Frankie Laine - "Cool Water"

  • One of the greatest Western Songs ever written. This was written by Bob Noland of the Sons Of The Pioneers.
Many singers both Country and Pop have recorded it. Many with great success.
    The Sons Of The Pioneers
    Vaughn Monroe
    Marty Robbins
    Johnny Cash
    Jack Scott
To Name A few. Frankie's recording was made in 1955 and was popular at the time but never charted.(The charts only went to the top 40 at the time)
But did make it to #2 in the U.K.
Frankie recorded it later on in a more traditional western flavor but lost it's uniqueness. I think the is the best of them all. But that's just my opinion.

My Dad met Frankie Laine many years and got an autographed photo of him. I have now discovered his music and love it. So now I own the picture with a lovely note from my Dad. I have it laminated,I treasure it because my Dad is almost 89. He and I made amends about five years ago. A month later he was diagnosed with Dementia. Love you Dad. ❤🌈🦋

No one will has or will ever sing like Frankie Laine. He has the most powerful & dramatic voice which makes his songs so full of energy whatever he sings. However he can also turn his great voice into a slow heart warming ballad. LEGEND

My older brother bought the original 78 rpm record in 1955 before being posted overseas with the army, but I had no record player on which to play it ( I was 11 and my parents couldn't afford one) but they did buy a gramophone in 1959 and I played this record to death, and now I'm 72 years old and thanks to TH-cam can listen to it anytime.

Man I just wish there were artists today like Frankie, Johnny, Waylon, Marty, and others of the greatest inspiration. I'm 19 and I learned about them when I was growing up from my mother. Living with with my mom and stepdad you got used to the inspiration. Most American kids today have no idea what REAL music is, they rather Justin Bieber or who ever is the newest hits today. They forget creativity.

I live in an area where this, and Tumblin' Tumbleweeds, are too appropriate.

I have him on Columbia as well as Phillips.Strange lady in town was coupled with the Tarrier song on Phillips.

people of your generation love this type of music. I get a lot of letters about my stuff on TH-cam or my web site wanting to know where this music went. The problem is not many of the young get a chance to hear this kind of music. So how are they to know that there is something besides the crap that they are fed. Like Simon says "It'e Just To Old Fashion"
