mom though told me that what I was doing was over the top and thought I was being ridiculous. But you know what, I saved my mom from having a meltdown when she couldn't decide what to wear or couldn't find a piece of an outfit. She just doesn't get that point.
