I vote for a two-piece set. This turned out beautifully. Well done. 🎉🎉
I think these coasters are beautiful and I love the fact that the beads can move around inside the coaster. I’m going to have to try this myself!! Great job!!!
Thank you, Julie! I love learning new techniques and you teach so well! ❤
GORGEOUS! Love those!!!!!❤❤❤
Congrats Julie!🎉It’s a very cool mold. I love the way it came out.💗have a lovely day,💐
I think this is totally nifty! Such a cool technique. 😊❤
This idea could make a cool trinket bowl too. I actually thought it was a bowl at first. Either way, it's beautiful:)
Stunning!
Absolutely gorgeous
Adorable and very clever 🥰❤😊
I adore this piece! I am not sure how to do it, but I do think that a separate mold for the "lid" would likely leave this with a cleaner finished look. I have never done any resin before. But for this I might start. So my vote would be for a 2 mold set.
Love these! I think it would be really neat next time doing either the same or with flowers... But..... Have the final seal (after the cut out laminate) in black.
I absolutely love this! The mold is amazing! Maybe you could make yourself a top mold and try it out. It might be easier than the plastic. I want to make some in blues and silvers. 😍
Absolutely genius Julie!! You are amazingly talented and so generous is sharing your talent with us!
Couple of comments… I have some UV resin in a needle tip bottle, and I think this would work well for ‘gluing’ the acetate down precisely. And, as for the resin disc, I think it’s a great idea but, I think you should offer it as an additional extra… that way your customers can choose to have the shaker mould with or without the disc?
By the way… I am enjoying all my new coasters moulds that I got from you last week… so exciting!!
Much love from the ‘other’ beautiful coast (Gold) in QLD! ♥️♥️🇦🇺
I have a few of your molds already I would sure love this one ,I think a two part is the way to go am sure you will come up with the right answer.
I love this mold! Just beautiful Julie. 💖😍
Love this idea!
O they are beautiful. Like your way.❤❤❤
Julie I watch you everyday! I would love to know how you make your molds with the crystal edges.
I love this! The idea of putting pet fur inside is wonderful. I added my dogs fur to resin and because he was an arctic breed with hollow hair stands, I had a slimy, discolored, gloopy mess.
I say make it a two part mold with cover because not everyone is patient enough to make the lid themselves. 💖
That is REALLY cool, not to mention very pretty. Your solution with the plastic looks like it works well, but I can see where having a mold for the “lid” would be helpful for a lot of folks. That was probably not very helpful. :)
U should make a puffy heart shaker. It would be awesome
No worries, like the longer videos ❤ they are super fun and gorgeous ❤ I would love a sea theme
As soon as I saw this I wanted one. I don't like other shakers. Yours turned out beautiful. ❤❤
thankyou so much 🥰
Love it!! The mold could be used as a nice trinket tray too ❤❤❤❤
Great idea!!
Beautiful 🥰
love this. love the black behind it
These are gorgeous I love this idea.. Try a photo in one I'd love to see how that looks. So many ideas for these.. Little sea creatur charms, dried flowers, glittery love hearts.. Etc etc
Love this mold and these pieces! Shakers are in the zeitgeist right now; I'm seeing them everywhere on youtube. I'd say you're right on time with this!
Based on the other creators I have watched who make shakers.....I vote for the plastic sheet and a top coat, like you did in this video.
For your next one, I vote blue/sapphire. It's my favorite color/birthstone/Hogwarts house color...lol
so amazing. my favorite
I would love to see you make a silicone mold of the top piece. That would be much better than plastic. So I vote for a two piece mold too 😊
Maybe you could make a prototype lid and see if you like it first? 😊
I was thinking the same thing.
Love it.
The doming really makes it ok to use the plastic. Love that too.
Very cool.
Wow. That is some special creativity Julie. I am speechless. Amazing, beautiful, classy, stunning....Wow. I am in awe of this idea. Fabulous! Please try the snow globe effect so we can see it too. Have to have one of these molds (means I have to get uv supplies). Really, really impressive!
If you made a lid, would you uv resin it in or glue?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
thankyou so much 🥰
You could use glue
Soooooo cool
So fun
Love this technique and love the mould :) I will have to purchase this ;) also I can use my Cricut to cut out the circles of Acetate :) I have so many ideas :):)
Doesn't need a separate mold for the lid.. if you did do one I hope we would have the option of buying the mold without the lid part.
