I used to be in a small volunteer fire department in TX. When I got in the department we had an '86 Boardman pumper, and a '82 Ward LaFrance pumper in service. Both of these hard 750gpm pumps. We also had an old '68 Ward LaFrance pumper that had been converted into a tanker. This truck only had a 500gpm pump in it. Funny thing. We once took that '68 which could be set to pump either volume or pressure and set it volume and it out pumped either one of the other two trucks! Had that Hale pump pushing close to 850gpm from a draft.

Thanks for info. I worked wastewater and our pumps had huge electric motors to pump those volumes. We had six inch iron inlets and eight inch discharges. Lots of power to do that

@@panhandlingray That's a little different than on an old fire truck where you will have a 5" or a 6" intake and usually multiple 2 1/2" discharges.

Love the open top Kenworth. When I first joined the fire department in Virginia that bad boy was retiring from front line service but everyone in the area knew about it. Glad to see it’s still around.

nice video. I would also have liked a walk along the path showing each company. But well done

I do normally do that for a Facebook live video. This year however, I did not do a live video from this muster. If you don't follow me on Facebook already, you can find me here facebook.com/lightsandfiretrucks/

It's very cool seeing all the different types of fire trucks, but what the reason they do this?

Should have washed down the passing train. They could always use a bath.

Nice rainbows. Fire Trucks are very heavy, is that non-road walkway riverbank designed to support and withstand all those pumpers?

It's real name is called a sea wall. Yes it's very dangerous for the trucks to be driving on the wall.

I was thinking the same thing about the weight 😬 I also wonder if vibrations from all of the motors and pumps running would cause stress to the concrete as well ?

It’s being drawn in from the river and put right back. It’s called drafting. That’s why they all have hoses going from the truck to the river.
