Chicken-legged homeboy gets cooked by a simple rhythm game, but he wants us to believe he has the timing for one frame links
What I love about the one frame links argument is it isn't even reactable, no human who has ever lived or will live can hit confirm a one frame link, so it's not even a cool knowledge check, it's literally "did you lab this into your muscle memory yes or no?" Dale never labs, never hits any link combos at all, and doesn't compete beyond a casual level. Why tf would he care that they removed an annoying skill check?
@@babylonastronaut Yeah, plus even in USFIV, wasn't it only a handful of characters that needed 1F links for their most optimal combos, like Evil Ryu? For all his talk about being an OG FG veteran, Dale sure is stuck in the scrub mentality of thinking execution is all that matters... unless his opponent dominates him using super flashy combos, then he uses "footsies" and "neutral" as excuses, as if his gameplan doesn't mostly consist of spamming from afar.
Funniest thing is, not so long ago I did see a guy labbing out 1F links in SF6, they're just not optimal as far as damage output goes. Most of the difficulty in 6 comes from having to juggle all your drive tools and when to use them on top of the usual stuff you need for fighting games, it can put some mental strain on you and lead to some interesting mind games, a little bit like the combo breaker\lockout\counter breaker stuff in Killer Instinct. I also like how in KI they give a universal reason to use linkers as opposed to chains aside from "You're a scrub if you can't do them," as you can use them to make your combos harder to break (while chain combos usually lead to more damage).

As much as Black DSP flips out about people doing combos on him, I'm expecting him to start raging at just seeing his opponent move when the match starts. "He crouched, I'm going to quit."
For a dude that thinks he can hold court on musical talent, every time he said a beat was weird and he couldnt follow it, it was 4/4, straight quarter notes on the snare , the most basic idea in music.

Real talk, Bust a Groove has me thinking about how I could build a rhythm fighting game. I saw a comment saying people would like something like that instead of a generic fighting game, and when I think about it, it wouldnt be an issue of balance for the game either, just rhythm and reaction time. I have to try and see what I could do, maybe damage for combos amplified whn an attack connects on beat?
But I only get inspiration like that from games from older generations cause everything curent gen has to be a movie pretty much. Listen to "Got To Be Happy" from this game or look at the character art and tell me this game doesnt look awesome. I would have loved this game as a kid more than likely.

@@Critick3000 I saw Maximillian play Hi-fi, I thought it was interesting, the only thing is thats more adventure based, I was thinking like an actual fighting game of sorts. The God of Rock game the previous comment mentioned is a good example of what I was thinking of

I played bust a move years ago and all high tears fraud have to do it watch the flashes as it the beat counting to four and key the commands in and put the last one in on the flash. Well he can’t handle easy mode combos as he is just to good at games to learn kooky srub mode games that balrogs mastered.