Hey Julie! Just beautiful...Bravo! What's the approximate thickness of the clear plastic film? If it's too flimsy, would the weight of the resin make it sink some and inhibit the shaker contents from not being able to move. I'm in love with this project and mold. You're so creative!!
Wow that low down side view was awesome….that looks so good.
Got to get me that mold Julie😄 By the way Im finding it hard to source a good white silicone liquid for my homemade little hobby molds, Im also in OZ, where can I by the one you use please Julie😀💕🌸
This is really pretty! Love it! I don't know enough about making molds to offer any suggestions.
Usually when you are doing shakers you use the plastic film and then dome them or topcoat them with UV resin.
I vote for a 2 piece set
Please do a 4 set bundle and pretty please make different shapes like hearts and square
Could this also be used for a little trinket dish or does it mainly look like a coaster only??? Very pretty
I love the look but it seems like a bit of a struggle. Would it be easier with a back loading version? That way you could load it then glue on a mirror or glass that is already coaster size.
Julie. I think I missed you mixing the glycerin & water & putting it in?
Use it on coasters and maybe a good jar
Would you be able to show us how to make a resin top?
would it work to paint the edge with gold before you pour the clear on top?
😊
I am new to pouring the epoxy. I have a question about the amounts of A and B resign. The instructions call for you to pour equal amounts of each. And you are using different amounts of each one. Why is this?
Could that plastic be for laminating paper?
It's possible, or multi-purpose.
Yes
❤😊
The only concern is the plastic may be scratch with the use and the movement of the stones
❤love the new mold, I think - as you asked specifically - that it might be better with the plastic sheet…perhaps you can offer, next to the mold, a set of 10 plastic sheets, already cut (Cricut) out in the right measurements? That would be my idea… it looks gorgeous, groet Ingrid
i vote for a 2 piece mold. This is so much fun. I love it.
4 piece set would be amazing
Absolutely love your new mold. I hope you will also put it into your Amazon store as I cannot purchase it from eBay in my country. I think a two part mold with a lid would be great
I love shakers . You are a creative machine! You deserve all the success in the world, with your talent, tenacity, drive, and passion
thankyou so much 🥰
Agreed!!
Me too! ❤
❤@@dorianesalem8076
Black backing for just the center circle would be beautiful. Leaving the outer crystals clear. A hard resin top might give you the ability to push down with even contact and pressure when glueing/UV resining it down. So it would adhere more evenly. I would try a 9.5 resin top instead of plastic.
This looks exciting! 🤗
Love the mould! Although the way you have made it is genius, Putting a hot cuppa on ( even heat resistant resin) might penetrate and warp or discolour the plastic underneath.
I think a top mould sounds more permanent. Either way I want one! ❤
I would definitely want the top mold! Beautiful coaster!
I think you should make one look like a beachy island, that would be so cool!
Those are so cool! I love how many possibilities there are! You said dried flowers and I would love to see that!!!
If you make a lid could you then fill the gap in with a coloured UV resin ???
This mold is beautiful. I was wondering (please keep in mind I have never made a silicone mold and know nothing about it) would it be possible to flip the mold over and that's where you make the lid so it would all be in 1 mold. Just an idea, but unsure if that would be possible.
Nice!
That coaster mold is gorgeous. Your creativity is amazing and glad you share this with all of us. ❤❤❤. I think no black background because it is so elegant. The copper pen looks so pretty.
thankyou so much 🥰
This is too cool! I think making an additional mold for the topper would be perfect. I have several money bank molds, and they have a flat disc mold that makes a disc that’s maybe 1.5-2 mm thick and fits snugly into the side of the money bank. The groove in the money bank mold is similar to what you have built into your coaster mold.
How soon will you be able to make these molds. I hope with a set of 4 coasters
I love your molds, especially the crystal ones. I’m wondering if you changed your shaker mold a little to where you add your crystals and such to the underside, so any imperfections are not easily visible. Thank you for sharing your craft!
Brilliant! So beautiful, I love everything about your mold, color and texture choices! You rock!
