- Bob Marley and the Wailers were in the Netherlands during his "Rastaman Vibrations" tour for his first Dutch concert in the Jaap Edenhal in Amsterdam on June 13, 1976, the first of the five concerts Marley ever gave in the Netherlands. During this concert 'Roots, Rock, Reggae' was the last song on the set and 'Positive Vibration' was the first encore. The concert ended with 'Get Up Stand Up / War / No More Trouble'.
Fortunately, the Toppop recordings have been preserved. They have been used by director Kevin Macdonald for his famous and acclaimed documentary about Bob Marley, entitled 'Marley' from 2012.
This exclusive Toppop video was recorded in a studio in Nederhorst den Berg near Hilversum in June 1976.
The recording is, as most Toppop videos, a lip-synch recording.
Bunny Wailer is not in this video as he left the Wailers two years earlier.

Bless him, Rita and their children. He's with his mother, grandfather and grandson Jo now. The drummer the great Carlton Barrett was sadly murdered by his wife in 1987. She didn't even get long in jail 😠

But... where are the amps?, why B Marley cable goes into his pocket?, why the percussionist is not playin whats heard?, where is the sax player (tommy mcCook)?, the answer is they miming the song,. Thats because is a recording at the Dutch’s Avro Studio’s TV show, TopPop in June 1976 during the Rastaman Vibrations tour. The song we hear is the original mix from the Rastaman Vibration album released in April 1976 (three months before this video was recorded).
However I consider this band one of the greatest in reggae history. Every single musicians has a great background behind.

We rented ( 1974 ) the same villa Jimi Hendrix and other famous musicians often leased, we brought a state of the art Boom Box and played Bob Marley's music every night we were there. We made friends instantly, and even got to tour local weed farms owned by locals. I would drink coffee, smoke weed and watch the sun rise over the mountains in the mornings. When we would go to town for supplies, we took an armed man with us. Weed and locally made rum was so affordable. Half a grocery bag of smoke was 35.00 us and Rum was 4.00 per qt.
