The remaining three celebrity contestants press their luck for a home viewer and the last Finalist's seat. Note: We all know Press Your Luck premiered in 1983, not 1981.
TheDruidBrona I concur, why do we need a full hour of syndicated copycat court shows at 9AM in the morning when CBS could add another early hour of game shows to its #1 daytime lineup & put the long-overdue PYL back on the airwaves?!
According to legend, Gameshow Marathon was pre-recorded in January of 2006. I know you probably know this already, but they did have a memorial pic for him after the game ended.
I'd like to see a new adaptation of Press Your Luck back on CBS. After all they brought back Let's Make A Deal. The only gameshows left from that great gameshow era are The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
After hearing Rich say the show premiered in 1981, I had to stop the video for a second. I turned to my wife (who cares very little for game shows) who was watching TV near me and asked her to just guess what year PYL premiered. SHE KNEW. It's sad that someone as apathetic about game shows as my wife is knows more about a show than the company who OWNS the show does. Fremantle Media FTW.
Uh...no. There is a video on here clearly showing the pilot posted by Peter himself. Unless they tried different hosts; if this is true, I'd love to see the Sajak pilot.
Out of all the classic game shows, Press Your Luck was in fact the most heartpounding one.
They seriously need to release Gameshow Marathon on DVD. I'd buy the whole set. This was so cool to see the classic games played again.
What a coincidence! It's airing on the same studio that the original show film! PYL has come home!
thanks for uploading this...i never got to see the whole show
This was a great idea for a show! They should do this annually with a new batch of shows every year.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Not one person can ever forget Press Your Luck while remembering Michael Larson at the same time.
Bring back Press Your Luck!

Press your luck getting a reboot on June 12 in ABC
There is a Whammy in the opening credits.
Seriously, we should bring back this and $ale Of The Century, since we brought back Let's Make A Deal.
Incidentally, this episode aired on June 8, 2006, exactly 22 years since the first half of the Michael Larson game.
Peter would have LOVED this! The episode should have began with a moment of silence and a prayer in commemoration of his life.

Actually, it was recorded in Mar & Apr of '06 (Stage 46 is where current PYL is recorded)

Press Your Luck In It's Home Studios That's Kool
This is THE GAME SHOW!!! The game is NEVER decided until the final spin!
I'm sorry but I have to yell at Fremantle...it premiered on September 19, 1983 Damn it!!!
R.I.P. Peter tomarkin
I miss this show
wow Rikki Lake Haven't seen her in a long time...
Poor Rich. Press Your Luck didn't premiere on CBS in 1981.
i loved peter tomarken
u can play pyl in your home on your ps3 or wii
Press Your Luck did NOT premiere in 1981! Seems like FremantleMedia got Whammied...
Only celebrities as contestents? They should have hosts or different people for a new game show marathon.
@GameShowFanMan I agree - Rich Fields should have done his homework - Rod Roddy wasn't 'the illustrious one' for nothing!
The Big Board comes back to life one last time...
Actually, PYL was revived as Whammy! The All New PYL and the big board was brought back
Thegamerontop the big board comes back to life in reboot on ABC on June 12

I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING! The contestant island rotates the WRONG WAY compared to the original Press Your Luck!
Todd Newton was better than Ricki Lake
But Peter Tomarken was better than Todd Newton and Ricki Lake!
Both Peter tomarken and Todd Newton had a great sense of humor and there was a lot of laughter there.
not Rich's fault. its Fremantle Media's fault for not doing the research properly.
that promo was refrence to the sunday's tony awards
At 4:00 to 4:02, Which episode had Peter surrounded by whammies?
if they do this again they should have wheel of fortune put in it to
it’s back on ABC.
Ricki's laughter at 7:53 and 8:16.
@MrBennetzen Yeah! WE WANT WHAMMIES!! AND BIG BUCKS!!
Revive the show in the original 80's version, not the GSN version. Nobody said anything about PYL was based on ABC 1977 version SECOND CHANCE
Todd Newton, maybe?
This is the shoddiest set construction I have seen on this show.
Wasn't it in '83
At about 3:01, that's "F**king" Jim Hess.
No wonder this show was dead on arrival...
Blame Fremantle not CBS. They've ruined about every classic format they've owned so it's not a shock they couldn't get that right.
Ricki Lake, I mean seriously! They could have picked a much better host than her.