As I was watching you pour resin over the top to close it in I thought you could put the pearls around it then pour the resin over the top
It looks like an antique piece for me, which is gorgeous! ❤❤❤
Love this but I would prefer a resin lid ❤❤ I would love a set of four
❤ 🎉 absolutely amazing new mold!! You're so clever! 🎉 ❤
Absolutely Gorgeous 💎💎💎
Julie, are you going to make this available in your Amazon store? I love this. You have sparked the epoxy resin Creator in me, and I have to do this. But I can't afford the one from Australia because of the shipping.💔 Do you know if going through Amazon would be more affordable because I have Prime? Your molds are so amazing! I've never seen anything like them. You could have some of your more popular molds manufactured so you could offer them cheaper to people that can't afford the handmade ones. I'm on disability and I watch your videos every day. Art has helped me deal with my disabilities the way I can't explain. But of course the one I love the most I can't afford LOL just like me. I was going to end it there but I just heard you say that you're not a professional mold maker you don't know how good you are! I think you could really do it professionally. But I know you love your art so maybe do it and have somebody do your manufacturing and shipping. The rest of us want your art too😂 P.S I love your videos and I love the longer ones never worry about that.
I make them in Australia so shipping them all to the US to sell would eat all my profit
I love that, Maybe cuz for the valentines day you can make a red And pink one.❤
I think a 2 piece mold would be best so that you have a solid and perfectly round “lid”. I don’t think that join would be overly noticeable. Love this though 🎉❤🎉
Brilliant. I love seeing everything you do.
Fantastic pour, Julie!👏 I have a 14KG Ring with 24KG Flakes between 2 layers of clear acrylic pieces so the Gold flakes move around inside. I could never figure out until I watched your video! Thx for solving this mystery for me! ☺️
Holy smokes! When I saw those tiny whispy beads, my first thought was a cherry blossom tree.
Love it!!! Incredible as always! 🤩 a resin top with sides that could loosely fit into the existing grooves might be good? Then you could just add some small beads of whatever adhesive you wanted. But truly incredible like always!!! ❤❤❤ Also, I think you CAN consider yourself a professional mold maker since, from what I’ve seen (and I’ve been shopping around for YEARS) your molds are the BEST on the market!!!
First, this was freaking AMAZING! It is such a really cook and unique design for a coaster. Second, you know how you cut out the plastic circle then used it to cover the top, what about using that as a template then using the UV resin to make the actual closure thats easy to just glue down? This way, you can make many tops with 1 tool. Lastly, did I say how AMAZING this was?
Tough question. WIth the plastic, you can see where the gaps are. Would it be the same with a thin piece of resiin? Might be worth an experiment with thinlly poured resin using a coaster or ornament mold (whichever fits best) just to see the results. These are BEAUTIFUL. I haven't gotten into the coaster fad but these are something I MUST try. Thank you for all your wonderful videos.
Great idea July, I agree this is probably a less messy and stable way of making a lid😀
Love the old fashion other one with the pinks and light plumy violet with faded silver outer rim, just lovely, its a shame the glue ran on that one🙃
Julie, I love Victorian things and wondered if the top row of your mold could be a row of 🌹 🌹 🌹 🌹? I love that this mold is shakeable.❤ I love your channel. 💕
Love the mold I think this idea will be easier because you still have to glue it down so this is just one step.
Just an extra though Julie, that if you added a touch of mica powder to a blob of that pen ink, you could change the colour somewhat to match the crystals inside the ring!
This is a method I use, and don’t think anyone else but me, has gone this far with colour yet!
Stunning, nice to see a beautiful shaker style. FYI be careful using some glues on acetates. Super glue type glues (fumes) will fog up the acetates, or some other plastics. ❤❤❤ great mold idea!
Black looks better but it's beautiful. Love this idea fantastic mould 🎉🎉
Thanks so much for sharing. I like the way you do it with the plastic sheet. Maybe you could make a template to go with the mold. Take care❤️
These are beautiful!
If you mix your dye into one part of your resin, you can mix up enough to make a set of coasters, then save what is not used for each one until the next day before mixing in the second part of the resin. That way you will have a consistent color across all of them. Just remember, you'll need to make it twice as dark as you want it (or 1/3, depending on the mix ratio) so it comes out right when you mix in the other part!
I think this mold might make for a really interesting flower, as the dye will not be able to move the same way it does in molds with a flat surface... some of it should get 'stuck' down in the crystally part.
I really love it. Something different and unique.
So awesome Julie, I love these! Definitely would like to see with an opaque back!! I do think a resin lid would encase the inner portion and seal everything tight.
It's beautiful!! Why not try and do a sea theme with shells, starfish, etc. I would love you to make one. Thanks for sharing ❤
Will do :)
❤❤❤ your shaker is great 👏 😄
