He took complete responsibility of his family. He was not entertaining film press and belonged to the old school, where work speaks for itself. His acting is outstanding. The work variety in un matchable. He was making many south remakes which people identify today as a better cinema. He was doing it back then. At that time people tried to bring him down for that very reason. Though other big stars like Ashok Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan worked in south remakes too.
He did not take two wives like anybody else. All his co stars are still good friends with him. He worked with each leading lady in multiple films. He was too good looking to be ignored or overlooked. Ladies found him irresistible. Not his fault. He didn't try to steal Hema. She refused Sanjeev Kumar's proposal and they together decided to hit it. She chose to be a second wife. Her choice. Sridevi was a second wife and so was Jaya Prada. He gave Hema her best roles in Khushboo, Kinara, and Jyoti among others. He respected all his co stars and respects in the industry till today.
